  • On Your Own ;Designs! I hope you give this visual tutorial a go, there are no words, no instruction, no measures. My hope is that you will follow along and modify these moves with your own magical design moves!
Don't worry, I will still make talkies, I just didn't want to waste these silent videos, I just found my lost backup drive 😅
The techniques I use in this hammered and layered, wire wrapped Opal pendant can be learned by watching several of my free and Membership videos! So you already have the skill set you need to make this one!
If you want my video suggestions, there are some linked below, that show these techniques WITH my instruction, voice and measures if you want to try them first. Have fun! Thank you always for your support of my channel!
Please like, share, and comment if you're enjoying this video.
    Thanks again so much! :)
The materials I use in most of my videos for this type of frame, on this size stone can be...
This stone is about 1 inch x .75 inch wide.
Base Frame - 16g or 18g, Round or Square, Soft wire at about 10 to 13 inches depending on if I use the continuation of wire lengths for the bale and for design.
Add on Wires - Normally 20g, but sometimes an 18g also, Square or Round, Soft wire.
They can be anywhere from 12 inches to 6 inch single pins.
Wraps and ties - 22g half round, normally 16 inches for the bale and another couple feet for wraps.
    28g and/or 26g - normally for bead balls and/or ties and/or weaves.
Have fun Members! Ask me questions if you have them.

Thank you very much for sharing your found video with us. Your opal is gorgeous, you wrapped it beautifully. A small bead ball could be added, or maybe incorporate some weaving, but nothing that would distract from the beautiful opal. X❤

Thank you so much for teaching this beautiful pendant!
I would love to know where you purchase your cabochons other than shows?

Thanks, Christi, for these stones, I only shop at the shows, this Opal dealer doesn't sell online. One of my favorite cabochon dealers does sell on Instagram tho, they are @RareEarthMiningCo on Instagram. I'm sure there are other Ethiopian Opal dealers online who sell, so you might ask around to other teachers too. You might also google to see if you have a local rock shop near by. New Era Gems might have a website and he also sells these Opals but I'm not sure if they sell online. You can also check in Etsy, there are several in there too who sell these but make sure, like all shopping, check reviews and see that customers are happy before you buy. I hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching!

Thank you for posting this. I have a ton of wire wrapping videos saved and this one is my absolute favorite. Where did you get that opal and what are its dimensions?

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry

Thank you so much! I'm really happen you're enjoying these, Farren! I shop my Opals at the Colorado Mineral and Fossil Show... the dealer I use only sells in person, so he's not available online but there are many who sell Opals of this type via Etsy as well as Instagram and FB... as always, check out reviews and make sure they've been around a while and doing good business if you are buying online. Otherwise, look up your local Mineral and Rock shops.... sometimes your local business will have them or have access to them, and/or look up shows coming through your area, such as this one, it travels into 3 states! www.rmgmpromotions.com/
This opal, if I remember, was about 1 inch x 1 inch in general... that's about the size I prefer to work with, about 15ct maybe a bit more, this one. I hope that helps!
