OH WOW! I never would have thought of doing the foam dowels for this kind of thing. That's such a genius idea! Might try that as a test soon. Nothing specific, just random to test it out.
Nicely done, Britt! I have yet to style a wig, myself. Mostly because I was scared to try it. With you showing the way, perhaps I can step into the big time. Thank you for sharing with us!
You'd probably have an easier time styling wigs in the future with a few mild adjustments to your wig head. If you make the 'neck' at least a foot tall, it helps out a ton for longer wigs, and filling the head with weight makes it much easier to do things like braid, because it gives you something to pull back against without making the whole head shift.
aw man that turned out great. Thanks so much for talking about your process. I find myself when I start something new just searching around to check how people are tackling a task.
Had a thought about the shaved portion of the wig. Remove the stitching holding the hair, then mix black silicone and brush over the netting to match the slick, shiny bald skin. Great video. Keep ‘em coming.
This is awesome, I love how the horns attach!! Have you considered layering scissors to make the short parts look a little less blunt? It would look less rectangular and would sit against your head better if the ends were slightly softer.
Saw a cosplayer doing Loona from Healluva Boss and to do the side shave she cut the side of the wig off used that hair to puff up the rest and then dyed her own hair and slicked it back to be the 'shaved' side.
Mess with the hair... Get the ... Horns?? As a male can instantly see the benefits of a wig, the Mission Impossible transfiguration vibe is instant, just incredible. But the PVA foam building masterclass was also inspiring, ok it takes a LOT longer than the video... From the template to cutting to curving to bonding... I bet the heat gun takes some practice to get right.
Hi, im currently trying to make ichigo's sword from the tybw arc. Im having trouble figuring out how to make a black metal and making it shiny. They only thing I can think of is just primer and shint black spray paint but I have a hunch it would look more plastic than metal. Any tips?
Seems like it would work better with the hair melting if you used a wood block on the bottom maybe covered in parchment paper or a scrap of silpat and press it down.. Like a seal a meal
This looked amazing by the end! I absolutely get the "end-of-project lack of give-a-crap", you're seen and not alone.
Thank you so much!
Very cool problem solving with the wig. Cannot wait to see the full costume when it is completed.
Thank you!

Foam can fix everything!
My four-year-old daughter said you have the coolest job ever. We had a fun time watching along. Thanks for sharing!
Awe, that’s so wonderful! ❤️
Glitter free workspace is only ever a temporary joy. The glitter waits ever eager.
Grats on the 2 Day mark since your last accident. 😊
Once you glitter, it never goes away.
Now there's glitter is on the sign D:
I'm so excited for this series! Love seeing the costume come together piece by piece!
It's happening! \o/
Nice work! Using the foam dowel rods was a clever solution to attaching the horns. Looking forward to seeing what's next!

I’m always looking out for wig videos since it’s my weakest skill. This is great!
Thanks!
I made the head form for a hat display. Was so much fun to put together

Great video. Keep ‘em coming.
Or liquid latex
That's a pretty goo idea!
Love watching your problem solving, thanks for giving me the confidence to learn more about wig styling and make mistakes!
That's fantastic!

This looks awesome. I like that you can dye with ink and alcohol.
Thank you!
Really cool. And I like the foam, fix on the horns.
Thanks so much!
Looking awesome!!
Awe, thank you!
Occasionally when Britt was handling the wig, it just looked like a red and black tribble :)
The wig kept scaring me out of the corner of my eye, haha
Fantastic video thank you so much for the breakdown and links!
Best resource for wig styling: Jaymes Mansfield. I heart her.
You can use a lighter to melt the ends together too it’s a bit easier and cleaner
Awesome, thanks!
Gratz on wig completion!
Thank you! =)
Art Station is such a great resource! So many amazing artists.
Isn’t it??
A screwback concho would work just like a chicago screw. Easy to find at any local Tandy.
I just looked up what conchos are--they're beautiful!
@@punishedprops Honestly I thought that's where you were going to go with it originally; your way works too though.
It looks great! Fantastic job!
Thank you Sam!

Ooh clever solution!

This is beyond wild to watch. The way you destroy and then restore the wig... Looks great at the end!
Thanks!
I might have used that steamer and some rollers to give her hair texture and then shaped it. Looks good though
Fantastic!
TEIFLING BRITT!!! [2]
It's happening!
A lighter might be less messy for melting the ends of your hair. That's how its done with plastic rope.
Great idea!

That's worth a shot.
Oh this might be useful, im modifying a wig for a Star Wars Zabrak jedi character and im gonna need to attach horns
My horns are a lot smaller though, maybe I can adapt the button method
It never gets higher than 2. 😂
Awesome! Best of luck on your wig adventure.
Nice job kiddo.
Thanks!
