      Absolutely excellent loved doing this, but my paintings always show every paint stroke I do so I don't get a lovely blend like you, unsure what I'm doing wrong or how I could improve. New to this.x

      @@janemees2115 That is always a tricky part. Try using a good paper it can make a huge diffrrrnce . Blending and watercontrol is always the most challenging in watercolors. Keep practicing and try Arches paper (I have link in my description) I’ve used it since college days 30 years ago and never switched! Happy painting

    ❤❤❤ beautiful! I also like the funky paper you uses to show us your colors! Does it have a name?

      LOL It is a very inexpensive student grade paper I had cut up to use for my swatch colors! I cut it up to use for swatches and color testing because I did not care for it to paint on! I use to teach kids lessons, and would have them use it to practice on. (I hate to throw any supplies out!)

    I would just like to say thank you for your excellent tutorial. I am teaching myself how to paint with watercolours and so many tutorials do not explain the movement of the brush or how much water to use and about blotting off excess and all these things make a huge difference. Well done 👍 you. I’m now a big fan 😁

      I'm so glad Jane! I have been painting for so long sometimes these small instructions i forget. I have been trying to slow down my process, and share each step. I'm so happy this is helpful for you! Many times it is the small things that can make a big difference! Practice a lot, daily, the more you warm up, the more muscle memory you will elicit and just know what to do, how to create a shape, hold your brush, water control. You will be amazed at how warming up daily with brushstrokes will change your results. Happy painting!

      @@DebbieWalkerArtmadeeasy Thank you so much. Exciting! 🤗❤️ I am having trouble making colour even when I try to filled up whole paper, bigger paper. Either use too much water, the paper winkled up or too dry that colour don't blend in smoothly. I am frustrated and disappointed in myself.
      With smaller space then it is no problems.
      Can you give me few tips? Thank you.

    • @DebbieWalkerArtmadeeasy
      @DebbieWalkerArtmadeeasy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Hopexi This learning phase can be frustrating! Stay with it, and always, before stopping a painting or practice, find something you noticed you did really well or better! Water control is something that takes a while to become skilled at. Keep practicing pages of wet in wet. Make sure to gently scrape your brush on the side of the water container, and if needed, dab the tip onto a little paper towel after loading with your paint to get off any excess water. The inexpensive paper will create a lot of frustration and warping. Try a better grade of paper Arches, cold pressed, 140#. And if you need to tape it down around the edges so it does not warp. I talk about this in a video. When you lay down your paint, it should be shiny with no puddling. If it is too dry, dip it in water and then gently scrape on the water container. Keep playing with these techniques; YOU are getting there and improving all the time! I've been painting my entire life and still have challenges.
