Many descendants of enslaved in Savannah come from Igbo in Nigeria or tribes in Sierra Leone, Guinea and The Gambia. The people mentioned were formerly enslaved and the church was an Underground Railroad stop. The rice cultivation, sweet grass basket weaving, traditional food, are just a few of many traditions in that area still being practiced today. My maternal ancestors were sold from South Carolina which is right next door about 40 minutes drive. And yes, the church has Hebrew writing although many tried to debunk it like they always do smh.
