i find it hilarious when people try to claim this is a rebadged Tahoe. Their mentality is that like the Lincoln Navigator or like the Infiniti QX80, the only major difference from it's lower end counter parts is the exterior design and some interior color changes. This could not be further from the truth. Unlike those two mid-level luxury SUV's this is a high end luxury SUV with its own unique interior architecture, its own unique interior material palate, its own unique suspension set up (magnetic ride), its own engine (6.2L the Tahoe only has the 5.3L), more sound dampening, and class unique luxury features. simply put its right up near the top in full sized luxury SUV's inside and out.
Robert Sil y a 3 semaines2016. I've had nothing but problems . As a matter of fact I'm getting a 2nd to 3rd gear shift flare again, I know third gears gonna go bye-bye again. This thing is going back lemon law 🍋 LOL..... How about that pisspants ????
The button that switches the magnetic ride driving modes is one of those capacitive touch buttons to the left of the infotainment system; above the buttons for the power adjustable pedals. You can see it at the 3:50 mark.
She's a beast whether you like it or hate it this thing catches your Attention. When this body style came out I was in D.C. I had rented a BMW 3 series. I saw people driving new Mercedes, Audi, Infiniti etc. And saw this beast in pearl white, where the sun was shinning on it so, making a turn with those jewel headlights you couldnt miss it. Everyone was staring. Cadillac makes some beautiful vehicles
gedaman wrong, the Escalade and Denali we're designed together, in 99 the base model of Yukon were different and in 2000 the regular Yukon and Yukon XL were brand new and the Denali and Escalade were on the old platform and 2002 was when the new came out it was skipped in 2002
There's a sport mode button on the left side of the infotainment screen. Looks like a shock absorber. The tow haul button on the gear lever changes the transmission shift points to keep the engine in the power band a bit longer, it also helps with grade shifting going downhill.
Richie Betz Yeah right...The Audi Q7, Mercedes GLS, Volvo XC90, Lexus LX, Bentley Bentayga surpasses the Escalade way more in luxury, handling, off-road capability, and technology.
dcharizard91 I'm going to stick with the official rankings instead of the "opinion rankings" if you will... thanks for attempting. But yet again, Cadillac has unexpectedly come up with a lot of "haters" in recent years so that explains it...
Ehh... I got in this thing at the Chicago auto show. In the short wheel base model, the third row is ridiculously uncomfortable and absolutely no leg room. Went and tried the third row of the Chrysler Pacifica, very spacious, very comfortable, I could take a road trip back there and I'm a 5'7" man.
Nice Tahoe. GM must make money hand over fist on these things, $40k markup from a Tahoe more or less which already has huge margins. Yes it will have a bit more than a loaded Tahoe but not more than $5k worth.
SS S I read somewhere that General Motors makes more than $20,000 in profit on each Cadillac Escalade sold. They deserve it for all of the fools paying nearly $100,000 for these monstrosities.
Idk have you ever estimated the cost of wrapping three rows of seats, four doors and an entire dashboard in top of the line leather, and then adding auto retracting side steps, as well as the other expenses? keep in mind this is a platinum, which is not the the base price. LTZ tahoes go above 50k and this starts around 70k
The seats are leather; the doors, dash, and third row are vinyl/leatherette. But it would be very expensive to wrap all in leather. It just doesn't feel like it's worth its price, especially when you look at its competition.
mountainhobo agreed but at least its not as bad n blantant as it was b4...where gm pretty much gave us the middle finger by giving the yukon/tahoe/escalade the exact same interior n pieces...lol
Cadillac took an old-fashioned approach to what a luxury SUV should be. However, I prefer the Range Rover because it retains the SUV DNA many vehicles lack, such as the BMW X5 and Audi Q7, while delivering a modern take with interior timings, hybrid and diesel powertrains, and Terrain Response.
Ethan Baker Ehhh...no. At least knob shifters and buttons don't require much effort or are as clunky to use. Not to mention, look how hideously huge the steering column is.
The biggest competition I think would be the Mercedes GLS. The Lexus LX 570 came out over 10 years ago and in my opinion is a joke. The Infiniti QX80 came out in 2010, and although I think it's a nice looking rig, wouldn't be anything I'd ever be interested in. The review mentioned the Escalade feeling like the same size as a Highlander on the inside. What I do think is interesting, is that the Volvo XC90 and the Audi Q7 seem smaller on the outside, yet still have 3 rows of seating. For about $60,000 I'd be all over the XC 90. Less money, great quality, amazing safety record, and so much easier to find parking.
Moe Elhorchi the cylinders on the driver side are the odd number and the cylinders on the passenger side are the event number, and in 4 cylinder mode it uses cylinder 1,4,6 and 7 to keep it balanced
For how much???!! I don't think so Caddy! Needs alot more refinement & Maintenance reliability to ask that much. Knocking on Range Rovers territory now!
If I am to get one I would get one and send over to john Hennessy and get him to make it go from 420hp to 850hp also it's way better than a Tahoe/Yukon I mean most people don't even compare it to a navigator anymore because of how much better it is getting I think it's the best American SUV you can buy but definitely not the best in the world
This guys contradict himself he says the 7 row is cramped and they at the end of the video says the caddi does excellent at carrying 7 in luxury, wouldn't say luxury is being cramped.
mohamed ali it costs more to have it fully loaded. It also isn’t as technologically advanced and is pretty outdated. If I were to get an lx570, I would wait for the next body lift
Bruuuuh...... Tighten up your skills. The truck has been out for two years and you should have brushed up on the features before doing the video. I'm still going to subscribe because you are a brotha tho. Still tighten up man,you looked uniformed on an already reviewed product and I don't like seeing my people look ignorant.
Nissan GTR Fanboy You been listening to people who are lying about ecoboost mpg. The people who really have driven ecoboost and got low mpg. Had their foot n the tank. You can't drive a turbo like you stole it and good mpg.
i mean just look at the tests done by TFL car, the 6.2L and even fords own 5.0 beat the turbo under any type of load or none grandma like driving situations. simply put, the eco boost not only has the worst reliability in its class, but it also consumes far more fuel then advertised.
Dude TFL, really? Them guys thought an 85 Chevy 305 had a 10 to one compression ratio. The 5.0 make 385 pot and the ecoboost make 420 pot. It take more fuel to make 420 pot. Drive the ecoboost like you want to save fuel and you will. Drive it like you want to feel 420 pot from every stop light and will drain the tank.
GM, you serious with this thing? How about a serious rethink and redesign, the days of these BARGES on wheels are like so in the rear view mirror (or camera) and so too is the ridiculous rebadging (with the 40k or so tack on) thanks for the thought but I'll pass - nice review none-the-less Antuan, not your fault this useless relict still exists, at this price point you have to wonder why potential buyers don't cross shop within the GM family (hell, they're all the same truck)
Anthony Webber I don't mean less power. GM needs to come up with a smaller displacement V8 powerhouse for their premium SUVs and P/U trucks and retire that old 'tow truck' engine. You pay out that kind of money, you deserve something truely special. Over $107,000 Canadian for this Platinum and it comes with an engine that every contractor has in their Silverado 2500. I'd like to see GM resurrect the 5.7L and supercharge it. Iconic small block, modern technology and forced fed..500+ hp and gobs of torque. Luxury car manufacturers are doing it every day and it's time for Cadillac to step up.
kako to mislis? zar nema nista lepseg od Escalade ovde u evropi svi u nemackim vozilima, od moje 19 godine vozim samo Cadillac ali dobro svako ima pravo na svoje mislenje ajde ziv bio!

I love every gen of the Escalade except for the 1st gen.
TJC450 The first generation was just a GMC Yukon Denali with Cadillac badges.
gedaman wrong, the Escalade and Denali we're designed together, in 99 the base model of Yukon were different and in 2000 the regular Yukon and Yukon XL were brand new and the Denali and Escalade were on the old platform and 2002 was when the new came out it was skipped in 2002
Not Cooley? Not watching.
The lisp makes the entire video very smooth
gary zhao Right??? Lmao
Nice job Cadillac, I just wish it had a volume knob.
Curtis Reid true

Has to be the best SUV right now hands down...
Haha good one there, oh wait, are you serious?
+Felipe Queirolo Well according to official car magazines, yes.
Paul Rho No... just no...

Can you link please link the music in the video?
Can he see over the steering wheel? Or reach the pedals?
I really like your speech improvement, man!! Keep up the good work

Drive and sit in both, youll see the difference. I have
Karun Chendrimada The caddy is better I agree I've been in both. I am disagreeing that it is $40,000 better.

I've noticed the leg room issue as well and it's an existing problem because I've always had that issue with this vehicle.
My dream car! 👍👍👍
GM -- badge engineering all the way to the bank.
And the Sequoia/LX are not?
Was this about Toyota or GM? Or have you never heard of 'tu quoque' fallacy?
ma7mgte Nope...it's Land Cruiser/LX, which are very close in price.
mountainhobo agreed but at least its not as bad n blantant as it was b4...where gm pretty much gave us the middle finger by giving the yukon/tahoe/escalade the exact same interior n pieces...lol
Umm Im just saying The Lexus LX is only $5k more than the Land cruiser, which in term is really reasonable, especially when you step inside
awesome truck. but to sell it after a few years is very difficult.i still have mine since 09. dam gas guzzler!
Cadillac took an old-fashioned approach to what a luxury SUV should be. However, I prefer the Range Rover because it retains the SUV DNA many vehicles lack, such as the BMW X5 and Audi Q7, while delivering a modern take with interior timings, hybrid and diesel powertrains, and Terrain Response.
dream garage would be this and a cts v
where's cooley?
Can't believe Cadillac still uses a clunky column shifter in 2017...definitely impedes on the feeling of luxury on something that is used often.
dcharizard91 better than push button or rotary knob shifters
Ethan Baker Ehhh...no. At least knob shifters and buttons don't require much effort or are as clunky to use. Not to mention, look how hideously huge the steering column is.
dcharizard91 seems we have a difference in opinions cuz I hate those buttons and knobs and love traditional lever and column shifters
are you really that lazy
sit in ANY new mercedes, the all have column shifters now lol even the c class
that touchscreen looked painfully slow, like 2008 smartphone...
What would you say when you drive a nice car.....? Exactly, it drives like a Cadillac!!
when will Cadillac put the new Bose panaray audio system in this and add even more speakers!
The biggest competition I think would be the Mercedes GLS. The Lexus LX 570 came out over 10 years ago and in my opinion is a joke. The Infiniti QX80 came out in 2010, and although I think it's a nice looking rig, wouldn't be anything I'd ever be interested in.

Love this truck. Only reason I like it was the engine, based from the LT1.
What's a Tahoe and what's wrong with it? I'm from the UK, that's why I'm asking.
Well that's why there's the Escalade ESV
new navigator kills dis
V4?
Ibrahim M there is no such thing as V4 only 4 cylinders
i guess you never heard of a Saab Sonett
Ibrahim M if one bank is working and the other is not, to maximize fuel efficiency, then the one bank would be called a 4 cylinder
Moe Elhorchi it uses two cylinders from both banks
Moe Elhorchi the cylinders on the driver side are the odd number and the cylinders on the passenger side are the event number, and in 4 cylinder mode it uses cylinder 1,4,6 and 7 to keep it balanced
im waiting on the new navigator
For how much???!! I don't think so Caddy! Needs alot more refinement & Maintenance reliability to ask that much. Knocking on Range Rovers territory now!
That OFF CENTER antenna is highly annoying !
Volume for you're video is too low.
Just what the world. Another truck the size of a house
the one in the video is the small one, you can get Escalade ESV which is bigger
only Brian Cooley!!
If I am to get one I would get one and send over to john Hennessy and get him to make it go from 420hp to 850hp also it's way better than a Tahoe/Yukon I mean most people don't even compare it to a navigator anymore because of how much better it is getting I think it's the best American SUV you can buy but definitely not the best in the world
The problem with Cadillac losing resell value and dealer dose not have support if you want change to new model
This GM product is on the CR top 10 least reliable vehicule for 2017..... right there with FCA and Mitsubishi...... way to go Cadillac...
This guys contradict himself he says the 7 row is cramped and they at the end of the video says the caddi does excellent at carrying 7 in luxury, wouldn't say luxury is being cramped.
Cadillac's flagship is this cow
If its stupid and it works, then it ain't stupid.
I would buy this if ppl stop stealing it
Not even close to the Lincoln navigator
경제적 자유가 높은 국가의 국민은 멀리 이동 한다고 하는군요 멀리 가기 위해서는 편하고 큰 자동차는 필수죠 🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇳
Bigger than Life? Than a Land Rover must e bigger than the world.
For that price, I rather buy the new Lexus LX570.
mohamed ali For that price, I rather buy the new Cadillac Escalade - oh wait...

It is a rebadged Tahoe/Suburban. Sorry, no deal...
just buy a TESLA. it will make you smile everyday. simple
$95,000 for a SUV with a push rod v8 engine. # stupid
how so? it still gets better MPG in the real world than fords eco boost and it is ultra light weight / compact.
Nissan GTR Fanboy You been listening to people who are lying about ecoboost mpg. The people who really have driven ecoboost and got low mpg. Had their foot n the tank. You can't drive a turbo like you stole it and good mpg.

GM 6.2L makes 460 lb·ft torque and can run on 4 cylinders when needed
Worst car of 2016 per Consumer Reports.
92 grand!
i rather get the Denali
give me new navigator
It is truly a Cadillac Escalade. Ghastly monstrosity on wheels.
17 mpg combined. Calls it efficient. smh
a house runing on the road
Pimp Wagon from Government Motors.
I still would probably prefer a Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban, but still the escalade is quite something.
talk about for but this shit looks jst like the Tahoe and suburban same suv different name but they take ford
GM, you serious with this thing? Way too big of an engine in this thing!
nope

just cause someone else is doing it doesn't Cadillac as too
Anthony Webber It's just my opinion. Escalade is nothing more then a fancy Suburban, a 3 dressed up as a 9!
that is true to a degree, and from people commenting on this video there are other SUV's like it
90k! Might as well get a Tesla Model X. The tech alone is years ahead of this thing.
Ugly ugly car....
kako to mislis?
zar nema nista lepseg od Escalade
ovde u evropi svi u nemackim vozilima,
od moje 19 godine vozim samo Cadillac
ali dobro svako ima pravo na svoje mislenje
ajde ziv bio!
Bojan Petrovic No?
can't beet a caddy
Nice Cnet. Getting a black guy to review the cadillac. #Racist
$100K for a GM product.....
Daniel Shulman It's a Cadillac Escalade not a Cobalt
