Thanks for making these very informative videos on two part vase constructions. I'm really interested, because it is very like the construction of the clay versions of middle eastern goblet-shaped drum shells, where the flaring part is the base of the shell (Often, the top is thrown right-side-up and then flipped over after it dries to a similar state like your vase bottoms; and then they cut the bottom out and join on the base in a similar manner).

Awesome video, thank you. Im stunned about how high you can throw with that amount of clay. It must be very thin.
    You are a great inspiration.

The first pot I would have cut off 1/3rd of that top! just a matter of preference Matt :)
Great video and thanks for sharing.

That second one you did was `my idea` of the perfect pot Matt. I love skinny necks.

Hi Matt, I really like the two part vases on the large pieces. I have always attempted larger pieces with one amount of clay and it hard to NOT make mistakes when doing that. I'm changing my ways when doing larger tall pieces for now on. eddie.

Yay! I hope this technique gives you as much success as it has for me.
