Looks like a lot of these planes were either built wrong or the CG was way off. But I must say that little red plane with the fish looking fuselage at 1:56 was never designed to fly more than 10 seconds.
wow that is and old video like Im guessing 20 years ago, but it is fun to see how difficult internal combustion engines were to keep running and the consequences of dead stick landing...I only fly electric now but I do remember those old times. great video!!!!
Having said all before, I am compelled to further state, Guys, there are some impressively well built models here, clearly, many hours invested in each one, with fine results. I congratulate you all!.
That was fun to watch! Thank you! Reminds me of all the crashes over the years. I've probably seen every single one of those style crashes on different planes haha! Same mistakes, different planes. This is RC aviation haha :)
What did the engines have to do with the crashes? Most of these weren't even crashes anyway. So many were just rough landings or tipping forward after landing in grass. :)
Did any of these guys spend time on a simulator. Did any of em do preflight checks, radio ranging, correct servo response. Do any of em know about basic flight? ie wing stalls, etc.. Lots of money and time being thrown away. It's a great hobby but can be expensive as well as frustrating. Spend of money on a good software simulator. Can save lots of grief later on down the line.
At 07:15, minor design fault, look up real ski-equipped aeroplanes, they sometimes had a rear mounted airfoil on each main ski to keep it level whilst in flight.
Yes it's true, this video is a compilation of more than 20 years and it's only a tiny fraction of our business. Had you those critics viewed the other videos on this channel and would like to see us really flies. And thank you for the positive feedback. After all the other videos are even worse accident and do not have much criticism!
do not worry, they know what they are doing...this is a compilation from a long time...from various Slovakian airports... if you try challenging things, you will break something sometimes...
Exactly man I ALWAYS check and double check my balsa-wood babies lol foamies well maybe not as careful as I should be .The funny thing is when I was more of a noob I would have NEVER done it but sometimes I forget I can still crash em and I need reminding lol I guess I'll never be the guy who has his shit together completely but I try hee hee
You know what man? It's funny just yesterday (after hooking up my Dynam Mustang back to it's original transmitter) I forgot to check the aileron servos ha ha ha Well at least not too much damage didn't get it that far off the ground because it was also way outta trim lol Anyhow after some Gorilla glue and duct-tape she's back to original form . A kid even offered me 150$ for it at the park today(which is more than i payed) lol he's bringing cash tomorrow but i won't charge him THAT much heh heh
the folks have a fundamental misunderstanding bout landing an aircraft....on final, the power controls the rate of descent and the yoke controls the speed...……..they have it backwards....just watch..
These were the days when we had to build our models and learn to fly them. Not like today, simulators and foam /electric a plenty. All too easy now. Not many true aeromodellers these days, who can say I built my aeroplane from scratch...
Looks like a lot of these planes were either built wrong or the CG was way off. But I must say that little red plane with the fish looking fuselage at 1:56 was never designed to fly more than 10 seconds.
Wow. Some truly amazing emergency landings on this CRASH COMPILATION VIDEO.....
local hobby store must love these guys
Also 4:00 OMFG that shell suit
wow that is and old video like Im guessing 20 years ago, but it is fun to see how difficult internal combustion engines were to keep running and the consequences of dead stick landing...I only fly electric now but I do remember those old times. great video!!!!
LOL! I think every aeromodeller my age has memories just like these :)
haha.
Jesus, i would not fly myself, just get a chair ,6 cold beers and watch them all day.
Hooow... You guys made some pretty nasty landings....
Nice collection :) Glad to see you guys have as much fun as we do out there
Thanks for posting
Wow, the second one looks a little bit like HFL STRATOS :-) (I was one oh those to built the original from 1986 - 1987 in Lüneburg)
3:38 ... perfect landing and taxiing in front of the pilot (ツ)
4:15min...... nice shell suit!
did this all happen on the same day?
Having said all before, I am compelled to further state, Guys, there are some impressively well built models here, clearly, many hours invested in each one, with fine results.
I congratulate you all!.
Thank you man who writes like he is at a Toastmaster meeting.
eine unglaubliche Anzahl von Stümpern & Pfuschern, daß die sich auch noch getrauen, an Flugtagen teilzunehmen, erscheint unglaublich!!!!
Watching that P-51 dead stick made my heart skip a few beats...
Fantastic, the guy in purple "flight suit" at 4:05.
Looks cool, but clearly dont know what the hell he´s doing :)
Anybody knows what kind of a plane the white one is (with the skids)? Great video btw, good to learn what not to do ;)
That was fun to watch! Thank you! Reminds me of all the crashes over the years. I've probably seen every single one of those style crashes on different planes haha! Same mistakes, different planes. This is RC aviation haha :)
Why do camera operators zoom in too close? It spoils the sense and scale of the action. Zoom out a bit fellas, it will look a lot better.
I like so much these "old" model airplanes!
Even the simplest of them is then times better than the today foamies!
1:55 to 2:20 : most epic RC plane i ever saw!
I like to the transition to the next crash
what year is it?
LMFAO @ 5:00, the dog runs after the plane! XD
Some really interesting mishaps. Most I can work out but others seem to have just happened for no apparent reason - equipment failure perhaps.
What did the engines have to do with the crashes? Most of these weren't even crashes anyway. So many were just rough landings or tipping forward after landing in grass. :)
L.M.A.O this was better than watching Benny Hill
Good job they were'nt Decent Models ( LOL )
lol back in the day of vhs camcorders, shell suits and escort xr3i those were the days :)
Must be from some furian county Wilbur, whata y'all think?
Is it a requirement to wear a track suit while flying a r/c plane?
Laughed through the whole video!
Mostly ground loops, a few crashes and a couple of nice saves when dead sticking the landing.

I believe the model is based on a home-built machine called a 'Tipsy Nipper', but I could be wrong.
Sweet.Great videography!
Is this 'The Kamikaze Flying Club', European chapter??.
@komarlex1 Thanks mate! Tempting model for a next build :)
At 07:15, minor design fault, look up real ski-equipped aeroplanes, they sometimes had a rear mounted airfoil on each main ski to keep it level whilst in flight.
Bwahh!! eating fruit loops while watching this. blew milk out of my nose. that is beyond funny.
Sound would be good though.
and what are those funny long silver things on the tx? lol
No, I think it's the land of the droopy mustache.
Lmao these are some funny crashes. Bet these guys had zero experience on a Sim. They were really rare in'98
4:52 Chechnian Airlines
you would think by now they would know how to set an engine up so when the fuel runs low and it leans out it doesn't cut....
The days before Lipos, brushless motors, 2.4ghz haha
He chose a good hobby
A este nejake video s uspesnym pristavanim, aby si v zahranici nemysleli ze nevieme ako na to :-)
Cool!

um no... there were a LOT of dead sticks... that dont happen in elec!
why is most of this footage from like 1793?
todos esos crash si que son muy dolorosos!!!
Some good ol days right here.
IS THIS IN HUNGARY?
could you please show your videos???????? your flying? how many crashes???
is this the airshow where eveyone brings along there worst built, cheep and nasty plane
pekne! Skoda ze som tam nebol!....

landing at 7:50 is amazing
1971..you can tell by some of the hippies and handle bar moustaches...lol

They know more than you think.
Russians are flying like this with real planes too :-))) Most of it works 50% - just like the sound in this video. This is SOOO scale!!!
1:41 epic
YOU PROMISED NOT TO BREAK IT !
3.58 left rudder...LEFT RUDDER.....
2:31 is a p51 mustang
1:56...what type of a plane is that supposed to be!!! lol
This is funny demo airplane contest
6:20 "Yeah were 5 feet off the ground might as well try a vertical climb"
Towing a glider up in the air does'nt appear to work to well.
These guys keep the model plane manufactures in business.
man that last 1 sucked it looked like a real nice plane maybe the ailerons were reversed or something too bad such a shame lol
omg
back then my dad had 3 years
Klasse Video!!
Never said the planes were beginners. The pilots was what I was referring to.
rofl at 4.40 and 9.40, others are all common to me...
He probably moved up to prosthetics by now.
I tend to agree with you on all counts.
reversed aileron deflection
These people all make flying look a lot harder than it really is, all dressed up like princesses, too much money, not enough knowledge....
Christ!, look at all the FOD, did anyone bring a broom??.
Not much. This is for about 10 years.
NOT SLOVENSKO,SLOVAKIA,... but Slovenia-I think in Lesce sport airport
mir wurscht was der aus seinem tikka takka tukka land mir vorschwafelt
SAFETY FIRST!!!!!!!!!!
Purple jump suet at 4:20,you have to be stoned to wear something like that!!!!!! LMAO.
the folks have a fundamental misunderstanding bout landing an aircraft....on final, the power controls the rate of descent and the yoke controls the speed...……..they have it backwards....just watch..
5:17 anyone else think they might want some washout in that wing?
iam not sure why so many are crashing haha never seen so many in one day!
i was that kid lol
These were the days when we had to build our models and learn to fly them. Not like today, simulators and foam /electric a plenty. All too easy now. Not many true aeromodellers these days, who can say I built my aeroplane from scratch...
I built it
Tip stalls
Sh@ cg checks
Too much control surface deflection.
Idiots.
We will make new.
seems like ALOT of these guys never checked their CG's before flying, plenty of abnormal wing loading and stalls for no reason right at takeoff.
I was thinking the same thing. Over half look like they are tail heavy.
I'd take a guess at 95% of these crashes were due to Pilot Error!
right
Richard Simpson h
Seriously....who lets a 4 year old (ish) boy anywhere near a running nitro plane, much less hold on to the tail and wing root as it spools up.
So many crashes due to inferior petrol motors.... GO ELECTRIC!!!!!
Thank you for your comment.
Apparently no one knows how to tune an engine, check for correct throws, get the cg right, or land a plane...
