okay so a few very important things to note here:
*1) spanish*
anitta actually sings in spanish here and not portuguese, even though portuguese is brazil's official language. a lot of her own music has been only spanish or english lately instead of portuguese to cater for a more global audience and reach
*2) vmas*
this song was first premiered LIVE during the 2023 vmas (sept 12) even before its digital release and i HIGHLY recommend checking it out! they perform with anitta and their mics were *ON*! they also won their very first vma that night for "push performance of the year" with "sugar rush ride" :)
*3) txt version*
after the official digital release with the mv (sept 15), a txt-only version has been released as well (sept 18), along with 2 remixes. (spoilers) the txt-only version basically replaces anitta's second verse with a hueningkai & yeonjun vocal verse, without the brazilian funk instrumental they used for the version with anitta. also recommend you check it out! (but i personally still prefer the version with anitta)
*4) full album*
this song is confirmed to be a pre-release/b-side for their upcoming 3rd studio album "the name chapter: freefall" releasing october 13th! we're not sure which version will be in it since the tracklist hasn't been released yet but it'll most likely be the txt version if i had to guess
The second part Anitta is doing a lot of the back vocals, It was perfect!
The background vocals for "i can see you" is Anitta. If u listen closely you can hear her voice throughout the other chorus so yes you're right it was her singing it. It actually starts from "there'll be something" she sings it the second time.
TXT debut performance for Back for more was at the VMAs. And Yes! TXT was paying tribute to MJ 🥰
They premiered the song at the vmas and dropped the song three days after they performed it, if you can react to the vmas performance it would be nice 🥺
