At 7:40 you said parallel minor when I think you meant RELATIVE minor
The parallel minor to E major is e minor
The relative minor to E major is C# minor

Ah, yes of course! *Edit: Yes it's a translation thing... In Dutch it's called 'parallelle toonaarden' which translates to 'parallel keys' hence the wrongfully used terms!

It is called parallel minor in many european languages. Or so I assume cause it is called "parallel mol" in danish which is a european language. Logic.

Mr Paul David's is one guy, who in my opinion, has mastered the art of playing or using a guitar so damn amazingly that I actually struggle to watch the entirety of his videos cos it makes me feel absolutely bloody useless. Not trying to disrespect. Nothing but admiration and respect for his playing and for him. Some are born to do. Some not so much. Nothing but love.

Thank you so much for all of this. I'm starting playing guitar again after years of just taking out 1 hour per year to repeat the same 3,4 songs I've learned to play. And having done almost 10 years of music theory and 8 of piano younger has always make me feel like a fraud. Because I was. I was pretending playing the guitar (and the piano). All I was doing was mimics and repeating. Not a bad thing per se, but not what I really inteded to do.
Last months I've been studying everything again, thanks to the amazing content here on TH-cam. Besides the simple fact that I could listen to your smooth voice for hours :D, I'm starting to understand what the guitar neck, the piano and music has always been about. Thank you. A lot.

    Double thumbs up!
I've explained this to people many many times, but this was wonderful, visual, and easy to understand. Great video, Paul!

I've been the guitar for 20yrs but I skipped learning music theory after the first couple because I was able to learn some popular songs quickly and went from there, your video clears up a lot of questions and l'm able to see the fret board differently. Thanks alot, I'll be subscribing.

I have been playing guitar for like 6 years and used to play chords what sounded good to me. Never knew you could conceptualize it in a theory. Thanks Paul you are great!!

I will have to go back to this video once I'm better but I've been watching your vids so far and I love everything. Whether it's the subtle jokes, overall amazing explanation, good lighting or the luscious beard. Also I love the tele and strat colors. I wouldn't have taken them at first pick but now they are really growing on me.

    Such an awesome teacher!
This cool series on music theory now leaves you unsettled.. the real fun begins when you break out of diatonic progression.. but how to break out!

Thank you so much for making these awesome and easily understood videos ,I knew a little bit about music theory before watching these but you’ve truly given me a lot of clarity and I’m appreciative of that 🙂

Really appreciate the videos! I’m normally a piano player and a beginner guitar player but i was having a hard time translating the music theory from piano and applying to guitar. These videos have been very informative!

Terrific video. Makes it super easy for newbies to understand chord progressions. Thanks for posting this.

My all time favorite progression is a variation of the C#m, A, E, B progression.
    C#m7 - 446600
    Asus2- X02200
    E - 022100
    Bsus4 224400
I add the 5th in the bass for extra richness, but it isnt required.

damn That sounds too good.....could you suggest some more progressions or where do you find them?

    • @wcproductions2024
      @wcproductions2024 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@abhaychauhan751 I discovered that one, one day while just strumming some chords. It's really just Em C G D but moved down to the key of C#.
