It can't be said enough. Rachelle Ferrell is a genius. Her ear, her musicianship, her technical prowess, and her extraordinary gifts only come once every few generations. She should be lauded in the same category as our other greats like Duke Ellington, Sarah and Ella, Miles, Prince, Michael and Whitney. Praying for her health and wellness!
I've been looking for this on TH-cam and gave up. I had it on VHS when it first aired. This is when I knew that Rachelle knew the Christ and has a close relationship with Him. That's the only way you can sing this song the way she did. Thank you for posting.
Do you know what this was part of? My mom always said she was put onto Rachelle by some program on BET where she performed her full self-titled album. I've been wanting to find that for her ever since.
Omg finally a video of this! It's my favourite song she does. Unparalleled voice, from the highest whistle to the richest lows and everywhere in between. She is really playing two instruments at once here.
She put her whole foot in this song. Took me back to a Missionary Baptist church in the woods somewhere in the deep south. *Quickens violently into a Baptist fit*
-R.I.P. to a legend! She was one of the best, most wide-ranging and athletic voices to ever do it! She will be missed.😢- Ooh! Y'all I'm sorry! I thought this was a tribute because she had passed! Well God Bless the living! You still got it, Rachelle! Go 'head and sing us to benediction!
I've never been a fan of Rachelle but I always check out when these "secular" artists sing gospel. This is real nice. I like it way better than her jazz stuff. Thanks for posting!
