Cleghorn OHV offroad 3/22/20 (stock 2020 tacoma trd pro goes down chute)

- went out to cleghorn 3/22/2020 to meet up with two friends with 4runners. we ended up running into three more toyotas so we decided to hit the trail together. this trail isnt too difficult, in fact its pretty easy, but its a nice challenge for our pretty much stock trucks.
All obstacles are avoidable if you stay on the main fire road (2N47) which is a nice easy cruise with some nice views of the mountains and lake. usda.gov says Cleghorn Ridge OHV Road is 15.2 miles starting at the I-15 Cleghorn exit to HWY 138 at Silverwood Lake.
Stock vehicles: if its your first time at Cleghorn and you decide to go off the fire road and you come across a rock with a skull and a big X, you should definitely get off and check it out before you continue. with out big tires, and ground clearance you may come out with some minor body damage. I've taken my stock tacoma through twice. the first time I got through no damage but the second time I wasn't so lucky and took some damage to my passenger rocker panel. If you decide to continue just pick a line and use a spotter if you need to.

Lol all he needed was proper rock slides. He would of been fine. Props to him though

yeah and maybe some under carriage protection like skids plates. truck is a little low stock. you don't know your limits unless you push them right?

Yeah true if you can afford a trd pro you should probably be able to afford a nice lift kit and tires.
damn bro where are all the sliders at lol. full skid set (including rear diff) and sliders are the first thing after tires. Good thing that man told you to stop after clearing the high center on the front skid; based on his reaction it sounded like you were about to send your rear diff right into the rock
You don’t need sliders if you don’t care about your truck. That was hard to watch.
The last Boulder area got me good. Black yota needed to hug the wall. Spotter fucked up. Watched it again. Driver fucked up, spotter wasn't ready.

It seems to me that if each of you guys take a pair of oil changing ramps w/ you it would make it easier going over some of those rocks. You'll need wooden ones as metal one can puncture your tire if they flip w/ those sharp edges.

you can bypass the hardest parts, just stay on the fire road. this is a really good place to start off and put your vehicle to the test.

I just went through there today. Its way worse now. Every one of those lines big ledges and even big holes.....
Was there yesterday as well, can confirm! There’s some gnarly ruts even on the fire road now.

I took my stock f250 through the chute one time, only dented the door a little.

Just rear electric locker that came stock with the truck. It puts in work though.

I usually go anywhere between 15 and 20 psi.

no my tacoma is the TRD off-road so it is 4wd with rear electronic lockers. everything is stock mostly. but this truck never ceases to impress me.
