I think he is getting more credit then he did when played Bond much like Timothy Dalton who was ahead of his time as Bond as fans were not ready for a serious Bond actor and films after Roger Moore’s light hearted take on the role for 7 films over the course of 12 years. Dalton and Lazenby I feel are the two most underrated Bond actors and seemed to be the least appreciated for some time but sure it was hard as they took over from Sean Connery and Roger Moore. I am a big fan of James Bond movies and have grown to like On Her On Majesty’s Secret Service and I am only 33 and been a fan since I was 9 years old when Goldeneye came out in 1995.

It's always been one of my favourites, and has stood the test of time for me critically. I agree with Scott about Dalton and Lazenby, very underrated, and now years later you can appreciate they were very good. I'm always excited for any Bond movie to come out, and I remember thinking Brosnan was such a good choice at the time, but now looking back, I think his movies are the worst. Casino Royale was the best Bond movie in a long time, maybe since OHMSS.

Lazenby is just such a great guy, and it's great that you got to see him up close like this and listen to his stories! It's funny, he really seems like he's always so happy to talk about those stories of getting laid, living the wild life, lying his way into getting the part, I've heared him tell the same story over and over in so many videos, but it's just so great to listen to. He seems really accesable and normal, it's inspiring. I remember his great quote from Becoming Bond: "You can defy what is expected of you, and write your own story". Great guy. Fantastic video once again David!

@@p0ppyfarr95I grew up watching all the bond films from the classics of Connery to today. I prefer the classic films now. I wouldn’t change the history for the world because we got to see how many different actors would portray James Bond and there’s too much nostalgia involved. Me personally I loved the Moore films. I always liked Lazenby as 007 and was sorry that he only did one film, now I know why. He was handsome, suave and rugged. Seems like his entire Bond existence was based on a serendipitous fluke that should've lasted longer. O, well. Our loss!

Diana Rigg said that Lazenvy was VERY difficult on the set, although Sean Connery kind of disputed that statement and claimed he'd never found Lazenby difficult (though he only knew Lazenby socially and never worked with him). Sean and George first met when they both found themselves in the same resturant together. Also Sean Connery claimed that George Lazenby was never arrogant.

The latest I've heard is a complete run down of what really happened. Just by accident I typed GL agent OHMSS etc.
George wanted to accept Cubby's 20 year contract and other offersbuthis agent kept refusing. Lazenby gave his insane agent right of contract refusal. That's the base reason and not because George was convinced Bond was pass expiration date -- that was 911 oksecondary. IMO he should've retained attorney to break the contract. I'd like to see an interview with the agent who really screwed his client.

    1) Good job filming, it's not that shaky and even if I had troubles hearing one or two questions , the sound is good.
    2) How do you get invited everywhere like this ? :p (Who's your connection ? :D )
3)I knew the story and I know there are some crazy stories in movie industry but the one of him, a complete stranger to acting becoming one of the most wanted role at that time is pretty incredible. In a way, the guy was a fraud, he knew it, he didn't care and took advantage of it and lived his life like he said . He was not the best actor but he was somehow a spy to have done everything he's done to get the part .

Actually Roger Moore praised Daniel Craig as James Bond and said he enjoyed watching Casino Royale so much he went out and got the dvd. Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan both have praised Daniel Craig as Bond although Brosnan was not happy when he was essentially let go from the aeries by the producers in favor of rebooting the series when Casino Royale was in pre production and Brosnan was wanting to return as Bond as enjoyed the script but was considered too old to return at age 53 by then and Barbara Broccoli wanted to reboot the series. Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan have all supported the casting of Craig when he got the role.

Happy 90th birthday to the all time greatest @007 - Sean Connery. Sean, for me, was always the man. I walked in his footsteps - I had to look and dress like Sean Connery - I went to his barber's and tailors. I had no fear when I went up for the role - he was the guy who inspired me to never hesitate. Another thing we have in common is that we're both family men, so best wishes to Lady Connery, your kids and grand kids and stay safe. Love George x

I met George for the first time in 2006 when I had him sign the glovebox door of the 1969 Aston DBS I replicated to match his film car. Then, I was the first I'm told to have replicated his car. DBS5238R will always be my favorite Bond car as much as George is my favorite Bond. He was such a kind gentleman and my wife and I took him a gift for his little boy who was born the same year our first son was born. I was on cloud 9 being a new father as was he having a new baby boy at home! He and his agent invited me to spend the rest of the day with them. What a memory! :)

i understand that most people who would watch this video are Lazenby fans, but seriously, there's a reason why his Bond is was not a hit. The movie was boring, and he had zero charisma.

There's a reason why George Lazenby only made one Bond movie. It wasn't as he claimed that he was under contract with another studio. Lazenby was constantly late on the set, frequently forgot his lines and was a pain in the butt to work with.

    • @stuartwebster4955

Your talking absolutely a load of rubbish with your inaccurate comments about George Lazenby and why he only made one bond film! My uncle worked on 5 bond films starting with thunderball and ending with live and let die, he often told me what a wonderful experience it was working on the bond films especially is favourite ohmss and in particular George Lazenby who despite the fact he had no acting experience pulled off a great performance, my late uncle was a camera operator so new exactly how George behaved on set and he was impressed with Lazenby from day one of filming, have many behind the scenes photos & and autographs of the time my uncle was on set ohmss, George Lazenby deserves alot more credit for is brilliant performance as bond than he gets, on travesty was he did only the one because my uncle often said that he had more about him than connery in the roll of 007, George was never late onset he was George.

@@stuartwebster4955 Producers didn't come back to Lazenby, as they did with Connery although he left the role and their relationships was very bad, and until now - with more conventional films - didn't provide the role in a model that is no actor and is completely novice.

@@ΜακηςΛ-ε5ρthat's your opinion but i no differently as with regards George Lazenby and the roll of 007 still despite playing bond only once he at least was in the best bond film, connery in diamond are forever was totally disinterested and with good reason one of the worst bond films of all time, my late uncle worked on this one also and often said it was a utter mess of a picture, the Moore years complete joke, Dalton tried but failed and as for brosnan never rated him one bit, Daniel craig OK nothing more it's George Lazenby all the way for me ohmss is simply the best

But Salzman and Broccoli wanted Lazenby back, and offered him a seven picture contract and various perks, which Lazenby turned down because he got bad advice.
