Thanks for the video, I want to correct one thing: 1:25 these are tie-in resistors which are used to limit the recovery voltage during the operation of change-over selector. Change-over selector is equipped to OLTC when we need higher operating positions with a limited tap selector contact quantity. For example: OLTC with 10 selector contacts and without change-over selector: can operate up to 10 positions only, while the same OLTC when equipped with change-over selector can operate up to 19 positions (10*2 -1). The transition resistors used to limit the circulating current duration tap switching are located inside the diverter switch insert in the oil compartment of OLTC.
Hi sir,i have the following questions: 1. How does the OLTC work automatically as in how does it measure the change in load and changes it taps accordingly? 2. As shown, there is also a counter inside and while doing the O&M, we check how many times OLTC operated.I wanted to know is there a certain value in the counter above which we can tell that it can cause problem to the OLTC? 3. The motor used is AC or DC?
Thank you for your comment. Following are the answers to your questions. 1. There can be two ways to monitor voltage change, if one observes voltage change beyond limit, OLTC is operated. Also there are OLTCs with AVR system called as automatic voltage regulation. In this case voltage is monitored and regulated automatically. That means OLTC changes tap automatically. 2. Yes. After certain number of operations, it is advised to do OLTC servicing in consultation with respective manufacturers. Also life of OLTC is related to number of OLTC operations. 3. The motor used is AC motor.

Good presentation. Thanks
Welcome
Nice!!
May i ask about off load tap changers? Are they connected on high voltage side too?
Thanks.
Thank you. Yes octc is connected on HV side.

សូមស្វាគមន៍ (Welcome)
Sir ,so the concept is put the HV winding inside LV winding ...
Yes
sir, is there any video for dissolved gas analysis of transformer oil
Video about DGA will be as soon as possible.
Sir, do you have video regarding oil degasifiers? Thanks
Please check the video about silica gel Breather

Sir please make vedio on capacitor bank in substations
Sure. Video on capacitor bank will be uploaded soon.
@@ElectroGlobe1 sir I will always wait for your new vedio .
@@ElectroGlobe1 please upload more vedio, your vedio is more informative for us.
@@himanshu2232 thank you
What is current rating of tap changer
Current rating varies for different OLTCs. Standards for OLTC has details about current rating. Hope this answers your query.
@@ElectroGlobe1 Actually my question was how current rating of OLTC relates to Transformer rating. Or no relationship
@@enamulhaque630 yes. OLTC and Transformer ratings are related.
The narration of this video makes this completely unwatchable
Thank you for the feedback
