    WOODSYDOC:
    In this redwood sculpture tutorial, I am going to turn a piece of dead wood I found on the forest floor into a beautiful piece of fine art. I will show the step by step process in this tutorial on how to make a fine art redwood sculpture. Bringing dead wood back to life in a fine art sculpture is what I do.
    WILDFLOWER:
    How can Mind Power help us to achieve goals? How can a homeless child with a mentally unstable and abusive mother become successful?

    Dr. Teresa Van Woy Specializes in diabetic wound care, sports medicine, pediatrics, trauma, and general podiatry.
    Some of the world's rich and successful people didn't start off that way. They spent nights sleeping on the streets, in their cars, or on friends' couches. Some of them struggled with their situation while pursuing their dreams. Dr. Teresa Van Woy is one of them who struggled from childhood but ended up reaching her goals.
    The power of goals and following your dreams is one of the fundamental keys in every successful person’s life. The basic secret towards the achievement of goals is commitment. Writing down the goals and deciding what you want is one task and getting to it is another. Since this is already known, you should not let it take you apart. Fear is the main hindrance toward the achievement of goals and dreams. Set your goals, start working on them, and never, ever give up. This is the way you will reach your destination. Transform your misfortunes into fortunes.
    ▶️ Overview of WILDFLOWER, A TALE OF TRANSCENDENCE:
    Spending the night in juvenile detention wasn't the worst thing to happen to seven year old Teresa. Her much anticipated summer vacation from Florida to California turns to years of abuse when her mentally unstable mother abducts her and three of her eight siblings to settle in the slums of San Francisco's Tenderloin district. At the age of seven, she was left to fend for herself and her family.
    During her time in San Francisco, young Teresa fantasized of a better life. Observing how the other half lived, she never let go of her dreams as she forged her way from homelessness and abuse to become a physician. At a young age, Teresa learned that with hard work and determination, you can get what you want in life.

    I've had an insane drive to collect driftwood. It's relaxing. The downside is I've been doing this for YEARS! Not an artist, really. People ask me what I'm going to do with all this wood I'm collecting. I don't know but when the student is ready, the teacher appears. Maybe I'm supposed to build an ark! 😂

      😅😂 that's how I got started! The drift wood was just to beautiful to pass up. But I'm like, what am I going to do with all this? there's only so many driftwood succulents I could add to my garden. That's when I started doing this. It's really quite Zen and relaxing... And you end up with an amazing piece of art. I think of it as bringing the dead wood back to life! I have a whole TH-cam playlist on my driftwood art!

    Those red ninja gloves, the MCR ones are the ones i do most my sanding with, there good and durable enough, i know some others for more detailed light work that are thinner but recommend the ninjas for hand sanding protection amd grip

    I have a gnarly piece of driftwood that I’ve had hanging around for about 10 years. My idea when I found it was to do what you have done to your piece. I may even start on it tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration.

    A paz do Senhor Jesus Cristo.

    This is amazing and you did such a great job! Curious what type of lights do you use and then do you enjoy combing beeswax and olive oil it seems to do great on these wood sculptures:) Thank you for sharing and again great work!!

      Thank you! 😊 I found a little round LED light with batteries that's about the size of a silver dollar.
      I like the beeswax mixture I use. Seems to do a nice job and it smells good as I'm heating it up! :-)

    I wonder what it would have looked like if you had only sanded by hand

    • @DrTeresaVanWoy
      @DrTeresaVanWoy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would have probably looked the same but taken a lot longer to create.

    • @funnyguy9711
      @funnyguy9711 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DrTeresaVanWoy you would be surprised. Unless you were intentionally trying to get down to all good wood. It was very smooth at the end and it looked great but it definitely has a different look when you use a hand sander. It will take a lot more wood. Still enjoy it looks great.

    What's the ratio of beeswax and olive oil?

    • @DrTeresaVanWoy
      @DrTeresaVanWoy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the ratio is about one part beeswax to 3 parts oil. It doesn't have to be exact. The more oil, the softer the mixture.

    • @CrymsonRaider
      @CrymsonRaider 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In your experiments, is olive oil better/worse than linseed oil? Or just has a diff effect?

    • @DrTeresaVanWoy
      @DrTeresaVanWoy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, personally, I like the olive oil better. You can also use mineral oil. For some reason, the linseed oil just didn't work out too great for me and it's highly flammable. I know a lot of people use it though, so if you have it, you can give it a try and compare.
