When we started I thought it was weird if not stupid, but then I learned to paddle it in manual, and the thing went like a cut cat, and I mean fast. I fell in love with it, So here I am 31 March 2019, selling my BMW 320I touring for a near new cactus.The 16hdi with the weird gearbox is the most misunderstood car on planet earth. GET ONE!
It is the best review about the C4 Cactus. I am the proud owner of a C4 Cactus. Yes just lift your foot from the gas pedal when you "feel" the change of gear from 1st to 3rd mainly it's like when pressing the clutch to change gear on a manual. it's a lovely car. Pleasant and relaxing to drive. It's a graceful car. very gifted. of course no one or nothing is perfect. Well done to you, reviewer! You have done a splendid job! You have my support!
I was surprised at how brilliant this car is, we have a merc eclass so this is our city runaround. I expected to feel depressed when leaving my Mercedes and using the cactus, but I felt so inspired by the interior and comfort, the interior space is excellent for such a small car. Driving on motorways is effortless and simply wafts along at high cruising speeds very little noise and very stable and smooth I now use the cactus more than I use the Mercedes. Just love driving and being in it
great review of gearbox, i ordered one with ETG 6 gearbox, waiting for it to be built, but looking at another reviewers they al say etg is not good... you are only one who explained why is it actualy good. thank you.
Outright the best bloody review on TH-cam and I have watched all of the I'm a current c4 Picasso owner and from what I can tell the gearbox that most reviewers have an issue with I think to me sounds not far off their auto transmission.. Because the auto in c4 Picasso is not as smooth as you might think.. Great review thanks
Got a cactus after test driving other cars from Nissan etc..... had the cactus about 8 months and love it. great to drive and makes motoring fun again. loads of people commented on it and like it. We have diesel manual
Is it worth buying? In my case, want to trade in with my VW Golf MKVII 2013 1.4 Automatic Base model. I am thinking to change my as warranty will finish in December 2016. I am looking for Deisel 1.6 Auto.
'It will get you to where you need to go' Lol. This is a Diesel engine, if it didn't get me to my destination, I don't know what would ;) Great car btw.
It's not an automatic gearbox. It's a manual. Or robotised manual to be precise, very important to realise that your not actually driving an automatic car, once you realise that, the robotised manual starts to make sense, plus this gearbox helps greatly with fuel economy

funky car, looks great to be honest. Buyers obviously wouldn't care about performance, but cool little car for around the city.
Given the type of car it is and the potential buyers. A look in the boot would have been useful.
