I agree, we had 3 large ships and a small luxury ship in there last time we went and it was jam packed. We just walked around the packed shops and had a margarita and went back to the ship. We did buy some vanilla. There and Belize seem to be a place to get for ok prices. I have bought something at Diamond International, before I knew better a good while ago. But I still have the watch and it’s great. I didn’t save a lot of money probably a bit below retail in the US. It wasn’t here it was in Nassau.
@@tpstravels hi! I’m researching Costa Maya because our ship changed itinerary last minute, yesterday. I’m checking out Krazy Lobster. Any thoughts? Thanks!
My wife and I were there in June for the first time. There were 3 ships that day. We were on MSC. It was fairly crowded but not overwhelming. We didn't spend much time in the port. A friend who has been there many times told us to go to the Krazy Lobster. They have a nice little beach area sectioned off with covered tables and chairs. You can stay as long as you want if you are buying food or drinks. Beers were $2-3 and food very reasonable. You can get an hour massage for $20. I walked the strip a bit taking photos. I think I was offered drugs twice. It was interesting.
@@tpstravels I THINK they were offering drugs. One guy asked me if I wanted to take a fishing excursion. I declined. Then his exact words were. "What about something for the party later tonight?" Then another walks steps out and asks me if I'm looking for anything and says, "I can get whatever you want." He might have been referring to other things. I kinda got the vibe that it really could be anything I wanted. It was an interesting day nonetheless. If you do go to the Krazy Lobster our friend gave us these directions. Go into the port. Go through the gelato shop. Turn right. Walk straight to the taxis and ask to go there. I think it was $4 a person for the trip. We also went to Cozumel on that trip and went to Mr. Sancho's. If you've never been there i HIGHLY recommend it. It's about 15 minutes from the port but for $70 a person you get a nice large section of beach with all you can eat and drink for the day. We got there a little early and got a perfect spot by the water. We will definitely go back there if we get back to Cozumel.
Yes I’ve been doing a lot of research people just suggesting that place. we migth just go there. and it’s way safer bcz it’s pretty close to the port. nothing really cna go wrong with 5minites ride. 🤞
The lost Mayan place is a water and zip line park. You can do the zip line all day as much as you want. Been there twice and you’ll even see iguanas roaming around too.
Did you see there is beach access at the Costa Maya Port? Everything I have read and heard says you have to go into Mahahual to go to a beach. I would prefer to stay at the port and pay to eat at this restaurant if it has beach access.
I was on a cruise and one of the ports was costa maya. I wanted to explore to area outside the tourist trap when you get off the ship. So I ventured out and its was seedy and I felt very uncomfortable but while I was walking past the taxi drivers. One driver asked if I wanted a young girl. That made me sick and I headed back to ship to never step foot on this port of call. Child sex trafficking.
We are going next week.Thank you so much. We hear a lot of crazy stuff going on.one family with two young girl almost got kidnap thankfully they got away. We still thinking to book excursion but with RC. still not sure crazy place for sure.
Yea, it is a nice pool with a swim up bar. I love the restaurants surrounding it. Very relaxing vibe. I hope you don't have a lot of ships there when you visit. It does make it a little more comfortable with less people, but at least the temps shouldn't be sweltering at that time, that's a plus.
@@zekeibarra4428 That's a great question. I have never done anything past the port here in Costa Maya. I tend not to venture out too far when in Mexico. I have done a few things outside the port in Cozumel, but not here.
Oh yea, they have some WiFi cafes you can sit down at in Costa Maya. I believe you have to rent a chair or buy a drink and the you can enjoy the WiFi while there.
Never didn’t bridges but I understand it’s a small charge to go there and the huts up there are full birds like parrots and other kinds of friendly birds. I left the pole spinners since they took a while get set up. We came back 20 minutes later and the had started. Pretty nice to watch but wow it looks dangerous.
Thanks for the info. I have never done the bridge either so wasn't sure if there was a charge. Yes, the pole spinners do take a little while but pretty neat to watch.
We did the water park before covid and it is NOT worth it. The ride there was horrible. I don't have anything good to say about that excursion and I'm a positive person. Skip it!
Have you been to Costa Maya? What are your thoughts?
Yes I have, but not a fan. I'll probably stay on the ship during our next trip.
@@jpindahaus Same! It's just too small of an area for multiple cruise ships.

Yes I’ve bought at Diamond Int’l in the Caribbean. Beautiful, unusual pieces I wear and still love.
@@CatherineSchafer-p1y They do have some beautiful pieces and at affordable prices too.

We visited in April 2024 and it was wonderful- we loved outrage tour to Chacchoben
Not all ships stop at CocoCay. The water park is a great option.

Honestly rather stay on the ship in Costa Maya and use the ships pools, food and drink pkge!
Sometimes that’s best with how crowded it can get at this port.

That’s all I need to know. Staying on the ship for sure at this port. Awful.

October 1st. Is it worth going into town

Why didn't you walk back to the new pool area?
I truly didn’t think about it until after I left. Sorry about that.
Is there a free wifi in terminal?

Are there any lockers to store wallet and cell phones while swimming?
Yes, you can find lockers and showers there at the port.

11 minutes and no useful info
Thanks for your feedback. I was simply showing the port and what you can do at the port.
