I have one of the most authentic martial arts lineages in the US and My wife is one of the highest ranked females in the world at 7th degree black belt. All of that said, in the Newark/East orange NJ area Muslims are not even close to knowing the importance of self-protection. We both have passed out our information at the Masajid in the area. 100s of flyers and yet, the people who come into train are the non Muslims. Even those who have been Muslim for many years are not familiar with the way of the Sahabah (May Allah be pleased with them all) and their training.
If I was in a life or death situation (hand to hand combat)? would it be sunnah to fight from the soutphaw stance? (right hand leading) I write with my right, aim with my right eye, throw and punch hardest with my left. Is there any etiquette on combat?
It is forbidden and there are several Hadeeth proving this. It now becomes a choice to follow your own whims and desires or follow what Allah subahanu wa ta'ala ordained. You decide.
