Max Factor and other Hollywood makeup artists introduced it to the general population in the 1920s and 30s. But contouring probably found its origins in theatrical stage makeup
Noone in Europe wore stage makeup in the 1940's. There was lipstick, nail varnish, powder, and the odd cake mascara... In the UK lipstick was promoted by the government to boost a bit of glamour.
I almost never use any makeup myself, when I see the amount of products and successive layers I'm like 😮.... Gosh but how much time does it actually take?! Result is beautiful ❤
I never done any of that put foundation on my fingertips some blusher lipstick and mascara that was it oh yeah, eyeshadow I don’t know anyone who done all of this and I’m 63 didn’t see my aunts do it mostly just powder lipstick is what they done
I appreciate the criticism, thank you. I do not claim to have authentic makeup for women of that era. My makeup is inspired by Old Hollywood actresses who wore a lot of makeup 🙂

The final look is lovely and pretty authentic. Emphasis was very much red lips in the 40s.
I tried my best to make this look authentic ;) Thank you!!
Wow! I didn't realize they were contouring 80 years ago!! 😮 beautiful!

Thank you 💝 oh yes, it’s true that so many products and time are spent on this 😩
The thing is that at that particular time women only used 3 products - eye pencil, loose powder and lipstick 🤷🏻♀️

No, this is MODERN 1940s makeup for the rich. NOT authentic or realistic for the everyday class of women.
Yes I agree 👍
I couldn’t quite read the name of everything you were using -
The products used are in the description under the video.
Thank you for not talking.
Pretty! Would have enjoyed it more without the music, and a voice-over.
Thank you!
