Kata is a training 'vehicle' to enable the practitioner to 'visualise' and perform principles and technique in solo practice (my interpretation). It follows that it will always be an individual interpretation of movement which may vary from individual to individual. You cannot make 'the fight' fit your training, you have to adapt your training to fit the fight - common sense. On that simple basis all Kata performances should be slightly different to look at, and not like the robotic homogenous nonesense as seen in current Kata competitions.
