But the co-author, James Hausler, in an interview that took place in 2014 stated that Byron vanished mid-"development" of second edition and no contact has been made. James been "active" on TH-cam as recent as 3 months ago and he stated that he's still in contact with other "designers", while Byron is estranged from everyone.

I knew people had problems with it, but honestly looked at them like they come down with a bout of madness from having gleamed the Necronomicon. I had heard about some of the charts and knew the game wasn't for me so I ignored it and moved on with my life. However the mental breakdowns of people who had at least supposedly read the book always left me scratching my head, and wondering if there was any truth to what they said, or if they were just overreacting. So thank you for actually writing this and listening why. That said man... Go get help. Hug your wife, something recover thy sanity from this horrid abomination, and let the clensing flames purge this work. I remember reading the old rpgnet review. It took several sessions to finish reading because ... well, the obvious. I read the sociopathic and disturbingly calm response by Hall and felt I needed a long shower. I knew I would never voluntarily read, let alone play, this...thing just based on that. This only reminds me... that this abomination still exists. This isn't a game, this is a crime. Erasing every page of every pdf of this horror from the Internet would be a net gain for the species. Whoever blackmailed you into this review must hate you with a passion.

I don't know if thats true or revisionism on their part after blowback but I'd believe it. Now whether its actually funny... For better attempts games like Hol did it better and actually wasnt to far off as far as the whole crossing the line bit

Wow. Well, Fatal is a really bad game. Its up there with RHOA, VITL and phoenix command as being either Completely offensive, A limiting mess of rules that wont let the characters role play, or completely obtuse to the point its main gimmick is so complex. (No, seriously I hope you attempt to try to understand Phoenix command. It is a legit gun simulator in tabletop form and focuses on super realistic combat.)
My brain cannot fathom this level of awful. The sheer amount of horrible decisions, both mechanically and literarily, is astounding. The only thing I can latch onto is that this could have been forgivable if the people who wrote this game realized that rape is BAD. It would still be bad, but it would not be the worst thing ever. I don't mind the idea of sex or prostitution in a game (not sure I would want to play with anyone, but I can understand the appeal). Heck, both the original "Deadlands" and "Shadow of the Demon Lord" include the option to play prostitutes as does a recent(ish) supplement "Numenera." But as far as I know, none of these books encourage people to rape the prostitutes. If you want to include rape and misogyny in your book. Fine. That's difficult to deal with as a player, but it can work. As long as you remember it's bad. The characters should be standing in defiance of a cruel and unjust society, not reveling in the awfulness. Because the vast majority of humanity don't think that stuff is good! They think it's bad. They want to hurt they people who do this!

The only laughs it really gave was someone on a forum doing their own review and look at it to the point they made up a backstory for the game that basically took a jab at Byron Hall for how disgusting it all was once one was able to read past the "circumference" meme and all the weird math equation rolls.
I'm not easy to offend but this "game" goes way beyond anything remotely reasonable. And that's not even getting into the mechanics that make Synibar or Palladium look playable. I'd heard a little of FATAL before but didn't realize it was anywhere near this bad...

When I was a young boy ( 13 or so ), me and my friends thought FATAL was hated on because it was depicting sex. Then we found a pdf of it in a p2p program and turns out no, it is a terrible game that even the most deprived person can't find any joy in playing. You could take out all the stupid shit and it will still remain a terrible game.

My entire world view has changed. Tonight I have not only found a game worse than F.AT.A.L but I found a game WAY worse than F.A.T.A.L. If you're brave or just stupid the name of the game is FAPP and it even has a bigger community than F.A.T.A.L.

WelchIt sounds like it, i won't be checking for myself however.
I'm told some people have played it specifically to try and get some ironic enjoyment out of it, and they didn't last long.
