At some point it has to die. and with that many miles, it could go at anytime. so even if taken care of, who knows if he will be ok or not.
@@iluvmyeski Not true. He has the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8. That engine will last 400,000 easily. 200,000 miles really isn't a lot of miles on any naturally aspirated V8 engine. Same goes for the transmission.
For the mileage, that is in really good condition. Whilst you wait to get it detailed chop some lemons in half and put them inside the car. Cup holders might be a good place.
The lemons will absorb the cigarette smell.
I got it detailed already. I couldn't wait. It was horrible. 9 years of cigar smoke

@@TheStraightPipes Did the detailing job really get rid of 9 years worth of CIGAR smoke?!? Man... I'd imagine that thing was sauteed pretty good inside. Like all the way through the carpet, headliner, seat foam, etc. Can't imagine it would ever go away. That'd be a deal breaker for me - as I DESPISE cigarette - and especially cigar - smoke. I really hope they were able to get rid of it or at least make it tolerable for you. Hope you enjoy it! Looking forward to future videos about it. I really enjoy the work you guys do.
Arthur Embleton it would require you to remove all the plastics and clean the inside and outside of every single piece along with steam clean the carpet with a smoke odor neutralizer. No way one detail will remove all that tar and smoke odor.

Congrats on your purchase! Hopefully your area is not too far behind with the prowler, you guys deserve it as you certainly post quality content.
To help ease your drivetrain woes, look into draining a litre of transmission fluid out and putting in 1 L of fresh fluid and do that every 20 or so thousand kilometres and then you’ll have new fluid in the whole thing without causing damage. A lot of the manufacturers say that these fluids are lifetime but they are certainly not, your transmission fluid could look just like the differential. Those motors are fantastic as I’ve used them in my work. Excellent find m8!

Dude, it's a bug that you'll never be able to shake. I never wanted a truck either but the minute I put my foot down test driving a 2015 F-150 5.0...there was no going back. And it gets 23.8mpg hwy. It's unreal.

Laurenz Deganos exactly bro my dad passed me on his 2001 Ford F150 4.6 V8 with 398,000 miles same motor, transmission, Differential, from factory and still running strong he always maintenanced everything on time long story short take care of your car/truck and the truck/car will take care of you
Hi - I own a 2011. Bought it with 50k mi in mint condition. I daily drive it, now 147k mi. Stock except for exhaust. Love this truck. But I'd say it's more expensive than average to maintain. AC broke at 70k, steering troubles at 150k, radiator and trans cooler hose assembly failed at 130k. Rear main seal leak at 125k (fixed $$$). I stayed on top of all normal maintenance and wear items. Front struts replaced around 120k, rears still original but need soon. I absolutely love the power, ride, snow driving and 2 door short bed configuration. Can't afford new replacement so will keep it going! Might put up for sale this spring. Love you guys!

i just picked up a 2012 raptor 6.2 4door with 320,000 km excellent condition for 18k cad. needed brake cables, front shock rebuild, and cab corners. just had it safetied today and its a blast to drive!

Honestly, if I was in the market for a particular truck (even car), I would not hesitate to buy one with that many KMs on it. Especially when it's a big naturally aspirated V8... Most of these V8s are built to be bulletproof. Now, supercharged, turbo, etc... I'd pass most likely.

I don't like trucks, but I'll look through Raptor listings every once in a while. It's literally the toy truck you played with as a child, that you can fit inside of and drive. Jakub, if you jump it, let us know if you make the same noises a child does when they pretend to jump a toy truck.

Really cool truck and it looks like it was incredibly well cared for. I personally can't see spending $18k on an old, high-mileage used vehicle, but that's me. Enjoy your new ride!
I can tell you from working at an oil change, the drivetrain is rock solid, worry about window switches and mass airflow sensors instead. We had a regular customer with an f150 that had 770k miles before he finally sold it.
I own a body shop. I would recommend buying a side by side or dune buggy if you want to jump something. Jumping a full size truck ( even the Raptor ) is really sketchy. It's hard not to keep going bigger and bigger with your jumps. It only takes one bad landing to trash your truck beyond reasonable repair. Or hurt yourself

@@gallofinoalv A long travel kit adds both ground clearance and wheel travel. It helps absorb bumps while offroad and it allows you to drive faster offroad while still having a comfortable ride.
rjw22 thank you. is because i installed an upper A arms to level my truck with a 2.5” inch king shocks and i don’t know if i should do that or a mid travel kit since it’s a 2wd. I’m new at this lifting that’s why i need options.
Dude this is awesome! I'm wicked excited for you. That is a sweet looking truck, and in the right color too! I'm partial to the blue, but if you're going to drive a freaking Raptor, it might as well be bright orange with graphics.
Just watch that back bumper, those raptor bumpers were made thin so they can flex while truck is offroad, jumping , etc. .dont want one too rigid if you plan on jumping it. Great video i enjoy my 14 so much .

huge v8 with 350K km...not a problem. Engine hours are more important than km,and if the car was maintained well, no worries at all.
Ford makes the best V8 engines in the world.. Just give it a good maintenance and u are good..

Yeah this was a horrible purchase.
A couple of things to mention: Those are relatively newer shocks. You scored big on that as a new set would run you about 3k. The coolant will always go nasty, so relative cleaning out of the reservoir helps with the garbage that accumulates in there. The front Diffs are notorious for water. When the 4 wheel drive isn't used or the engine bay hosed down, they accumulate water, fairly easily, the intake is by the coolant reservoir, along with the transfer case breather. The upper control arms are a fairly easy repair, 134 us from tasca, and if you know what youre doing, about a half hour a side so you could have saved cash there. Never put regular gas in the truck, you get 11 more horses because of the higher octane, and v power keeps the cats spotless. Your mileage, depending on how you drive, will go down. I have a 2010 6.2 supercab and my average in the summer is around 14, winter (because of garbage gas and the anti freeze additive about 16.) Krown your truck as the rockers are absolutely notorious for rusting out, and it will help the rust underneath the truck out, Get a 5 star tuner and tune the engine, you will quickly realize that the shift patterns suck! Now most importantly, have a ton of fun with it. Southern Ontario has some pretty cool spots you can take it, and see what she can do. She likes those kinds of things!
Awesome, thanks for all the kind words and advice. Yeah the shocks were replaced (not rebuilt) last year. I don't have time to do anything myself beyond an oil change, brakes, etc, or other basic stuff anymore. Ben is great and while he fixes stuff I can edit videos, win win. I just replaced the rear window switch myself today which is apparently very common, and I'll be doing the belt next week. Ready to send
@@TheStraightPipes oh Yeah, i forgot, the rear caliper sliders are servicable without taking the wheels off. You can climb under there and even install new ones while its on the ground. That is a very common issue with my rig. The fronts, just service once or twice a year and you will never need new calipers.
