    This is very informative for new essential oil users because it emphasizes how individual metabolisms vary. The discussion of optimal capacity was very helpful. The fact that using diluted oils topically can stay in tissues longer because they are absorbed more "sluggishly" was interesting.

    A lot of good information. Glad to know that for each one may be different. You just have to experiment. It’s amazing how the bottom of the feet is such a special place.

    Monica D. One of the points Dr Hill made which I concur is that because the oils are safe and versatile you can use the oils in ways you did not think. Also important to mention they are effective in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle. Each person can work with their own level of comfort, experience and wellness capacity. Using one's intuitive sense it is safe and fun to experiment provided you follow the proper usage.

    I wub him (Dr. Hill). Haha A calm, confident, informative, direct, and more importantly, compassionate, delivery. Couldn’t agree more with all Dr. Hill said. Oils are a personal journey. Each person is unique. Comfort levels are important for one to remain consistent for desired outcome, whatever that this. Re: hitting a threshold (for his co-star) it could be an opportunity to then one reference individual ingredients, and then dives into them separately, and, more importantly look at your food and caffeine intake. Food is medicine. Herbal teas are a good addition, say camomile (for his co-star) to sip on rather than applying more topical. Scent is another issue entirely. I’d love a video on when best to use these without being smelt before seen! Haha Right now we WFH, and our public contacts are limited, but this won’t always be the case. Suspect the ’solution’ is ‘medicate’ when at home. Not everyone is going to like a barrage of different oils emitting from us all the time. A real question. I realize this is an old video as I educate myself, but not new to essential oils, just doTERRA. Thank you for your time, and the video was great!

    I really like the idea of using heat with essential oils but it makes sense. I also did not realize that you can use too much oil possibly causing an adverse reaction. I do like the idea of diluting the oil to give it a longer lasting effect without over doing it. I am part of the group that thinks more is better so I need to be aware of that as I use my oils.

    • @janwilliams2928
      @janwilliams2928 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Use more often rather than using more oil. Diluting keeps the oil on your skin longer so you “get more” but can add more in a few hours if you want.

      Yeah. Consistency is the key. How I nurse my kids whenever they were down with fever. I applied peppermint touch (already diluted with FCO) topically at the soles of their feet, scalp, back of their neck and around their spine area. I also applied about 3 drops of neat peppermint in a glass bowl with ice cold water (never plastic) to soak it with face towel to place it on their forehead. I did it every 30mins (consistently) during the initial high temperature. Then gradually increase to about every hour to every 3 hours. I know its tedious but the temperature did drop. I would give them deep blue polyphenol 1 capsule, 3 times / day on the 1st day then gradually cut to 2 capsule on 2nd day which by then their fever subsides. On top of peppermint applied on the soles of their feet, I add on another layer of topical application > oregano (diluted as its a strong EO) & tea tree.

    It really comes down to three things, when talking abut internal use. 1. the quality of the oil, they have to be proven to be of the highest quality, every drop in the bottle must be pure, with absolutely no toxins. 2. the individual. If you have a very sensitive, then they may need to think twice. If the person has liver or kidney issues, maybe not so much. 3. And the oil itself. There are oils like birch and wintergreen should never be taken internally. It comes down to knowing your oils and the compounds which make it up. Then do it wisely and use common sense...educate one's self before...knowledge is power.

      when my son was a baby I used 1 drop of wintergreen in his baby bottle of water. He would suffer from colic and nothing else I tried gave him any relief. That was 55 years ago. I don't think the oils I had were that pure back then. I also used herbal teas and tinctures when my children were ill. You are right you have to educate yourself. Glad there are better products and oils now for my grandchildren.

      That is why it is important for the EO introducer to educate the next user on how to use these EOs safely. Never compromised on the safety wise part. Especially those who are new to EOs (Essential Oils). They got to make that effort to read the labels if it’s recommended for topical use,is it safe to be ingested? Labelled under the (I’s for Ingestion) Or is the oil requires dilution (D’s for Dilution)etc due to its high level of potency. Like what Dr Hill suggested in this video for new users, the best and safest way to get to know which EOs suits your preference, or best for you is to apply them topically. And that means by applying 2 to 3 drops at a time-topically (like a patch test) Remember Less IS More. EOs are extraction from plants, roots, fruits, flowers & leaves etc. Some of us can’t take or allergic to certain types of flowers or plants & fruits etc. The same common sense is applied in exercising discernment when using these EOs extract from such sources. In addition to this > To aid one with their healing process, one needs to bear in mind that it requires an a whole lot of effort than just relying on natural solutions and or modern medicine. One needs to look again at their daily lifestyle, their diet and some habits that may require an overhaul. Only then will they notice the optimum result.❤

      You should look into using the whole frankincense resin.*
      It’s more beneficial and more efficient.
      It’s easy to make a tea or leave a tablespoon in a liter of water overnight to drink.
      Not only is it more effective (as the anti inflammatory Boswellic acids are NOT in the essential oil) but it’s safer because you know Exactly what you are consuming and how much.
      (*You must make sure it’s the edible kind, only the highest grade of some of the frankincense species are edible, this is a big reason why the essential oil should probably not be taken internally. Despite doterras claims. It doesn’t matter if it’s “all natural” mercury is 100% all natural and nobody suggests consuming that. Essential oils are sometimes 50,000 times more concentrated than the plant, using the whole plant ensure you aren’t overdoing it and that you are getting the water soluble compounds as well)

      I THINK YOU NEED TO investigate the available information available. Also DoTerra has a Veterinarian panel that you can direct questions about animal usage. There are also vet's that utilize eo's in their clinic's these days. There are also books available to educate one on the use of oils with animals now.
