So ofc his way is by giving us the cold shoulder and telling us and I quote "If were really friends, You wont come back. . ." Not implying for you to reset but to just quit. During Phase 2 it is him only trying to deter you from playing the game, By cheating more ofc. If anything it feels as if sans himself is like us the player and we are his boss battle, an unstoppable force only swayed with our own determination, That's what makes the end of his fight so impactful because when you deliver that final slash, he realizes there was no stopping you, Like a game where the main character no matter there choices cant do anything to stop what's going only, Only prolong in hopes to deter or test the patience's of who he fights against.
