I'm an apprentice going to school and this topic came up in my class and our teacher confused the hell out of this... This 10 minute video was better than my 4-Hour class 🤣
Your videos are great they are slower paced and easier to understand. I love Mike holt he is a genius IMO but he talks so fast and goes off on tangents he can make it very confusing. You have taken all the fluff out of this and hit right to the core. Thank you.
Thanks sir. Just watched your short video and it refreshed my memory on how to do this problems. I’m currently studying for my masters exam. My brother took his exam and said some of this conduit fill problems show up on the exam. Thanks a lot.
Craig.. I have been Working two years with an Electrical company. NOBODY taught me what I have learned from you!! GO FOR IT!! You're doing absolutely AMAZING!!! I need to know exactly when we can use %60 when we use nipples? Should we calculate for %40 when we don't use nipples, or should we use %60 instead %40 when we have to use nipples? Thank you!!
Hi Craig! How would I apply this chart to RTRC Conduit (Fiberglass conduit)? I can't seem to find this type of conduit on the chart but its mentioned slightly in the NEC book. For example: Figuring out if I can fit 2+ 750 kcmil cables into a 5" FRE Conduit
Thank Craig. If I'm using tray cable constructed with XHHW-2, I don't have to make any adjustments for the sheathing that binds the conductors and ground together, do I?
Your awesome. So much better than these “electrical coach” ass holes. Keep up the good fight. There’s nobody sharing real info these days. Just a bunch of theory.
Off the cuff question.... A 480 volt 3 phase AC unit is being replaced with a 208 volt 3 phase unit. Can the existing 600 volt disconnect be reused on the 208 volt AC? Also, can the 600 volt fuses be used on the 208 volt AC if sized per the unit over protection label?
dude, its the area of the pipe. you are limited to how much area u can take up within said pipe. im not an electrician. nor have i taken any classes. is this ground taking up any extra area of the pipe that is not included in the wire chart?

I'm the same age and I just got my Master's license and discover that I really didn't know how to derate and I've never been shown.
Thanks for producing these videos. I'm brushing up for my Journeyman exam.

Hey Craig! r
Firstly THANK YOU DO MUCH for your video! Thank you!
Could you make detail video about demand load for restaurants? Thank you

On conduit fill, do you add the ground in the calculations?
Thanks!
@@gmangerardop1175 Thank you!! This does help my channel! CM
gracias my guy thank you very much u a beast
Respect I take my test June 11th wish me luck
Passed my Test 👍
Congratulations bro
круто обьясняет, спасибо
When do you derrate since you have more than 3 current carrying conductors
Ideally you derate before you choose which wires you need. Then you size the conduit accordingly.
@@Funstead I’m still having trouble understanding deratting
Question. In the electrical nonmetallic tubing section in table 4… after 2inch every Column is blank, what is the reason for that?
Where can I buy the book? And what’s the book name?
Thanks a lot for usefull video
Thank you sir
Are you in the union? I'm 305
Is the ground wire size included in this calculation?
^^^kept reading in the table notes. Confirmed that It is
Viva Christo Rey
Thank you very much
I was hoping that you mentioned the difference between copper and aluminum.
I can pull 16 THNW2 wires into 3/4 pipe. Is the ground included in these 16 conductors or can I ignore it?
dude, its the area of the pipe. you are limited to how much area u can take up within said pipe.
im not an electrician. nor have i taken any classes.
is this ground taking up any extra area of the pipe that is not included in the wire chart?
It’s 1.7277 more then 40 percent of the 2 1/2 emt? So wouldn’t you have to go up another size conduit
How do i get in contact with this person?
How do we size bare wire?
compact cu and al?
👏👏👏
90 feet from the panel and contain 8 circuit both and one 2 pole Circuit, please help me
i love you
Sucks I was never taught this .I've been in the trade for 12 years😔..
Damn
Thank you!
