I figured now was a good time to revisit it. I first saw it around the time it was released. It only exists in 500 copies and is still available to buy so I imagine not very many have seen it before.
To quote Walt Kowalski from Gran Torino, "Damn Barbarians." Jesus, the slaughterinf of that bull was really sad. I thought we moved on from animal sacrifice. Guess some parts of the world weren't civilized enough.
"Christianity is so backward and brown, that's why so many Africans are Christian!!" the African "Christianity" in question: yeah I dunno guys, I don't remember anything in scripture about the apostles playing the bongos or chopping a bulls head off
Have seen ritualistic animal sacrifices in Nepal but these animals were not tortured and just killed within a second. Had to stop watching the video here when the bull was tortured.
Very understandable. It’s not something I enjoy watching either, I had to look away at first as well. Just posting for educational purposes. It’s safe to say this is the first and last time I post something like this. I think I will start to post more music from other continents (well, Asia anyway) than I have before. I was very into anthropology when I bought this and other DVDs in this category, but I still am as well, especially the musical aspects of other cultures.
@@Vingul Oh, please include some shamanistic music into your ethnomusical videos. In Nepal I stayed alltogether 1 year with tribal shamans and had some introduction.
@katipohl2431 That sounds like quite an experience. I know a tabla player from Nepal (she's really world class), but I haven't heard much recorded Nepalese music. I should discover more. It's funny you should mention the first part, because I downloaded some shamanistic ceremonial music from Korea just yesterday, but I haven't checked it out yet. We'll see!
Why didn't I just listen to the warning?

"I thought we moved on from animal sacrifice." I'd say the meat industry is animal sacrifice.
@@ephemeralsolidity1004 True, but I do like eating meat.

Sad pagans
"Pagans" do not have a monopoly on animal cruelty.
