Hey, I found a bug with space sim. If you change resolution while recording, the video file gets corrupted. It happened to me twice, both when I accidentally hit the smaller window button instead of minimize
running on gpu is possible but it is a pain in the ass to get it working because the cpu is smart and does a little bit of math very quickly with no errors and it isn't too hard to talk too BUT the gpu is stupid but can do a shit ton of math as long as you use egyptian hyroglyphics to tell it what to do without mistakes
Hi! just wanted to say ur games amazing, but how do you get it to go this fast as for me it goes to.. well 0000000000000000000000000000000.1 seconds something like that, my frames are perfectly fine but i just wanted to see how you do it.
What parameters did you use mate? Like speed of the mars, relative position according to Earth, like that. I really want to do the same. And by the way, how long did it take to finish the simulation?
@@pavelsevecek it may be broken because in regular simulating without recording you can, but if you’re recording you can’t double click to lock into something
@@pavelsevecek yeah thank you, also another thing with the camera, is that if you’re tracking a smaller object and it collides with a bigger object, your camera gets removed since there isn’t the object anymore, but I’d like it to instead start tracking the bigger object it collided with, so I won’t have to adjust camera stuff mid recording
This is an amazingly detailed and beautiful render! Sorry to be a bother, but how does one increase the number of particles of the Earth and Theia in Spacesim? (I’m starting to play with the program.) What menu is that under? Thanks.
If I had a NASA computer, I would definitely do this many particles. But unfortunately, I only have a crappy laptop so I have to stick to 10k particles 😢

Probably their own program. Wouldn't be able to simulate it anyway@@DAMONKEMANS
@@DAMONKEMANS nasa uses codes and for simulations they optimize the code
@@TimGoTheCreator oh. Your 5 months late btw
@@TimGoTheCreator that was back then when I didn't know that
Awesome, thanks for the upload.
Fantastic!
I never want these videos to end lol It would be so cool to see what happens to the debris field after x amount of time, maybe 2 moons could form!
this is how our actual moon formed, there wouldn't be two
@@Gespnimationsthere used to be two, but then the moon ate its sibling
@@JordaniantrexA second moon could’ve formed, but we have no evidence it ever existed.
The debris field would either fall onto the Moon or fall back to Earth. It definitely would not stay there for very long either.
@@Jordaniantrex 🤨
This is actually really accurate as 2 bodies formed instead of just 1
we dont know for that sure
it would be nice to have a timer acompanying your video to have an idea of the timescale

Ever heard of replay recording?
Dude, i cant play thas game because shows a error with three dont understand name
why didnt you change the texture of earth
I thinks simulation like this can be run on GPU much faster, or it's impossible? Maybe some plans?
Like 2D: "Space Simulation Toolkit" on Steam
I tried to find GPU mode but I couldn't find it. I am sure it will run faster on 4070 Ti than Ryzen 5 CPU.

It takes a while to render. This isnt in real time (Trust me, it takes ages to create these things, ive done it)
@@LonelyFearr i get it now, im currently recording a Simulation and i heard its a timelapse when its done recording
Cool simulations! But where do i find this "spacesim" engine? and is it the same thing as opensph?
Far as I know it’s the link in the description.
@@mechanwhal6590 yes but that is Opensph, its the same thing but with much harder controls and stuff, but thanks anyway
right at the top is spacesim
Nice. What are your pc specs?
What parameters did you use mate? Like speed of the mars, relative position according to Earth, like that. I really want to do the same. And by the way, how long did it take to finish the simulation?
There is a preset for this exact simulation, I only changed the number of particles and camera angles.
Then can you tell me the exact angle??
i try the simulation on my pc but it fail badly
Your pentium 4 can’t run anything at this point
@@Versuffe no I mean my i3-7100U
@@ummhssss that is terrible. I got an i7 9750h and still struggle with >100k sims
maybe cause your trying to simulate space in a 7 year old cpu 😂
@@Versuffe because spacesim runs on gpu and opensph runs purely on cpu even if you have a good cpu it will still go slow if you have a bad gpu

How can I get the camera to rotate around an object when I’m recording?
go to camera in between setup and simulation
