My mother saw one in Texas during the 80s on an all night road trip. I shouldn't say "it" but she says she saw what looked like a skinless grasshopper man running along side her car.

My ancestors called them Moon Eyed People and they lived in caves, long before my ancestors came there. Over a thousand years at least. This was Appalachian mountains in eastern US. At first they were at peace with them but the Moon Eyed Peoples started eating the freshly buried dead in my tribe and of course freaked them out! At war with them after that! I’ve seen footage of two of these tall pale people on the roof of a building in Mexico City. They were wearing cloaks, had very long necks but looked just like these Crawlers. They're real, I've seen one too. It was walking in the dark, disappeared behind a tree seconds after I saw it. I thought it was a hallucination, but I could hear it walking away for like a minute. One step after another, into the dark woods. No way was it a person. It was white/grey and tall. I used to work on my car outside at night, but not anymore. My sighting scared me pretty badly and had a very negative effect on me.
9:00 I witnessed something very very similar in 2010 when I only recently started driving alone (Belgium). It was past midnight when I was driving home on a long road with dark forest at either side. It would take 5 minutes or so to get to a village, so it wasn't like i was in the middle of nowhere. I was just trying to focus on the road when suddenly a pitch black creature ran towards the car from my left side. I thought it was an animal that wanted to cross and it would definately hit the car. Instead, it started running along with my car which was driving around 90km/h. For around 3 seconds it continued to run alongside with me. After a few seconds, i believe it turned left again, back into the woods. I was scared beyond belief and i probably never ever drove as hard as i did to get away from that thing. Everything happened so fast, the only thing i was able to identify was that the creature was pitch black, running on four legs like a canine and it was large enough to see it running next to me from my car window. To this day i try to convince myself it was a wolf or a dog that was just startled. Only weird thing about it was it's speed, it could keep up with me for seconds which is unbelievable.

I was chased by a crawler in northern Ontario and when it finally caught me, it gave me my car keys that I had dropped on the trail. They are very polite up here.
Don’s encounter is very similar to something that myself and my boyfriend experienced a few months ago...we live in Thailand Chiang Mai and at night we often like to go on joyrides outside of the city on less used farm roads...this happened in August 2020, we were riding down one of the small roads we’ve taken before, there wasn’t any traffic on the road that night and the motorcycle headlight wasn’t super bright so only a small portion of the road ahead of us was illuminated when this white, hairless thing the size of a large dog with long legs lunged out at us from the side of the road at us and ran side by side with our motorcycle..my boyfriend swerved to avoid it into the oncoming lane and this thing ran beside the bike snapping at us for a few seconds before it ran off to the side of the road...I got a decent look at its face, it had no ears and a head shaped like a rat...it’s teeth seemed dog-like...we kept riding until we got to a gas station where we stopped, I asked my bf wtf that thing was and he had no idea but was really dismissive of the idea that it was anything else but a dog, he still won’t talk about it and doesn’t want to take that road again at night...I’m not exactly sure what I saw, it all happened very fast but from what I did see I am sure that thing wasn’t a dog...I think about it all the time, I really want to figure out what it is...I really do think it might be a crawler/pale man
I lived in Slender Man's house and let me tell ya it's not all it's cracked up to be. The water pressure sucks and it's real drafty in the winter. The rent is also very high. All in all Slendy is a slumlord & he took my security deposit.
One quick addendum to my other comment below: It is very common among the demographic of people who HAVE witnessed these creatures to see them either (1) dart out in front of their vehicle at night, or (2) run “at” or alongside the vehicle for a short ways. This is very unique/unusual behavior as compared to any other nocturnal predator in the animal kingdom. What if they’re intelligent “enough” to know that they could potentially cause a car accident and “scavenge” the resultant body? Possibly intelligent enough to learn from witnessing animals cause accidents- maybe even prey that they’ve pursued into roadways. Also: If you dig into Indigenous American Mythology (truly dig) you can find obscure, rarely-mentioned creatures that match this description within their folklore and spiritual beliefs. There is some precedent there, it’s not entirely a modern thing.
Im a night owl. Used to work nights for a decade. I still go out for plenty of drives super late in country roads in northern alberta. I have seen lots of weird stuff. Lights that come straight at me and disappear, strange floating lights, large animals. Never seen anything like this. Honestly hope i never do.
Kids were telling stories of the tall skinny child eating monster man back in 1970 and '71 when I walked to school in 1st grade. We had to pass thru a short wooded area next to an avocado farm that could appear gloomy due to tall trees lining both sides of the road. It was several years after moving away that I finally realized it wasn't an actual child eating beast but a story used by older kids to scare us.

I have seen this thing as well, but it was in Arizona. Driving very late at night up Mingus Mountain. The creature was a blur as it crossed in front of the car, but it paused and looked at us before it crawled over the road barrier. It had whitish skin, long and langy with a bald head and cataract looking eyes. Very creepy and scarest thing I have seen and will never forget it for the rest of my life. My husband who was driving does not recall seeing it, but I was freaking out and asked him, did you see that thing?
I saw the same exact creature in northeast Pennsylvania. It ran in front of me after I hit 75. I braced for impact and nothing happened. I looked in the mirror and it was already over the sidewalk disappearing off the side of the road. I have a brief memory of its head accelerating forward as I turned bracing for impact like it had accelerated forward and avoided getting smashed. It's been 2 or so months and I'm still baffled at what happened. Its body was shimmery/translucent and white. Its hands where like a mix between paws and human hands. And it was crawl running in this crazy galloping motion, I didn't get a good look at its eyes as it stepped in front of my car but thinking back on it, out of my peripheral I can remember its eyes where slighly glowing in the dark but I didn't get a good look at its eyes or mouth once I was driving fast and it was crawling like it was fired out of a cannon. I'm pretty happy this thing showed itself to me that day because at least now I know these things are out there and so is probably a lot of other creatures.
My first thought was a large wolf with mange or some other disease that would cause the fur to fall out. I've seen it on other species here in central B.C., and it can make identification quite difficult sometimes. Even in good lighting
I also surmised it was a wolverine or mongoose with mange. They commonly look terrifying and yeah, hard to identify because they will scratch their ears right off till they're stumps. The girl tho, her story and sketch r something different.
As much as I would agree with you guys I've seen one, almost hit it and it freaked me out to this day. They are so fast there is no way a manged poor healthed animal is gonna be fast enough to get in front of my car right after I accelerated to 75 and it was 2 steps from being in front. My ex husband saw this back in 2006 in downtown of Strathmore Alberta. I was there, I just didn't look out our back window facing the alley like he did. We both saw 2 flashes of bright white light which prompted him to go take a look. A car drove down the alley just before this too and i wonder what they might've seen. Those bright flashes weren't car lights either. Way to bright and they came on like they were on a dimmer switch, increasing in brightness then decreasing, each flash maybe taking about 4 seconds. He saw it on all fours duck behind a large garbage bin before the car drove by. Found out some years later what it was he saw. We've never heard of such thing before, creepy.

There’s a book on Egregores by Mark Stavish that’s a great read. It’s a good theory but from what I understand Egregores are not physical though they can manifest themselves like an apparition. These crawlers are physical and solid. There’s also something called the Fresno nightcrawler that’s different but possibly related. Worth checking into! Also caught on CCTV and appear completely physical and solid. My ancestors have stories about a race of milky white skinned people they called the Moon Eyed People. They were named that supposedly because their eyes were too sensitive for daylight. Historians thought that maybe the Native American people called them moon eyed because they were a blue color. It would make total sense to me that my ancestors called them moon eyed because their eyes glowed like the moon. In the images and video footage I’ve seen of these crawlers their eyes do glow like that. Allegedly they lived in caves. My theory is that with all the fracking and drilling underground from the oil companies it has brought the subterranean peoples up to the surface and that’s why there have been so many sightings. By the way, my ancestors were originally at peace with the Moon Eyed people but they began eating our dead and then they were not friends anymore! There is also an ancient effigy of the moon eyed people and they look just like the crawlers. If you Google “Cherokee Moon Eyed people you’ll see an image of it”. It’s spooky!
If you look at a map of where the 411 missing people cases occur and compare it to a map of the cave systems of the US, you'll see that the two maps exactly coincide. It seems probable that whatever is causing all the missing people is something that comes out of caves.

It's an environment in and of itself. Perhaps drawing from not only the plane surroundings of the natural world, as captured by our more dominant sense's. But also the environment collectively. With it's moods, cycles, relationships and awareness (If that makes sense.) Though not always perceptible. However all around us, the subtle energies and wavelengths are picked up like on 2 ends of a CB Radio and the waves are able to take form, as sound and language. like radio frequencies or carrier waves, from different levels of awareness that are transformed and become recognizable, comprehensible to the "inner sense's" so to speak. Perhaps there is a element of co-creation inherent. Like if similar equal or opposite "signals" become engaged somehow...

I once stumbled across this TH-cam channel about most terrifying things caught on camera/trail cam and in this one clip this man pulled over on the highway to have a cigarette and said he could smell a stench so he wondered off the highway into the bush just a few metres and out of nowhere this white hairless humanoid creature that looked like a crawler started chasing him, it just brushed out of the forest from nowhere and the way it manoeuvred through the bush on all fours and so swiftly and agile it honestly resembled the rake or crawler. I think you would find this footage to be rather fascinating and match the description spoken about by the witnesses in your video! Love your channel and these kind of videos pls keep them coming.!
I’ve seen something that’s similar but what i saw was very tall and fast- My husband and i coming home in the middle of the night took a shortcut down Wharton Wheems road from hwy 146 to old hwy 146 to Shore Acres Tx. It’s a two lane farm road that sits high between a landscape of swamp, scrub trees and thicket - sometimes it floods real bad there. From our left we saw it leaping in great long strides towards the road in front of us - when it leapt on the road in front of us it turned its head sideways and i swear it looked as if it was grinning. It was an ashy white skeletal figure but leaning backwards at an angle with long hands legs and feet. If it stood erect i’m guessing it would’ve been 10 to 11 feet high. I don’t know what else to say except that it terrified us - my husband never wanted to talk about it and i doubt he ever did with anyone else - he knew they probably wouldn’t have believed him anyway.
More people need dash cams. I was driving through Plainview Texas on the interstate and I saw a 3 foot tall green skinned little person run across the highway. It scared the hell out of me and my wife woke up out of a dead sleep. She must’ve felt that something was wrong. It was very strange. I wish I had a camera to capture it. I didn’t learn my lesson and years later I actually saw a giant wolf creature in Colorado that defied explanation that I wish I had captured on the dash cam that I never got
theres a rabbit in the trail-cam part of the video right in the middle behind the tree, you can clearly see the ears and eye reflection. along with is a rabbit tail on the other side of the tree. That's what caused the camera to shutter.
I came across a theory, that we, the people who read and watch these videos about cryptids etc, that our collective imagination is "willing them into being".. enough people think about them and they just pop up in to reality... I thought it was an interesting take on these creatures that people claim to see and how some creatures are very localized and some are worldwide..

I saw something walking away from a deer dead on the road that was really tall and white. I was too scared to focus on it, so I never got a great look. I just remember it was walking into the forest as I was driving up to the deer and swerving to avoid it. It scared me more than anything in my life. I don't believe in ghosts and shit. I am still not sure if I really saw anything. It's just my fear. I have never felt that sort of fear expect when I felt my life was in danger in some way.
You probably saw a crawler sounds like what I saw, they almost don't look fully physical. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this creature running in front of my car and somehow it got around being hit at 75mph.
I was driving one night in Mn. out in the country with my girlfriend, it was about 11:00pm at night in the winter, temps were about 10 degrees or so and about a foot of snow on the ground. The snow brightens everything in the headlights so what appears in front is real visible. So, were driving along about 45 mph and this thing hobbles across road about a hundred yards ahead of us on all fours, looked like a disfigured animal or something with no hair, white skin and almost like it was gliding along. It had crossed the road by the time we got about 30 yards from it. I kept driving and about 30 seconds later I looked over at her and said "Did you just see that thing cross the road?" She says, "Don't talk about it" Now, she has in the past and even today seen shadow figures and sometimes hallucinations when tired or anxiety strikes her, I said "I'm not so sure your experiences are all illusion, cause I saw it too" She said "I said, don't talk about it" and that was that!

He called it a Skinwalker, but it was very similar, and its eyes glowed. Other people have claimed to see similar creatures. I don't know if I believe it, but I think anything is possible.
I believe these creatures are a variation of Hominin adaptation (Nocturnal-Subterranean; past environment catastrophe?) and would inspire the fictional versions later on. Denisovan Antecessor There are a few hominin candidates who share certain similarities. I think this is what the "Wendigo" truly are.

If you want to see one, there is a video on TH-cam where a traveler goes into a private zoo in a backward country in the former U.S.S.R. wherein a barn locked in a steel cage is one of these creatures. This video is short, and you only get one look at it as cameras were not allowed. I have seen several pics of this creature & they have the ability to project light from their eyes that will light up an area about 4 or five feet in front of them. I cannot find any reports of these things causing harm to humans, but they will give chase to anyone too close to them. I have found that these creatures have been seen in several different places, like old mines, buildings, storm drains, tunnels, and wooded areas. When I was in the military I was briefed on several different beings and creatures, but this is a new one. Just what they are or where they may have come from is unknown. I worked with Don Herbert well over 25 yrs in the mine . He is one of the most down to earth and honest person I know. He used to go to the deep woods stayed overnight by himself and has no fear or any strange feeling over him . But after the encounter with the unknown creature , he has the strange feeling n fear of the woods speak a lot of the encounter had changed him.
I seen a strange critter 3 years ago.. I was driving down the Irish settlement rd in NB Canada.. There was snow banks and snow on road.. it was about 3 feet long with a tail of about 1 foot.. I've lived in the woods for years.. and know all the critters.. this thing was something I did not know of.. Was all black.. had a long muzzle. .red eyes. Long ears which was up right.. a small chest and very short front legs. At its mid rift it's hind quarters were very large with big hind legs twice as long as the front legs....it's tail was the shape of a cone. Very thick at the rump and going to a point at the tip.. I was doing around 30 mph as it came to the center of road. As soon as my lights hit it .it's turned its head away and leaped. It cleared the other snow bank by at least 25 to 30 feet .. and the next leap it took ..took it well into the trees.. I E braked to keep my lights on it.. but it just vanished.. like I said..I know all the critters in NB.. that thing was nothing I have ever seen before. .twice as fast as a deer at least.. 2 nights later I went back and parked in the big fields up the road.. after about 20 min I heard calls that I never heard before.. loud and screeching. . Never seen anything but could not help but hear it... there is strange things we do not know about... FOR NOW ANYWAY..
To be fair, aside from being a pale, lanky humanoid that oftentimes walks on all fours, there are stark differences that differentiate the creatures described in the majority of sightings and the supposed progenitor from the creepy pasta..... Almost always absent from sightings are the 3 green eyes and no noticeable mouth feature which are pretty big hallmarks of the made up creation just to be regularly omitted yet confidently claimed to be creatures one and the same.
I’ve seen a beast exactly like this one last summer. It had a very long tail, that was able to go around it’s waist. It tried sniffing us out, but it attacked the humongous dog next door. It didn’t kill the dog, it just flew away after scaring the shit out of it. When I seen it, it looked to be 6 feet tall, walking on all fours and it had beige skin or fur. Also had small spots it’s back. It reminded me of a kangaroo, but it would never survive up North.

There’s many new schools being built in the isolated towns of Ontario, Canada. Once the clear cutting began, the beings appeared. In my town there was a herd of ancient humans, more wild than man that were around from May until October. They were 8 feet tall, with the child 6 feet tall. 3 others towns have had Jeepers Creepers or the Mothman visit their towns multiple times. 2 of those same towns have also seen a Goatman being a nuisance to ppl out at night.

EXACT same thing happened to my wife and I... but ours was what looked exactly like a HYENA, in NY! Ours was following deer off the mountain and stood in the road staring at us for like 15 seconds. When I called NYS depof ENCON, no one believed me. In fact, they errantly sent us and email in a chain that was making fun of us! I grew up in the woods, weened on Animal Planet and Willd Kingdom. I even called the local game farm to see if something got lose. The next month I saw the exact same anial on Monster Quest. As for the BC video, I looked at that over and over and actually think it wasnt ON THE WINDSHIELD, but reflecting from somewhere in the car ONTO THE VIDEO. Mine, or sjould I say OURS, my wife and I, was completely real. In fact, we even saw it again a few nights later!
I saw a video of man was trying to see what was walking through the woods towards him and as it came into view it looked just like that and it chased him and it did not look photoshopped and the guy sounded genuinely terrified
Rake looking creatures have been seen for a longer length of time than the supposed 'invention' of as a creepypasta character. My friend who lives a couple hours away in Murrieta CA (desert town) saw one late at night crawling in an inhuman manner in her neighbors driveway and by their car on the street. When she told me this last year, she had never heard of anything like a Rake. I was the one who told her after her description was the same as others I'd heard of. She won't walk in her neighborhood at night anymore.

I braced and turned my head, thought this thing was about to get smashed. It sped up and got around my car and I looked in the mirror and it was disappearing aross the sidewalk. It had a round bald head, and pale white/gray translucent skin and its hands were so strange. Claw like hands that looked like paws but also kind of like hands, hard to explain. And it ran so fast, it was like if I had blinked I wouldn't have seen it and it made question weather I saw a ghost or something supernatural.
@@MrDuffy81 It happened in northeast Pennsylvania by a place called the pink apple in tunkannock, pink apple is now closed down but I still vividly remember it crossing the sidewalk by the hotel that is across from pink apple after I almost hit it. I heard a theory that these things eat the decaying soul of the deceased which was a very very odd theory someone suggested because slighly up the road was a church and I think it has dead buried there. I will never forget seeing that creature though, one of the most paranormal experiences of my life.

The creatures from The Descent film as an inspiration do match up perfectly in time with the creation of the Rake, both coming out in 2005. If he had seen one in real life, it would be called a crawler... the Rake name should be specifically used only for his fictional creepypasta character.
It's what's referred to as a tulpa. The energy focused towards something then materializes. Although I'm sure this happens I believe these were here long before creepy pasta decided to create it.
This is very credible to me because i have seen something very similar in switzerland a few years ago , in good detail and I have every reason to remain assured that it was not any sort of prank. It was casually sitting right on the side of the road and looking at us , as we slowly drove by. It was late and we were the only moving car around. The road there is a long straight stretch with a low speed limit, so i noticed it from far away and was wondering why would a person be ducking down there at such hour or any hour for that matter and as we gradually approached , i was rewarded with a very unexpected sighting. You are on the right kind of thinking. The Secret Book of Enoch or The secrets of the Book of Enoch (same Book of Antiquity but 2 different titles from the 2 different translations) holds the keys to these mysteries. I found a lot of answers also in The Kolbrin bible, which is a Celtic book. These 2 books seem to back each other up, whereas the Christian bible has only vague references to these secrets and mysteries. I use to really enjoy watching paranormal videos. I liked to analyze them and decide if they were basically real or fake. Alot of them were videos that were simply taken from someone and given a new scary backstory.These days I find myself getting angry at the stuff I find. Most of the channels are so lazy that they either just keep showing the same old videos in a never ending cycle or one guy will do some work and find new videos than a dozen other guys steal their entire compilation and post it on their own channel.

What kills it for me is when they throw in videos that are just obviously really bad cgi but then they act like they can't tell if it's real. Like I get that it might be hard to get enough really good ones to put in every video but at least don't fill in the space with ones that are just obviously and really badly faked
Seems like the best of them follow reddit streams and repost with some dialogue added. It's a news feed I suppose but unfortunately no way to know fact from fiction. Probably the best of all the paranormal channels right now is the Darkest Secret who I think get most of their material from subscribers and I've seen amazing original stuff there. Also pretty open about potential fakes and will show how they test that. Frostmare is another good one though he'll include obvious fakes unfortunately. He has actually worked as a paranormal investigator so does have that background and has alot of very compelling captures. Hope that helps. There are many terrible ones but not all!
The Ghoul, or zombie looking creatures have been seen and recorded for millennia. They are always described the same, and the Rake was just someone ripping off the original Ghoul. I know several people who told me they have seen them, and had no idea wtf a rake or ghoul was, but described them as corpses, or zombie like dead people, but the resemblance is completely uncanny. And it was exactly the same.

I have a feeling I might’ve encountered one of these things. I used to have a cabin at Candle Lake in northern Saskatchewan. When I was 8, 9ish, I wanted to sleep outside in a tent with my dad. He set up a tent outside and we went in for the night. It was about midnight, I remember because I got scared and ran inside the cabin later on. Anyways, we were about to go to sleep and we heard something walking in the driveway. We assumed it was a deer because they would walk through our yard and graze often. That was until it made a sound. It was a horrifying howl, unlike a wolf, fox, cougar or lynx. Not even like an elk either. It was terrifying. Even my dad was confused. When we were sure whatever it was left, I ran back into the cabin, where my mom was waiting for me. She too heard the sound and wanted to see what it was but it left before she could. If anyone else who has been or is currently at Candle Lake has heard that foreign howl, please let me know. I really wish I could go back up there and try to search for that thing but given how big the area is it will be hard. Also, for anyone wondering, this was near the south end of the airport.
I don't know why people would think that if a creature has longer arms or legs than would normally be seen as in proportion, would have a hard time using them.!🙄!. Whatever the length of an appendage, ANY animal would be EXPERT at using them, having been BORN that way.! Of course they'd be able to use them PROPERLY.!🙄!. If suddenly, you were given arms that were twice as long as normal, then they'd take a bit of getting used to. But if you were BORN with them, you'd be an EXPERT as well.

The photos and drawing of the Canadian crawler highly resembles a creature that has been seen for decades in South Texas called the Kucabara (sp?). I friend of mine had seen this thing just off his property around the San Antonio area but in the country. My friend went hunting for this thing and one night the head lights of his truck caught this thing on the side of the road. I saw the photo and it looked like this thing. Very scary looking! No.. I’m convinced these creatures are REAL.

Very creepy story, I became quite jumpy after hearing these accounts. I just don't know what to think, I keep thinking of the comment made in the Frank Graves interview regarding the remote Nahanni valley, something about "anything could be there", (sorry I couldn't remember exact quote) and that is very plausible when you think of some the remote heavily wooded areas in the world.

They're real, I've seen one too. It was walking in the dark, disappeared behind a tree seconds after I saw it. I thought it was a hallucination, but I could hear it walking away for like a minute. One step after another, into the dark woods. No way was it a person. It was white/grey and tall. I used to work on my car outside at night, but not anymore. My sighting scared me pretty badly and had a very negative effect on me.

9:00 I witnessed something very very similar in 2010 when I only recently started driving alone (Belgium). It was past midnight when I was driving home on a long road with dark forest at either side. It would take 5 minutes or so to get to a village, so it wasn't like i was in the middle of nowhere. I was just trying to focus on the road when suddenly a pitch black creature ran towards the car from my left side. I thought it was an animal that wanted to cross and it would definately hit the car. Instead, it started running along with my car which was driving around 90km/h. For around 3 seconds it continued to run alongside with me. After a few seconds, i believe it turned left again, back into the woods. I was scared beyond belief and i probably never ever drove as hard as i did to get away from that thing. Everything happened so fast, the only thing i was able to identify was that the creature was pitch black, running on four legs like a canine and it was large enough to see it running next to me from my car window. To this day i try to convince myself it was a wolf or a dog that was just startled. Only weird thing about it was it's speed, it could keep up with me for seconds which is unbelievable.

Don’s encounter is very similar to something that myself and my boyfriend experienced a few months ago...we live in Thailand Chiang Mai and at night we often like to go on joyrides outside of the city on less used farm roads...this happened in August 2020, we were riding down one of the small roads we’ve taken before, there wasn’t any traffic on the road that night and the motorcycle headlight wasn’t super bright so only a small portion of the road ahead of us was illuminated when this white, hairless thing the size of a large dog with long legs lunged out at us from the side of the road at us and ran side by side with our motorcycle..my boyfriend swerved to avoid it into the oncoming lane and this thing ran beside the bike snapping at us for a few seconds before it ran off to the side of the road...I got a decent look at its face, it had no ears and a head shaped like a rat...it’s teeth seemed dog-like...we kept riding until we got to a gas station where we stopped, I asked my bf wtf that thing was and he had no idea but was really dismissive of the idea that it was anything else but a dog, he still won’t talk about it and doesn’t want to take that road again at night...I’m not exactly sure what I saw, it all happened very fast but from what I did see I am sure that thing wasn’t a dog...I think about it all the time, I really want to figure out what it is...I really do think it might be a crawler/pale man

One quick addendum to my other comment below: It is very common among the demographic of people who HAVE witnessed these creatures to see them either (1) dart out in front of their vehicle at night, or (2) run “at” or alongside the vehicle for a short ways. This is very unique/unusual behavior as compared to any other nocturnal predator in the animal kingdom. What if they’re intelligent “enough” to know that they could potentially cause a car accident and “scavenge” the resultant body? Possibly intelligent enough to learn from witnessing animals cause accidents- maybe even prey that they’ve pursued into roadways. Also: If you dig into Indigenous American Mythology (truly dig) you can find obscure, rarely-mentioned creatures that match this description within their folklore and spiritual beliefs. There is some precedent there, it’s not entirely a modern thing.
Im a night owl. Used to work nights for a decade. I still go out for plenty of drives super late in country roads in northern alberta. I have seen lots of weird stuff. Lights that come straight at me and disappear, strange floating lights, large animals. Never seen anything like this. Honestly hope i never do.

We had to pass thru a short wooded area next to an avocado farm that could appear gloomy due to tall trees lining both sides of the road. It was several years after moving away that I finally realized it wasn't an actual child eating beast but a story used by older kids to scare us.

I have seen this thing as well, but it was in Arizona. Driving very late at night up Mingus Mountain. The creature was a blur as it crossed in front of the car, but it paused and looked at us before it crawled over the road barrier. It had whitish skin, long and langy with a bald head and cataract looking eyes. Very creepy and scarest thing I have seen and will never forget it for the rest of my life. My husband who was driving does not recall seeing it, but I was freaking out and asked him, did you see that thing?
I saw the same exact creature in northeast Pennsylvania. It ran in front of me after I hit 75. I braced for impact and nothing happened. I looked in the mirror and it was already over the sidewalk disappearing off the side of the road. I have a brief memory of its head accelerating forward as I turned bracing for impact like it had accelerated forward and avoided getting smashed. It's been 2 or so months and I'm still baffled at what happened. Its body was shimmery/translucent and white. Its hands where like a mix between paws and human hands. And it was crawl running in this crazy galloping motion, I didn't get a good look at its eyes as it stepped in front of my car but thinking back on it, out of my peripheral I can remember its eyes where slighly glowing in the dark but I didn't get a good look at its eyes or mouth once I was driving fast and it was crawling like it was fired out of a cannon. I'm pretty happy this thing showed itself to me that day because at least now I know these things are out there and so is probably a lot of other creatures.
My first thought was a large wolf with mange or some other disease that would cause the fur to fall out. I've seen it on other species here in central B.C., and it can make identification quite difficult sometimes. Even in good lighting
I also surmised it was a wolverine or mongoose with mange. They commonly look terrifying and yeah, hard to identify because they will scratch their ears right off till they're stumps. The girl tho, her story and sketch r something different.

My ex husband saw this back in 2006 in downtown of Strathmore Alberta. I was there, I just didn't look out our back window facing the alley like he did. We both saw 2 flashes of bright white light which prompted him to go take a look. A car drove down the alley just before this too and i wonder what they might've seen. Those bright flashes weren't car lights either. Way to bright and they came on like they were on a dimmer switch, increasing in brightness then decreasing, each flash maybe taking about 4 seconds. He saw it on all fours duck behind a large garbage bin before the car drove by. Found out some years later what it was he saw. We've never heard of such thing before, creepy.

There’s a book on Egregores by Mark Stavish that’s a great read. It’s a good theory but from what I understand Egregores are not physical though they can manifest themselves like an apparition. These crawlers are physical and solid. There’s also something called the Fresno nightcrawler that’s different but possibly related. Worth checking into! Also caught on CCTV and appear completely physical and solid.
My ancestors have stories about a race of milky white skinned people they called the Moon Eyed People. They were named that supposedly because their eyes were too sensitive for daylight. Historians thought that maybe the Native American people called them moon eyed because they were a blue color. It would make total sense to me that my ancestors called them moon eyed because their eyes glowed like the moon. In the images and video footage I’ve seen of these crawlers their eyes do glow like that. Allegedly they lived in caves. My theory is that with all the fracking and drilling underground from the oil companies it has brought the subterranean peoples up to the surface and that’s why there have been so many sightings. By the way, my ancestors were originally at peace with the Moon Eyed people but they began eating our dead and then they were not friends anymore! I once stumbled across this TH-cam channel about most terrifying things caught on camera/trail cam and in this one clip this man pulled over on the highway to have a cigarette and said he could smell a stench so he wondered off the highway into the bush just a few metres and out of nowhere this white hairless humanoid creature that looked like a crawler started chasing him, it just brushed out of the forest from nowhere and the way it manoeuvred through the bush on all fours and so swiftly and agile it honestly resembled the rake or crawler. I think you would find this footage to be rather fascinating and match the description spoken about by the witnesses in your video!

I’ve seen something that’s similar but what i saw was very tall and fast- My husband and i coming home in the middle of the night took a shortcut down Wharton Wheems road from hwy 146 to old hwy 146 to Shore Acres Tx. It’s a two lane farm road that sits high between a landscape of swamp, scrub trees and thicket - sometimes it floods real bad there. From our left we saw it leaping in great long strides towards the road in front of us - when it leapt on the road in front of us it turned its head sideways and i swear it looked as if it was grinning. It was an ashy white skeletal figure but leaning backwards at an angle with long hands legs and feet. If it stood erect i’m guessing it would’ve been 10 to 11 feet high. I don’t know what else to say except that it terrified us - my husband never wanted to talk about it and i doubt he ever did with anyone else - he knew they probably wouldn’t have believed him anyway.
More people need dash cams. I was driving through Plainview Texas on the interstate and I saw a 3 foot tall green skinned little person run across the highway. It scared the hell out of me and my wife woke up out of a dead sleep. She must’ve felt that something was wrong. It was very strange. I wish I had a camera to capture it. I didn’t learn my lesson and years later I actually saw a giant wolf creature in Colorado that defied explanation that I wish I had captured on the dash cam that I never got

I saw something walking away from a deer dead on the road that was really tall and white. I was too scared to focus on it, so I never got a great look. I just remember it was walking into the forest as I was driving up to the deer and swerving to avoid it. It scared me more than anything in my life. I don't believe in ghosts and shit. I am still not sure if I really saw anything. It's just my fear. I have never felt that sort of fear expect when I felt my life was in danger in some way.
You probably saw a crawler sounds like what I saw, they almost don't look fully physical. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this creature running in front of my car and somehow it got around being hit at 75mph.
I was driving one night in Mn. out in the country with my girlfriend, it was about 11:00pm at night in the winter, temps were about 10 degrees or so and about a foot of snow on the ground. The snow brightens everything in the headlights so what appears in front is real visible. So, were driving along about 45 mph and this thing hobbles across road about a hundred yards ahead of us on all fours, looked like a disfigured animal or something with no hair, white skin and almost like it was gliding along. It had crossed the road by the time we got about 30 yards from it. I kept driving and about 30 seconds later I looked over at her and said "Did you just see that thing cross the road?" She says, "Don't talk about it" Now, she has in the past and even today seen shadow figures and sometimes hallucinations when tired or anxiety strikes her, I said "I'm not so sure your experiences are all illusion, cause I saw it too" She said "I said, don't talk about it" and that was that!
The Monster came first. On the Paranormal Rangers episode of Netflix's Unsolved Mysteries, one of the Arizona Navajo Rangers saw one of these creatures in 1986. He called it a Skinwalker, but it was very similar, and its eyes glowed. Other people have claimed to see similar creatures. I don't know if I believe it, but I think anything is possible.

I have seen several pics of this creature & they have the ability to project light from their eyes that will light up an area about 4 or five feet in front of them. I cannot find any reports of these things causing harm to humans, but they will give chase to anyone too close to them. I have found that these creatures have been seen in several different places, like old mines, buildings, storm drains, tunnels, and wooded areas. When I was in the military I was briefed on several different beings and creatures, but this is a new one. Just what they are or where they may have come from is unknown. I worked with Don Herbert well over 25 yrs in the mine . He is one of the most down to earth and honest person I know. He used to go to the deep woods stayed overnight by himself and has no fear or any strange feeling over him . I was driving down the Irish settlement rd in NB Canada..
There was snow banks and snow on road.. it was about 3 feet long with a tail of about 1 foot.. I've lived in the woods for years.. and know all the critters.. this thing was something I did not know of..
Was all black.. had a long muzzle. .red eyes. Long ears which was up right.. a small chest and very short front legs. At its mid rift it's hind quarters were very large with big hind legs twice as long as the front legs....it's tail was the shape
of a cone. Very thick at the rump and going to a point at the tip..
I was doing around 30 mph as it came to the center of road. As soon as my lights hit it .it's turned its head away and leaped. It cleared the other snow bank by at least 25 to 30 feet .. and the next leap it took ..took it well into the trees.. I E braked to keep my lights on it.. but it just vanished.. like I said..I know all the critters in NB.. that thing was nothing I have ever seen before. .twice as fast as a deer at least.. 2 nights later I went back and parked in the big fields up the road.. after about 20 min I heard calls that I never heard before.. loud and screeching. . Never seen anything but could not help but hear it... there is strange things we do not know about... FOR NOW ANYWAY..

To be fair, aside from being a pale, lanky humanoid that oftentimes walks on all fours, there are stark differences that differentiate the creatures described in the majority of sightings and the supposed progenitor from the creepy pasta..... Almost always absent from sightings are the 3 green eyes and no noticeable mouth feature which are pretty big hallmarks of the made up creation just to be regularly omitted yet confidently claimed to be creatures one and the same.
I’ve seen a beast exactly like this one last summer. It had a very long tail, that was able to go around it’s waist. It tried sniffing us out, but it attacked the humongous dog next door. It didn’t kill the dog, it just flew away after scaring the shit out of it. When I seen it, it looked to be 6 feet tall, walking on all fours and it had beige skin or fur. Also had small spots it’s back. It reminded me of a kangaroo, but it would never survive up North.

There’s many new schools being built in the isolated towns of Ontario, Canada. Once the clear cutting began, the beings appeared. In my town there was a herd of ancient humans, more wild than man that were around from May until October. They were 8 feet tall, with the child 6 feet tall. 3 others towns have had Jeepers Creepers or the Mothman visit their towns multiple times. 2 of those same towns have also seen a Goatman being a nuisance to ppl out at night.

EXACT same thing happened to my wife and I... but ours was what looked exactly like a HYENA, in NY! Ours was following deer off the mountain and stood in the road staring at us for like 15 seconds. When I called NYS depof ENCON, no one believed me. In fact, they errantly sent us and email in a chain that was making fun of us! I grew up in the woods, weened on Animal Planet and Willd Kingdom. I even called the local game farm to see if something got lose. The next month I saw the exact same anial on Monster Quest. As for the BC video, I looked at that over and over and actually think it wasnt ON THE WINDSHIELD, but reflecting from somewhere in the car ONTO THE VIDEO. Mine, or sjould I say OURS, my wife and I, was completely real. In fact, we even saw it again a few nights later!

I saw a video of man was trying to see what was walking through the woods towards him and as it came into view it looked just like that and it chased him and it did not look photoshopped and the guy sounded genuinely terrified

Rake looking creatures have been seen for a longer length of time than the supposed 'invention' of as a creepypasta character. My friend who lives a couple hours away in Murrieta CA (desert town) saw one late at night crawling in an inhuman manner in her neighbors driveway and by their car on the street. When she told me this last year, she had never heard of anything like a Rake. I was the one who told her after her description was the same as others I'd heard of. She won't walk in her neighborhood at night anymore.
I almost hit one, had no clue what I was seeing and it was about 2 steps from getting in front of my car and I had just gassed up to 75. I braced and turned my head, thought this thing was about to get smashed. It sped up and got around my car and I looked in the mirror and it was disappearing aross the sidewalk. It had a round bald head, and pale white/gray translucent skin and its hands were so strange. Claw like hands that looked like paws but also kind of like hands, hard to explain. And it ran so fast, it was like if I had blinked I wouldn't have seen it and it made question weather I saw a ghost or something supernatural.

@@MrDuffy81 It happened in northeast Pennsylvania by a place called the pink apple in tunkannock, pink apple is now closed down but I still vividly remember it crossing the sidewalk by the hotel that is across from pink apple after I almost hit it. I heard a theory that these things eat the decaying soul of the deceased which was a very very odd theory someone suggested because slighly up the road was a church and I think it has dead buried there. I will never forget seeing that creature though, one of the most paranormal experiences of my life.

The creatures from The Descent film as an inspiration do match up perfectly in time with the creation of the Rake, both coming out in 2005.
If he had seen one in real life, it would be called a crawler... the Rake name should be specifically used only for his fictional creepypasta character.

This is very credible to me because i have seen something very similar in switzerland a few years ago , in good detail and I have every reason to remain assured that it was not any sort of prank. I have been casually researching since. These things have been sighted in numerous countries in relatively similar ways for decades. Some cases involved injury. These gorgoil human horror movie looking creatures tend to display both curious and hostile attitude.

It was casually sitting right on the side of the road and looking at us , as we slowly drove by. It was late and we were the only moving car around. The road there is a long straight stretch with a low speed limit, so i noticed it from far away and was wondering why would a person be ducking down there at such hour or any hour for that matter and as we gradually approached , i was rewarded with a very unexpected sighting. What seemed to have a very human silhouette from afar, turned out to be not human at all but humanoid and it did not look 'pretty' or friendly

You are on the right kind of thinking. The Secret Book of Enoch or The secrets of the Book of Enoch (same Book of Antiquity but 2 different titles from the 2 different translations) holds the keys to these mysteries. I found a lot of answers also in The Kolbrin bible, which is a Celtic book. These 2 books seem to back each other up, whereas the Christian bible has only vague references to these secrets and mysteries. Bottom line is that the angels from heaven called the watchers, married the women of earth (200 in all), and those angels then revealed to their wives how to use magic (witchcraft incantations and the mixing of herbage/botanicals to create giants out of the children, (which were half angels and half human). I use to really enjoy watching paranormal videos. I liked to analyze them and decide if they were basically real or fake. Alot of them were videos that were simply taken from someone and given a new scary backstory.These days I find myself getting angry at the stuff I find. Most of the channels are so lazy that they either just keep showing the same old videos in a never ending cycle or one guy will do some work and find new videos than a dozen other guys steal their entire compilation and post it on their own channel.

What kills it for me is when they throw in videos that are just obviously really bad cgi but then they act like they can't tell if it's real. Like I get that it might be hard to get enough really good ones to put in every video but at least don't fill in the space with ones that are just obviously and really badly faked
Seems like the best of them follow reddit streams and repost with some dialogue added. It's a news feed I suppose but unfortunately no way to know fact from fiction. Probably the best of all the paranormal channels right now is the Darkest Secret who I think get most of their material from subscribers and I've seen amazing original stuff there. Also pretty open about potential fakes and will show how they test that. Frostmare is another good one though he'll include obvious fakes unfortunately. He has actually worked as a paranormal investigator so does have that background and has alot of very compelling captures. Hope that helps. There are many terrible ones but not all!

The Ghoul, or zombie looking creatures have been seen and recorded for millennia. They are always described the same, and the Rake was just someone ripping off the original Ghoul. I know several people who told me they have seen them, and had no idea wtf a rake or ghoul was, but described them as corpses, or zombie like dead people, but the resemblance is completely uncanny. And it was exactly the same.

My mother saw one in Texas during the 80s on an all night road trip. I shouldn't say "it" but she says she saw what looked like a skinless grasshopper man running along side her car.

I was not sold on the rake unril one of my ex's and her boyfriend saw one. They had no idea what it was they had seen when she related the story to me, but after listening to their story and description , I showed them a couple of Pics and videos from the internet. You could see the uneasyness on their faces as they both confimed that this was the creature that they encountered.

I have a feeling I might’ve encountered one of these things. I used to have a cabin at Candle Lake in northern Saskatchewan. When I was 8, 9ish, I wanted to sleep outside in a tent with my dad. He set up a tent outside and we went in for the night. It was about midnight, I remember because I got scared and ran inside the cabin later on. Anyways, we were about to go to sleep and we heard something walking in the driveway. We assumed it was a deer because they would walk through our yard and graze often. That was until it made a sound. It was a horrifying howl, unlike a wolf, fox, cougar or lynx. Not even like an elk either. It was terrifying. Even my dad was confused. When we were sure whatever it was left, I ran back into the cabin, where my mom was waiting for me. She too heard the sound and wanted to see what it was but it left before she could.
If anyone else who has been or is currently at Candle Lake has heard that foreign howl, please let me know. I really wish I could go back up there and try to search for that thing but given how big the area is it will be hard. Also, for anyone wondering, this was near the south end of the airport.

Whatever the length of an appendage, ANY animal would be EXPERT at using them, having been BORN that way.! Of course they'd be able to use them PROPERLY.!🙄!. If suddenly, you were given arms that were twice as long as normal, then they'd take a bit of getting used to. But if you were BORN with them, you'd be an EXPERT as well.

catalytic converters are the natural prey of tweakers, they can smell them from up to a mile away. They often trade them with humans for odd crystals, which they seem to treasure. Oddly, no metter how much they may consume, they always appear emaciated, with rotted teeth and pallid skin. Fascinating creatures.

Their behavior is always either curious or defensive. Their hostility is because they're afraid of contact with us. That's why they're seen as hostile half the time. The other times they're seen as curious. Curious about us, about our society, about our civilization. They are seen looking into our houses and observing us, and then shyly running away once they're spotted. They're not evil. They just look creepy. But I'm not convinced they're malevolent at all. They just seem to be another creature as curious as we are of say, bigfoot. And their curious/shy/hostile behavior is the exact same behavior humans exhibit in similar situations.

The photos and drawing of the Canadian crawler highly resembles a creature that has been seen for decades in South Texas called the Kucabara (sp?). I friend of mine had seen this thing just off his property around the San Antonio area but in the country. My friend went hunting for this thing and one night the head lights of his truck caught this thing on the side of the road. I saw the photo and it looked like this thing. Very scary looking! No.. I’m convinced these creatures are REAL.
The creation of an entity through the human imagination is called Egregore. Another is the Tulpa. I've seen dozens of Rake like video captures through a profusion of 'real ghosts caught on camera' aggregator channels like Sir Spooks, King Frostmare, and Nuke's top five. These entities are witnessed all over the planet, and there is so many captures I find it completely impossible that they are all hoaxes, although a fraction most certainly are.

Very creepy story, I became quite jumpy after hearing these accounts. I just don't know what to think, I keep thinking of the comment made in the Frank Graves interview regarding the remote Nahanni valley, something about "anything could be there", (sorry I couldn't remember exact quote) and that is very plausible when you think of some the remote heavily wooded areas in the world.

It's similar to a wendigo a evil spirit of someone who had committed Cannibalism & passed, then came back forever cursed to eat the flesh of the living. The only reason you'll feel fear from such a creature is your survival instincts kicking in. My great grandma my mushim' said to never show fear & to always stay in the light for they cannot stand to be in light of any kind. Said to always pray, I've had my fair share of paranormal experience's but be mindful that the earth is older then we will ever know & the creatures that lived on it were here long before us. It's been told for generations of my people to never be afraid of such creature's & fight the fear that overcomes you when you do come across ancient beings of the past. I’m binging on his vids lately. Better than most anything else on TH-cam to be perfectly honest. A lot of the Cryptid podcasts have really gone downhill and only offer good episodes if you pay for them.
