@dariosotherradio gee, thank you very much!!! It was soooo hot, thank you for appreciating how beautiful it was. Kakadu is one of our favourites for sure, beautiful and deadly is a great way of describing it!!! :)
I truly enjoyed this episode. From the bird sounds at your campsite, to the other wildlife you encountered around the billabong, it was a feast for the senses and really tugged the heartstrings of an old timer like me. Except for one thing...the crocs. I was fortunate enough to not have crocs around growing up in the 70's and early 80's near Cooktown. They had been wiped out in our area at that time, giving us free range to roam and swim where we wanted like the feral kids we were. The last school holidays in 1982 when I came home from boarding school, was the only time I ever saw a croc(small) in the wild, as they were just starting to repopulate our beautiful river system. After that I moved overseas for university, so I have never understood the appeal of these dangerous grotesque animals. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and perhaps I grew up in the wrong era to appreciate them, but man, never having to worry about them opened up an entire world that todays traveler/camper/adventurer cannot realize. A fantastic episode you two..perhaps your best. Thanks heaps!
Hi Steve! Stoked that you enjoyed that! Yes, it was quite a feast for our senses too! The bird sounds were insane. We often said nothing just to listen to the cacophony of birds. I was glad Ricky agreed to camp there at such Kate time fi the year, hot, humid but absolutely gorgeous nevertheless. I’m sure it would be cooking in that like Cooktown is now 🥵😆. We have teen but we will! Crocodiles are aplenty nowadays. We only have awe and respect for them. They also remind us we have overstayed our welcome, especially not sharing our barramundi with them! Haha. Wow, that would have been an awesome time for you growing up with being free to swim anywhere! We cannot quite do that, hence my bucket and cup method of refreshing myself! Hahaha. So good you enjoyed that!!! Perhaps you would enjoy a replay of one of our favourites th-cam.com/video/Hb9BSg0_tLU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qtVEtBL_xBbHf-1g
Hahaha! With the tabo method to save on water, right? 😜 it was super init where we were. As soon as you have yo your blurted, it’s dry and ready to be worn again in an hour! We had an amazing time fishing at night too! Our perseverance paid off! 😝
@alsonreybretana8937 That was my first (and maybe my last time) fishing at night. The good thing is, you can actually see crocodile's eyes at night. The "tabo" method is how you save water, right? hahaha. Oh yes, the croc encounter was a bit crazy scary.
I can't believe I missed this until now. We've had rain for 3 days straight and the ground is soaking and forming puddles. Oh man I know what fishing can be like, forget about the dark when the urge is there, go with it. 🤣I've been out fishing on the reefs and the tide has turned and waited until the last minute to return to shore, a bit of swimming is allowed😛. My excuse the fish were biting but no catching, 😂 Great episode Margy and Ricky. I have to say this before I forget I think Ricky is the better chef. 😇 Love that you guys are still hanging in there. 💋💋By the way that croc wasn't having it 🤣 it's breeding season, the boat was obviously too gorgeous to be a female. Looking forward to the next episode. 🥰
@carteblanch1811 thank you so much and for appreciating what we go through! 🥰 Yes, I cannot believe how Ricky convinced me to fish at night! It wasn’t fun at all as we cousins see anything!! 😵💫 I love your excuse of fish biting but not catching and the tinny being too gorgeous to be female! Haha! It really gave it a good slap!! Ricky is indeed the better cook 😍 He even made me that gourmet sandwich that I was bleetin on about 😂. I can eat better than I can cook for sure! Hehehe. Not sure if you saw our last episodes. We released one for the past three weeks but had to change it from Saturday release to a Sunday giving us more time for the editing 😝 Ep36 th-cam.com/video/AhsJbjGCbJ0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gM4Ys09LwcQB7Pmw Ep 37 th-cam.com/video/lYut1cqTKO0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hfNIkbHBnNBcfyHX
@Sailing_KALLI thanks for appreciating the drone footages!! It was so hot filming the carvings that Ricky’s phone died, good thing he was able to fly the drone high enough to see where it was! 😆 Definitely a very hot experience for us all, people, gadgets and all! 😂
@Sailing_Kalli We use Final Cut Pro on our MacBook. One off purchase which is awesome, not an annual subscription like how Adobe Premier charges. It’s also easier (for me) to learn it. I airdrop mostly from our iPhones to the MacBook or the iPad. The sharing of files is so seamless - minus the SD cards from the GoPros which has to be processed the old fashioned method! We also have external hard drives so that our MacBook is not so cluttered with files we haven’t deleted yet. I can show you when we meet up in Darwin! 😊
@Sailing_KALLI our GoPro batteries suffer the most, followed by iPhones accidentally left in the sun. We only had one problem with the drone overheating. We are much kinder to it now 🥵😬
Great video Ricky and Margie! ❤️. Love the scenery it's spectacular, and the footage was amazing as always. Thanks for the smiles and laughter, on my birthday today! Eeeeeek that angry croc!
@NicolaConnolly happiest 🎁 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎊🦀🐟🐠🍤🐡🎂🍷🍻🍺 birthday!!!!! Yayyyyy wishing you the best celebrations today on your birthday and always!!! Great to be celebrating it with the smiles and laughter from our video. Oh yes, with the crocodile slapping the side of our boat too!! 😵💫😝
@Hookedonwildventures Thanks so much! You two are gorgeous people and so brave. The heat, let alone would send me loco. Add a croc. I'd be like a Jesus Bird! Hahaaaaaaaaaaaa 😊❤️❤️❤️❤️
@NicolaConnolly awwww it seems you are sa superbly beautiful human being too! We are hoping you are getting spoilt today!!! 🎉🎉🎉we cut out some clips that show how much hotter it actually was - ten degrees cooler in the shade but we had to persist! Hahaha 😝
@Hookedonwildventures my partner just arrived home with freshly chucked oysters 😋. Yum! Today I've been totally spoilt and later we gather with family to have a little party. Added you guys on Instagram too hahaaa xxxx.
@NicolaConnolly awwwwww how lovely!!! We will think if you the next time we shuck oysters off the rocks in the Kimberleys! Will fetch an old photo and share on insta. Just followed you back there too!!
Awesome video again. Well done to you and Ricky 👏 closed season for barra here at moment so very jealous. Bringing back memories of kakadu and great fishing 🎣
@jeremydelaney6364 Ricky confirmed my suspicions - we have it a lot more laxed here, we don't even close Shady camp anymore! It's flooding in the camp areas that would prevent us from going back (oh, and the extreme humidity! haha) but yes, we do get to enjoy Kakadu the way we did. Did you love the sounds of the birds?? They were everywhere, beautiful sounds throughout the day (and night)!!! We hope you also have a laugh with us fishing our backyard - th-cam.com/video/AhsJbjGCbJ0/w-d-xo.html
Yes l love the bird life. Worked at south Alligator resort for a while and loved it and jabiru. If you and Ricky ever come to north Queensland let me know 😊
@jeremydelaney6364 Kakadu magic, right? Yes, we will keep in touch and let you know if we are ever your way. We have now included it in our plans!!! It’s good that our latest episode has brought you back home to the NT 😊
@Damienp01 Great to hear from you and yes, Ricky took a bit of convincing as to how it was going to be an amazing trip, balanced with how hot it was going to be! We nearly went home with the extreme heat...about 40 degrees at 8 am in the morning!!! We didn't measure humidity anymore as we knew it would have been 90% or so, haha! Nevertheless, we are so glad we persisted and experienced what we did! That same croc came up at the back of our boat where the bubble were but both our GoPros died and by the time we had it recording, we could only see bubbles as to where it's hiding. We really had to leave its premises!!
@Mr78017801 Glad you enjoyed that episode! We hope you would enjoy Episode 36 too along the same vein as this episode - th-cam.com/video/AhsJbjGCbJ0/w-d-xo.html and of course, when Strick and Fran did a shout out... th-cam.com/video/lYut1cqTKO0/w-d-xo.html
@TheOneHundredPercent thank you so much! We are glad you enjoyed the episode and the camera work :) Unfortunately, our GoPro died during the croc attack and Ricky accidentally flipped the drone up with the croc slapping the back of our small boat! ahhhh yep, we gathered we overstayed our welcome when we didn't want to feed it the barramundi we were catching!!!
@Hookedonwildventures haha 😂 totally, when a 4 meter croc suggests u leave, u leave. He gave the boat a solid thud with that tail. Glad things ended well. ✌🏽
@TheOneHundredPercent ahhh yep, we got the memo alright!!! 😵💫😝 We think you would thoroughly enjoy this other episode, with more than three crocs staying next to our boat but the size of where we were helped a lot in this instance 😂 th-cam.com/video/Hb9BSg0_tLU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LvKref8rMOYtTNzg
@anthonypoole6507 thank you so very much! We would love to have viewers like you supporting us, helping us grow by watching, sharing and connecting with us!! Yayyyyy!!! Welcome to our tribe! We hope you enjoy the rest of our 38 videos! 😊
You both need to be certified absolutely bonkers for playing around with those “ mud geckos with big teeth “ . One day in Gove ,my workmate and myself were catching Mangrove Jack in the stinking heat and humidity a local Dhimiru ( spelling ) ranger drove done to the riverbank and told us bout a big black 4.5 Metre croc was taking buffalo along the creek bank where we were catching fish . Needless to say , off we went with undue haste lol lol .
@reddyman6915 😂 glad you enjoyed that episode with us! 😬 “stinking heat and humidity”, you know what it’s like!! Thankfully we had the tiny tinny separating us from the mud gecko with big teeth but that’s all we needed - one slap and we decided we overstayed our welcome, especially that we didn’t feed it the barramundi we were catching!! 🥵. Ricky and I sued to walk and fish this bank and I did hear the most excruciating sound from a cow with big splashes on the water, followed by a complete silence. We didn’t go back walking that bank and billabong ever! You will also enjoy Episode 11 of you haven’t seen it yet that runs along the same vein as this but we had a more robust transport 😝 th-cam.com/video/Hb9BSg0_tLU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=s8jmJJKVLr0zhJp5
Girl, we was just talking about the bloody crocs on your live stream last week! 😂😂😂 How? How do you keep your wits about ya?! And then to prepare lunch by the banks? Y’all are nuts! 😂😂😂
@rjcoparanormal3129 ahhhhhh...yep...there were some rogue ones at Kakadu this time! The bloody bubbles at the back of the tinny after it went under the boat was a sign we had to leave the premises....and then we were hoping there was less barra towards our camp. We were ready to throw onion rings at them! hahaha.
@thomasprince4992 We did buy a gun for that reason but never found it necessary to be taking it. Our latest experience with this angry croc made us rethink if we should (from now onward...!).
@thomasprince4992 like sharks, they usually go for the (easy) injured animal.
