I have one question please help me if you can I wanted to buy a telescope which is portable and in my limits So Nexstar 8se is out of budget. And 8inch dobsonian is huge for transport So I'm on scientific explorer 10 inch truss tube telescope Can you please tell me the cons of this telescope
Hey Batman; The new ES UL10 truss dob is a great scope for the money. It's the easiest dob to collimate because it's all done at the front. It's also light enough to be truly portable. I started out with a 10" solid tube dob. They're big enough aperture wise to go fairly deep but small enough to be portable. The only downsize is if you get aperture fever, which can be as contagious as Covid among us astronomers. 😄 Then you'll want a 12 or 16.
That looks like a great alt-az mount! Nice work with the setting circles and the mount in general. And beautiful scopes! Is the red one a DIY scope? Clear skies!
Happy New Uear …Thank u so much for sharing your Knowledge and wisdom !!! ( i missed the pointer ) …. I ❤ all your videos … Can you please share how to adapt your tripod to pier … I believe I have the same Celestron tripod ?I even made a PVC Pipe Pier after watching one of your videos … Thank you again …
Thanks Christian; For the adaption to tripod I simply use 5/8 machine bolts. Cut them to the desired length and drill holes in the tripod base and upper base then tighten it all down with a nut below and above each plate. You could simply use 3/8" plate steel for the upper plate and drill a center hole to allow a 3/8" bolt to pass through into the Sky-T. 🪐
This thing nowhere in stock for months. So Annoying.
Thank you for the video. Which company in Germany did you order this from. Please let me know. I am planning to buy one. Thanks.

Awesome idea :)
Looks kinda awkward?
Nope. It is not awkward. It's a solid beast of a mount. I have one. It needs a chunky tripod to sit on.
