I'm getting to a place where the only option is letting go and letting God. I can't choose the right woman. If I follow lust or desire, I'll only end up in hell here on earth. If God wants a woman in my life, He'll put the right woman in my life. I have to work on myself internally, heal myself, grow. I've always delivered the goods ; respect, devotion, communication, financial and emotional support, you name it. Never fell for marriage though, no kids either. When I was in a slope, woops, they were gone. Found out the same way every man finds out, that women take everything we do ( and more, of course ) for granted, and hardly ever feel grateful ( if so, not for long ) or tempted to return the same courtesy. Also, women have a sixth sense when it comes time to picking their next sucker victim. They are well aware about what we've been told about them ( it's the same pristine false image of the sensitive caring person who can never do any wrong intentionally that we see in movies or commercials ) and they use it to their advantage. So now that I'm too old for that constant drama, I salute your stance, which is a mark of hard earned wisdom, but me personally, I would't even trust the Lord's very own selection. I'm done. Have been single for a year and still got plenty of healing and cognitive corrections to adress. To better days my friend.
I’ve never believed in the institution of marriage because if two people like each other that’s all they need if it goes sour you can just go your own ways. This philosophy stuck with me…Tie two birds together and although they have four wings they cannot fly.
I believe in the institution of marriage, because the institution itself comes from Most High GOD. What I don't believe in is the definition of marriage according to man & the constraints that come along with it. With that said, I am fully aware the adversary (Satan) is doing everything in his power to usurp GOD's proper order, but until I meet a woman that subscribes &/or follows GOD's covenant concerning marriage, i have no problem remaining unmarried.

I'm so damn heartbroken after this last woman I've literally been sick for over 3 weeks...I took it seriously, I loved her with all my heart. I worked with a guy who had a camping trailer and all of the things that go along with it. He met a girl that said she loved camping. They had great times. As someone who married the wrong woman......what I learned is that the only way I'd ever do it again is if I knew without a shadow of a doubt that she was genuinely authentic in the same way that I live my life. She has to show through her actions that she is dedicated to the cause of doing the right thing because it's the right thing....not expecting a certain result.

Born in the early 60s. At the time of my upbringing, most women were stay-at-home moms, and the men had the upper hand. A lot of women had a slave like life, while depending on their husband's earnings ( if any ) for everything. Some men were big time cheaters, alcoolics, abusers, or foolish spenders. As I ( and others ) grew up, I hoped to treat my future girlfriend better then my seniors did their wife. Turns out, the better you try to treat them, the more they treat you like shit. So for me, it's no use, and totally not worth the pain. But you know, people in general tend to tell or show us what we would hope to hear or see, until they've gotten what they were after, and then, you're history. It is nevertheless, a very very sad state of affair. Kind of renders life meaningless. I'm glad to be too old for this. Lord, protect us.

Right on, brother. As far as I’m concerned it’s not even an option. Back before the 1980s when there wasn’t no-fault divorce and before the 1970s when there wasn’t government-enforced child support…THEN it was an option. Not a very favorable option, but at least an option. Now any sane man with an IQ above 50 shouldn’t even consider it. Moving forward, the dynamics between the sexes needs to be revised in light of the fact that traditional roles no longer exist. The world has rejected biblical marriage and made it legally impossible. Why people even use the word marriage is confusing to me since it resembles nothing of the biblical marriage. Where do we go from here? I don’t know. I think monk mode is the only choice.

I just turned 50 in mid-September 2024, never married, no kids. It ain't gonna happen, I won't let it happen and for so many different reasons. The dating world alone, forget about the pain and suffering of divorce and all the dramas leading up to "the day of the wedding," the dating/romance world alone is a circus of games that has locked feemails into bouncing over and over and over again making men expendable.
No man can find the incentive to want to go through the various burdens to be "desirable" AND then be a "traditional man" to provide a universe of comforts just to deal with the kinds of liabilities and high probability she will end the relationship the second she loses THE FEELINGS and found a fresh host on the dating app or at the club with "ladies night out."
The key to life is to never make a decision in life based on an emotional state. This includes "positive" emotions like love. If you're gonna get married, make sure it's founded on something tangible, like starting a family or paying less income tax. Also, always get a prenup. Do not allow your emotions to be manipulated through them questioning your "love" or guilt tripping you. Make every decision with a sober mind and with purpose and tangible benefit.
I'd happily have the ceremony with family and all that, but to legally get married under the law on paper? It's a trap! Most women want to use a man for financial security. My good friend who is female literally told me she married her husband who is 10 years older (she's 32) because he had a house and she was tired of struggling and living in her condo. If he has kids with her she has guaranteed child support or even alimony if it doesn't work out. If she wont stay with you without getting married, my dude, run!

My brother and me both single live alone in our own homes we dont hate men or women and wd help people but marriage is a business i can go anywhere but if married yoy both have to decide where to go? When? The price? Some have a Foster child and are single and live alone in their house. Marriage is a business if marry yoy both will lose money and both lose your identity and both psy bills both. Actually i have never what i know of and still it can be just me thought in the same way as you do, fear is a good thing to have it can make you get very far as long as you don't let that fear control you. Every day i carry a spiritual armor of fear, i do that because i can see things far before it reaches. This is how mythical i am as a person, if you constantly get rewarding comments from others you will never grow. You will only grow when you recieve critics, do you know why ? Because nice compliments can lure you to think that you are the one while a dagger is pointed to your throat. When i critisize you, you take it harshly but instead you should be thankful to recieve the critics. This is how Bruce Lee became the man who he wanted to be, it wasn't about the cheering from the audience but the critics that made him that man, that superhuman and still a very humble person. If you want to be remembered by others then let them speak about you who you were as a person, don't let your self fall down to preaching about who you are as a person. Let others do the talking because the more you waste your time telling people about how strong you are and how great you are the more you will just feed the devil. You have one mouth and two ears to listen, the more you listen the more you will grow and the more you will become decisive about your goals. Actions speaks alot more than words. You are young and you know this is true what i am telling you. You have lot of time to grow as a human person and to become greater than you can imagine.
I was with my girlfriend for 30 years and I didn’t want to get married because now you’ve got strangers involved and legal papers ect. Then people would say if you’ve been together for that long you are legally married. Bullshit..you see they try their best to sneak in there.
