This is the first EQ that has truly dethroned Pro-Q 3 for me. This is really the EQ to beat now. Just goes to show how much can actually be done with 10mb of code, some ingenuity and hard work. The fact that it retails for almost three times less than Pro-Q 3 is also amazing! Fabfilter really need to step up their game for Pro-Q 4.
I've been using TB EQ v4 almost since it came out and it became my everyday default EQ. When the PRO version came out, I bought the upgrade without hesitation. The Transient \ Sustain and Gate modes are very good. I often use these modes to remove reverb from my SFX recordings. Ambience mode works very strangely and I never found any use for it. Personally, I miss the Attack and Release manual modes, the freely movable EQ filter bar, the fast change of the mode, and the filter soloing mode with the ability to listen to the direct operation of the mode.

For some reason I still prefer Pro-Q 3 in certain situations, particularly with dynamic filters. But it is definitely at that level.

Yes, the ambience one is a bit strange. It did help me a bit getting some artifacts out of a AI generated music piece though.
