I swear, Madison’s smile is LIFE when it comes to these Reactions. Sometimes, I’ll watch her face as she’s reacting, and it’s impossible to not notice the genuine wonder and earnest interest that she’s likely not even aware that she’s consciously exhibiting. It’s one thing for someone to SAY they like or enjoy something, but it’s completely different to SEE their enjoyment on their face. Plus, she’s getting better at predicting from one moment to the next. To say she’s invested would be an understatement. Also: Trunks’ internal dialogue in this scene was 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Vegeta is fueled by his never ending pursuit of Goku. Cell having those aspects of his personality to strive towards perfection and Trunks being gifted with those same cells so to speak that always kept him in pursuit of his father. ITs a very ego driven bloodline indeed

Like ssj grade 1 = regular ssj, ssj grade 2 = super vegea/super trunks, ssj grade 3 = buff goku/ super trunks 2, ssj grade 4 = cell games goku/cell games ssj gohan, then ssj2 would be considered grade 5 or the TRUE ssj ascension
Vegeta is my favorite character by far. He has the most character growth in this entire series. Every season he keeps growing. Most people love Goku. Which makes sense. He’s loveable and always the good guy and the savior. But he doesn’t really grow as a character. He’s just always the goofy loveable guy. Vegeta growth is amazing writing.
Cell seems to be able to access the Super Saiyan power. This is more evident later on with Perfect Cell. I'm not entirely sure how it works with him, because the Super Saiyan power seems more like a power up rather than a transformation when he does it, since his eye color doesn't change.

I think Cell chooses what power to use at any given time.. The power he is using now has to be Android 17's and Frieza's power.. That power up from Cell looked like he was relying on Android 17's energy.. Notice semi- perfect cell's arua, its clear like Android 17.. When he blew up the islands, looked like Frieza's power. So I think it's whatever power he calls up, that's what I'd displayed..
Cell is like an android super saiyan that has the power of a super saiyan but not reflecting it with a yellow hair because he is not a true saiyan but his ki is of a super saiyan.

When he is home, he's miserable and jumps at the chance to abandon his family for a good fight. He's obviously a lot more compassionate and kind than Vegeta, but I still think Goku has him beat on time spent away from the family.
Right now it is hard to tell the difference between his regular super Saiyan in this form. But overtime you will learn more about this transformation within these episodes.

I finally caught up. Super Vegeta is my favorite transformation. I love it more than super Saiyan. Vegeta is such a boss. Cell can go Super Saiyan. The genius of his design allows him to freely access the power without needing the emotional/mental prerequisites to unlock it (what Gohan is currently learning about in the time chamber). Heck, he even achieves Super Saiyan 2 through a massive Zenkai boost after bringing himself back from his self-destruction! 👍
In terms of Cell being able to go Super Saiyan or not its a yes and no. Cell does have Saiyan DNA in him and why he considers himself the perfect being cause he has ALL of the abilities that the other races have. We already seen him being able to regenerate parts of his body cause of the Namekian genetics in him. We also seen him power up and have a yellow aurora around him implying the Super Saiyan part. I also don’t want to go in too much detail cause I don’t know if Madison reads the comments so I don’t want to spoil everything. Towards the end of a very specific event after we see a top tier Goku moment there is a specific event after that shows that Cell does have the ability to gain Super Saiyan power and also improve it and take new forms like Vegeta and Goku. So yes he does have the ability but no cause he doesn’t get the yellow spiked hair and stuff but he does 100% get the abilities.
Semi perfect cell would be around 750 million to 800M in power level . Android 17 was stated to be around 340-350M and Imperfect cell was 400M same as 16 . So Vegeta would be around a billion in terms of power level

You know, watching this episode again now, I wonder if all the temperature fluctuations swirling around Trunks in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber were a reflection of his own inner turmoil, over the vast emptiness of the Chamber and over his relationship with his dad. Maybe it's a by-product of the chamber itself and the state of mind of whoever's in the chamber may cause the temperature swings. Then again, it's also completely possible that the hot and cold swings were really just in Trunks' mind because of that turmoil, and that something about the power of the Chamber made the illusion of hot and cold swings in Trunks' mind. Note that the same fluctuations have no effect on Vegeta (in fact, he doesn't even seem to notice them) and that they disappear the moment he knocks Trunks away.
You're totally right, and much like you said - Trunks sees right through the crust and sees the lonely, yet unyielding, hardworking, and proud man within. This period of the story is so instrumental in both Vegeta's and Trunk's character arcs. We can see that Trunks now understands what his mother saw in Vegeta, even if Vegeta couldn't see it in himself. And Trunk's actions _(and what you will see later),_ are a catalyst in some of Vegeta's growth as a person and character. _(As well as certain other things to come...)_ If Trunks hadn't come to the past like this, the Vegeta you will eventually see in the future may never have come to be. I can't wait for you to see how it all plays out!

And when people look at it sometimes it often ponders the theoretical possibility. As for being 100% official I'm going to say no..... His aura is the only thing that sparks the debate. Yes I know he's part Saiyan, but that doesn't mean he can do everything, if he literally could he would be able to change into Oozaru as well. He only possesses their attack capabilities and the Saiyan genetics to do a zenkai boost when healed from heavy damage. And like Frieza he can survive anywhere. There's one more ability he has but I don't want to spoil that.
Cell’s power mainly derives from the different cells in his body. I think due to having the Saiyan cells, he can achieve super saiyan aura but not as a transformation but to be stronger. Having cells from all fighters gives cell some traits of theirs in combat
Cell has his own version of Super Saiyan, but it's only in his perfect form. Super Vegeta and Trunks post-time chamber are in what's known as "Super Saiyan Grade 2" (The Original SSJ is Grade 1). However later on when Trunks and Cell transform into their super buff forms, that's known "Super Saiyan Grade 3" but it slows them down greatly. Vegeta knew about this weakness so he skipped Grade 3 and focused on Grade 2, but Trunks mistakenly trains in Grade 3. Later Goku will demonstrate Grade 3 to Gohan and instruct him on the fact that they will both be going from Grade 1 to Grade 4. Grade 4 is achieved by training your Grade 2 to the max, and its basically Super Saiyan Mastered completely- and in Grade 4 you can stay in it for weeks straight because you have a crapton of stamina- plus Grade 4 is even stronger than Grade 2 and is at least on par with the strength of Grade 3. That means SSJ Grade 4 is the fastest, strongest, and has near limitless stamina (not power like the androids that have an unlimited power [albeit that power has a cap to it, it's just that it refills & never runs out]- but stamina meaning they wont tire out and lose their transformation unless they use all their power). But back to Cell. Perfect Cell has a SSJ like state that is achieved in this form, it has a glowing aura. He gets zenkai boosts like other saiyans. He has S (Saiyan Cells required for SSJ) Cells. His transformation is akin to SSJ Grade 4. However without spoiling to those reading the comments.. let's just say that later on you'll notice some electricity around Cell that appear around Gohan earlier than Cell. That is indeed Cell's own version of what I'm referencing here.
I think Vegeta’s relationship with Future Trunks is an underrated part of this arc. I feel like it really added to their character development since in the past Vegeta barely cared about anyone but himself while Trunks has never known what it’s like to have a father. Seeing you guys analyze the characters reminds me of when I first watched the show, you guys are my favorite Dbz reactors.
I believe, if I'm not mistaken, Cell can't turn super saiyan but he does have their aura like when he fought 17 and Piccolo. He also has the cells of Vegeta, Goku, Piccolo and Frieza so he knows how they all think and how to get at them. He also gets the Zenkai boost like Saiyans, can survive anywhere like Frieza and can regenerate like Piccolo.
Her questions sometimes makes me wonder how good her memory is lol.. "Does that mean he ascended?" "Cell has saiyan DNA, does that mean he can go super saiyan?" These things have not only been outright stated multiple times in the series by now, but demonstrated too in like the past 1 - 2 episodes.
One question was can cell trunk super saiyian, with only the cells from Goku and Vegeta and only to a point of when cell was created. So one could say cell at super saiyian has its limitations.

I have to admit that this is the only version of Trunks that I somewhat like. I still have my issues with him, but this is his best incarnation in the series so far imo. I've never liked Vegeta either tbh. He's too prideful. It's a deadly sin after all and Vegeta always shows why. Cell is my favorite villain in the entire series. With all the cells he's comprised of, he has the potential within him to be the strongest being in all the universe. Being half blood Saiyan and human has shown the power that comes from it. (Gohan being able to achieve Super Saiyan very young for instance) This lends even more justification to my opinion. Anyways, an awesome reaction like always. When we first saw cell. That was his base form. Just like before vegeta and Goku turn super Saiyan. They are in their base form. So when cell absorbed 17 that was his version of turning super Saiyan.
This episode is the true turning point for fans of the show to truly love how awesome Trunks is. At first, with the opening of the show, we were all like "who the F is that guy in the black tank top with a sword?! How cool is he?! Then the episode came, when he was introduced. EVERYONE was awe struck, fawning over the new saiyan, a SUPER SAIYAN at that! And he destroyed Frieza and co. like it was just another day in the local pest exterminating joint. This episode cemented the fans over to Trunks and reinforced in the next episodes

Oh god....the glimpse of Piccolo, his first teacher and friend, getting blasted. Gohan never used the glimpse of Krillin being killed by Frieza. This created the 'snap' for Gohan.
Have you ever watched it with eng subtitles? Funimation changed alot of what they say and talk about in translation. Goku actually told gohan that anger is what makes one a super saiyan. "Pop off with a bang"
Not sure if it's been mentioned but from what I recall Toriyama made "phases" or "ascensions" or "levels" like that for Super Saiyan. The first phase is Super saiyan (phase/ascension/level 1) where the trigger to Super Saiyan, is triggered through, as Goku said "a response to need, not a desire" Goku and Vegeta, and Trunks all needed Super Saiyan at one point and thus were able to achieve the form. However Vegeta (at this point so there's no spoilers) Vegeta is a (phase 2/asension 2/level 2) Super Saiyan. In what we see it be called in games is "Super Vegeta" this form, is basically like Super Saiyan, but you might notice a few differences, first being the massive muscles, Super Saiyan level 2, is a heavier design of Super Saiyan level 1. (To show physical strength) the next difference is the hair. While Vegeta is much harder to tell, as his hair barely changes to begin with, also depending in animation, you'll notice his hair is actually longer, and crazier and sharper. To give an example, Vegeta's hair normally is like the tip of a pencil, it's wide but then goes up into a point, same with Super Saiyan level 1 (just a yellow color) while in Super Saiyan level 2 or Super Vegeta, his hair actually curves backwards a bit, rather than pointing straight up. Also for those who do know of what happens in the future of the series. No, Super Saiyan level 2, is not the same as y'know what. Toriyama made the name "level 2" to distinguish Super Saiyan, and Super Vegeta

Trunks really did look like a badass, he is a badass. Son of a badass but he wants to be noticed by Vegeta, to be seen as an equal in the eyes of his father. A sad touching moment. Gohan almost had it, he is getting there. Yeah Goku is dealing out top notch parenting in the time chamber. He has so much faith in his son. An opposite dynamic then Trunks and Vegeta, depends on the full blooded saiyan.
The Frieza saga was actually about 5 years before this. Gohan was 5 and a half approximately. He's 10 approximately rn. Also Gohan was close to becoming a super Saiyan. He didn't become one yet

To me It's not a new transformation this is more to me like a super Saiyan who's explored greater depths of it's power. It comparison to where he used to be he IS a super super Saiyan. On top of that Vegeta and trucks would have got more out of their training if they fought against each other and learn from one another being that still only shortened steel and this being a new territory is a good reason to put your pride aside. Goku is going to actually train with Gohan which will greatly need to new discoveries.

Cell cannot go super saiyan he does not have enough saiyan DNA to do so, all he has is saiyan aura.

In terms of Cell being able to go Super Saiyan or not its a yes and no. Cell does have Saiyan DNA in him and why he considers himself the perfect being cause he has ALL of the abilities that the other races have. We already seen him being able to regenerate parts of his body cause of the Namekian genetics in him. We also seen him power up and have a yellow aurora around him implying the Super Saiyan part.
I also don’t want to go in too much detail cause I don’t know if Madison reads the comments so I don’t want to spoil everything. Towards the end of a very specific event after we see a top tier Goku moment there is a specific event after that shows that Cell does have the ability to gain Super Saiyan power and also improve it and take new forms like Vegeta and Goku.
So yes he does have the ability but no cause he doesn’t get the yellow spiked hair and stuff but he does 100% get the abilities.
Semi perfect cell would be around 750 million to 800M in power level . Android 17 was stated to be around 340-350M and Imperfect cell was 400M same as 16 . So Vegeta would be around a billion in terms of power level
even though power levels at that point really doesn't matter anymore now its all about can you get the job done.

But over here it was the crisis they wer facing already as Vegeta let cell absorb 18 because of his pride and again cell been given the senzu bean and then gohan letting his pride which costs Goku his life. You know, watching this episode again now, I wonder if all the temperature fluctuations swirling around Trunks in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber were a reflection of his own inner turmoil, over the vast emptiness of the Chamber and over his relationship with his dad. Maybe it's a by-product of the chamber itself and the state of mind of whoever's in the chamber may cause the temperature swings.
Then again, it's also completely possible that the hot and cold swings were really just in Trunks' mind because of that turmoil, and that something about the power of the Chamber made the illusion of hot and cold swings in Trunks' mind. Note that the same fluctuations have no effect on Vegeta (in fact, he doesn't even seem to notice them) and that they disappear the moment he knocks Trunks away.
You're totally right, and much like you said - Trunks sees right through the crust and sees the lonely, yet unyielding, hardworking, and proud man within. This period of the story is so instrumental in both Vegeta's and Trunk's character arcs. We can see that Trunks now understands what his mother saw in Vegeta, even if Vegeta couldn't see it in himself. And Trunk's actions _(and what you will see later),_ are a catalyst in some of Vegeta's growth as a person and character. _(As well as certain other things to come...)_
If Trunks hadn't come to the past like this, the Vegeta you will eventually see in the future may never have come to be. I can't wait for you to see how it all plays out!

And when people look at it sometimes it often ponders the theoretical possibility. As for being 100% official I'm going to say no..... His aura is the only thing that sparks the debate.
Yes I know he's part Saiyan, but that doesn't mean he can do everything, if he literally could he would be able to change into Oozaru as well.
He only possesses their attack capabilities and the Saiyan genetics to do a zenkai boost when healed from heavy damage. And like Frieza he can survive anywhere. There's one more ability he has but I don't want to spoil that.

Cell’s power mainly derives from the different cells in his body. I think due to having the Saiyan cells, he can achieve super saiyan aura but not as a transformation but to be stronger. Having cells from all fighters gives cell some traits of theirs in combat
Cell has his own version of Super Saiyan, but it's only in his perfect form.
Super Vegeta and Trunks post-time chamber are in what's known as "Super Saiyan Grade 2" (The Original SSJ is Grade 1).
However later on when Trunks and Cell transform into their super buff forms, that's known "Super Saiyan Grade 3" but it slows them down greatly.
Vegeta knew about this weakness so he skipped Grade 3 and focused on Grade 2, but Trunks mistakenly trains in Grade 3.
Later Goku will demonstrate Grade 3 to Gohan and instruct him on the fact that they will both be going from Grade 1 to Grade 4.
Grade 4 is achieved by training your Grade 2 to the max, and its basically Super Saiyan Mastered completely- and in Grade 4 you can stay in it for weeks straight because you have a crapton of stamina- plus Grade 4 is even stronger than Grade 2 and is at least on par with the strength of Grade 3.
That means SSJ Grade 4 is the fastest, strongest, and has near limitless stamina (not power like the androids that have an unlimited power [albeit that power has a cap to it, it's just that it refills & never runs out]- but stamina meaning they wont tire out and lose their transformation unless they use all their power).
But back to Cell.
Perfect Cell has a SSJ like state that is achieved in this form, it has a glowing aura. He gets zenkai boosts like other saiyans. He has S (Saiyan Cells required for SSJ) Cells.
His transformation is akin to SSJ Grade 4.
However without spoiling to those reading the comments.. let's just say that later on you'll notice some electricity around Cell that appear around Gohan earlier than Cell.
That is indeed Cell's own version of what I'm referencing here.
The entire episode was spectacular. Super Vegeta "Trunks "Gohan and "Goku were all really good moments.
I think Vegeta’s relationship with Future Trunks is an underrated part of this arc. I feel like it really added to their character development since in the past Vegeta barely cared about anyone but himself while Trunks has never known what it’s like to have a father. Seeing you guys analyze the characters reminds me of when I first watched the show, you guys are my favorite Dbz reactors.

I believe, if I'm not mistaken, Cell can't turn super saiyan but he does have their aura like when he fought 17 and Piccolo. He also has the cells of Vegeta, Goku, Piccolo and Frieza so he knows how they all think and how to get at them. He also gets the Zenkai boost like Saiyans, can survive anywhere like Frieza and can regenerate like Piccolo.
Her questions sometimes makes me wonder how good her memory is lol.. "Does that mean he ascended?" "Cell has saiyan DNA, does that mean he can go super saiyan?" These things have not only been outright stated multiple times in the series by now, but demonstrated too in like the past 1 - 2 episodes.

One question was can cell trunk super saiyian, with only the cells from Goku and Vegeta and only to a point of when cell was created. So one could say cell at super saiyian has its limitations.

I have to admit that this is the only version of Trunks that I somewhat like. I still have my issues with him, but this is his best incarnation in the series so far imo. I've never liked Vegeta either tbh. He's too prideful. It's a deadly sin after all and Vegeta always shows why.
Cell is my favorite villain in the entire series. With all the cells he's comprised of, he has the potential within him to be the strongest being in all the universe. Being half blood Saiyan and human has shown the power that comes from it. (Gohan being able to achieve Super Saiyan very young for instance) This lends even more justification to my opinion.

This episode is the true turning point for fans of the show to truly love how awesome Trunks is.
At first, with the opening of the show, we were all like "who the F is that guy in the black tank top with a sword?! How cool is he?!
Then the episode came, when he was introduced. EVERYONE was awe struck, fawning over the new saiyan, a SUPER SAIYAN at that! And he destroyed Frieza and co. like it was just another day in the local pest exterminating joint.
This episode cemented the fans over to Trunks and reinforced in the next episodes

This one of the best vegeta moments for sure. on another note can you imagine how many gains you could make if something like the time chamber was real.
Oh god....the glimpse of Piccolo, his first teacher and friend, getting blasted. Gohan never used the glimpse of Krillin being killed by Frieza. This created the 'snap' for Gohan.
Have you ever watched it with eng subtitles? Funimation changed alot of what they say and talk about in translation. Goku actually told gohan that anger is what makes one a super saiyan. "Pop off with a bang"
Not sure if it's been mentioned but from what I recall Toriyama made "phases" or "ascensions" or "levels" like that for Super Saiyan. The first phase is Super saiyan (phase/ascension/level 1) where the trigger to Super Saiyan, is triggered through, as Goku said "a response to need, not a desire" Goku and Vegeta, and Trunks all needed Super Saiyan at one point and thus were able to achieve the form. However Vegeta (at this point so there's no spoilers) Vegeta is a (phase 2/asension 2/level 2) Super Saiyan. In what we see it be called in games is "Super Vegeta" this form, is basically like Super Saiyan, but you might notice a few differences, first being the massive muscles, Super Saiyan level 2, is a heavier design of Super Saiyan level 1. (To show physical strength) the next difference is the hair. While Vegeta is much harder to tell, as his hair barely changes to begin with, also depending in animation, you'll notice his hair is actually longer, and crazier and sharper. To give an example, Vegeta's hair normally is like the tip of a pencil, it's wide but then goes up into a point, same with Super Saiyan level 1 (just a yellow color) while in Super Saiyan level 2 or Super Vegeta, his hair actually curves backwards a bit, rather than pointing straight up. Also for those who do know of what happens in the future of the series. No, Super Saiyan level 2, is not the same as y'know what. Toriyama made the name "level 2" to distinguish Super Saiyan, and Super Vegeta

Trunks really did look like a badass, he is a badass. Son of a badass but he wants to be noticed by Vegeta, to be seen as an equal in the eyes of his father. A sad touching moment. Gohan almost had it, he is getting there. Yeah Goku is dealing out top notch parenting in the time chamber. He has so much faith in his son. An opposite dynamic then Trunks and Vegeta, depends on the full blooded saiyan.

The Frieza saga was actually about 5 years before this. Gohan was 5 and a half approximately. He's 10 approximately rn. Also Gohan was close to becoming a super Saiyan. He didn't become one yet

The name of his ascended form is Super Vegeta.
To me It's not a new transformation this is more to me like a super Saiyan who's explored greater depths of it's power. It comparison to where he used to be he IS a super super Saiyan. On top of that Vegeta and trucks would have got more out of their training if they fought against each other and learn from one another being that still only shortened steel and this being a new territory is a good reason to put your pride aside. Goku is going to actually train with Gohan which will greatly need to new discoveries.

To answer her question: He uses the energy of Super Saiyan, thats only the parts of cells the super computer gathered to create a perfect being. You can see the Super Saiyan strength by the aura hes emitting.
Honestly I bet if trunks was interested in the sayain history Vegeta would've actually indulged him so he knew of his noble bloodline and culture, and they could've bonded over that like campfire stories.
