@Timmy Doughavin I doubt his business is booming. The telling sign is the fact that he took down the original sign, and replaced it with a much more mild one, and he even admitted in hindsight that he might have gone too far. Doesn't sound like it's booming to me, sounds more like he panicked.
It's entirely possible that if his story went viral, sure there might be an outreach of conservative support, and he could see a sudden spike in business as with all things viral... but it would only be temporary. Bottomline is he has effectively reduced his customer base by over half, so instead of selling to 100% of the potential customers in his area, he now only has 40% potential customers. It's just not a sustainable winning formula, even if he could squeeze every penny of the customers he does retain. It could take years for his business to recover assuming he survived. Mainly by putting away all political propaganda and making sure to keep his business apolitical, and by finding newer customers who would not be aware of his company's history because the old ones just ain't coming back

@Timmy Doughavin Partisan contempt and exclusion seem to be a good business model for certain entrepreneurs on the right. @@popireal3628 When a business pulls off this kind of stunt it's because they are desperate. It is a risky strategy but it can and often does pay off. Yes you lose some customers, but you gamble on the fact that your political statement will attract others and that will make up for the loss and more.
You don't have to target every potential customer, it's one strategy among many and if you have a generic, uninteresting product that's neither particularly good or cheap you probably won't do very well. But you can do very well if you only target a small slice of the whole market if you are more or less the only one that does so.
I despise these type of tactics I find them sleazy and dishonest but they do work more often than I would like them to.

Absolutely. And it doesn't matter the politics.
It can from the right wing like this person or from the left wing (?) / feminist side where they decided to treat male customers badly and the business went bankrupt.
I'm fairly liberal* but the common marketplace should be secular.
However- people should *not* have treated him with incivility. They should have simply withdrawn their business. Or at worst said, "I'm sorry but your sign angered me and I don't want to do patronize your business."

Now the Delta variant combined with the numbers of anti-vaxxers in this county make my decision a smart one, especially in light of this county still having a 15% infection rate as well as the highest Covid-related hospitalization rate in the STATE (and all the new hospitalization cases are NON-VACCINATED people!).

Right around that same time Donald J Trump was seeing and and paying a doctor to say he had 'bone spurs' so that he could get out of serving his country. He never had bone spurs, it was a lie, but he got just what he wanted (as usual, because that's what narcissists do) so needless to say Trump didn't have to go in the service!
