    You say don't heat aquascapes, my house is never 22/23c, I would boil. We keep it at 18c, a heater in my tank is a must.

      I came here to say this. I think that it's because they're in Europe where they don't have ACs as much. But here in the US we all have ACs because without them we would boil. I keep my house at about 68 to 70° year round which is not warm enough for almost any fish or plants.

      I'm #48. You must remember that 20-30 liters in a cube and those in a shallow tanks are different. For fish, the volume is not as important as the width of the tank. Fish usually swim horizontally, so width is more important than height ;) Greetings

    Hey Tommy, hopefully you can read this. I wanted to know your opinion on a topic I don't see often discussed: mixing high requirement with low requirement plants. It's just that for a long time, I've struggled with such an issue: I have low light plants such as Microsorum Trident, which I love, and red Rotala varieties. The struggle is that the rotalas need high light, but if I add high light then I get algae, because of all the low light plants which I have at the bottom, and if I reduce the light intensity, I get rid of the algae, but the rotalas look bad. The only way I've been able to sort of fix this, is to raise the rotalas inside the tank to get closer to the light, but that also has its challenges. I have a good maintenance routine and hi-tek equipment such as Chihiros WRGII, CO2 injection, a good canister filter, and RO water. Should I just give up on the low light plants and keep the light intensity high? What advice would you give me?

  • @MeanOldLady
    @MeanOldLady 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I love #3. I think the hanging rock space is an interesting balance to compensate for the extra, dark shadows on the top left. They could've added any extra, orange-tinted plant on the right side for more plant balance though.

    Hello, I have a request for help. In my aquarium I changed the filter to a canister one, added zeolite, ceramics and a sponge. And at the bottom I put a new active substrate, "advenced soil original". The water is in an RO filter. Two days after the changes, the water becomes milky, the fish (Ramireza cichlids) died, and the Ph jumped from 6.5 to 7.8. Large the changes only help with cloudiness, but the pH does not drop. Please give me some advice because this is my first time. Regards, Patryk from Poland.

    • @GreenAquaShop

      "This guy" is trying to help people improve their aquascapes and the people sending their work are expecting that help exactly, that's the point of this video. Part of that improvement is to respect your own work with removing distracting elements when you show it to others so they can appreciate the work itself.

    Look I get it you don't want to see filters and heaters but, if you're doing a fish tank review atleast expect people Not to be able to afford an all in one system or a canister filter, I have a aquaclear 70 and I wish I can hide it. Especially heaters you don't know if these people might be in the north of the united states or Europe where it's cold and not suitable for tropical fish it's very unrealistic to expect people to heat up their houses for 1 aquarium. And also be able to hide it behind the anubias

    • @angeloduarte1941
      @angeloduarte1941 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      These guys do contest scapes. For the photo you would always remove all the tech, even if you had a canister with a heater in, you’d turn it off and take the pipes out for the picture.
      Even if they’re not looking at it from that angle, this channel speaks to what you should aim for if you want a high standard, that’s not to say it’s bad if you can’t afford a canister filter with a heater in it yet, just that is the aim because you can’t argue that it looks better without one in view.

    • @Fynxl

      My point was if you send your work for a review, remove items that are not part of the actual scape for taking the photo. It's difficult to not take them into consideration when you're trying to evaluate a work where first glance impression is the most important factor. It's not about money or having cold/warm weather, it's just about appreciating what you do without disturbing plastic stuff covering it.
