    Very clear, partly because the explanation does not skip any steps of reasoning. That is particularly helpful when it comes to the explanation of Kepler's third law. Excellent!

    Watched this to better understand Kepler's 3 laws of planetary motion. I was happy to see that I generally understood them without the visuals (yay!), but the visual and explanations made it all the more clear (especially the math calculations.) Thanks for a great video!

    Absolutely amazing for the sake of simplicity itself. Thank you so much for the video. This really helped my understanding of Keplers Law and the good thing is, you just summarize a 1 hour confusing lecture to a 12 minute of clear and understandable video. Thank you once again sir.

    Hi dcaulf, When discussing Kepler's 3rd law, I believe you have the orbital radii for the Earth and Jupiter in units of meters when it should be in kilometers. Although this doesn't change your answer because the units will cancel, but I figured I should let you know. Thanks for the video!

  • @KrisVG1
    @KrisVG1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi! Thx for the video. I have a question about Kepler's first law: isn't it possible that the initial speed of the planets was to high (instead of to low like you illustrate) to make a perfect circle. In that case the orbit is also elliptical.

    Excellent video,It just struck me at 6:40 that the reason we don't feel the acceleration in earth's version of this orbit is,as the earth draws nearer to the sun the Earth's spin is both a product of this acceleration and a counter to it,,,That is to say the extra gravity and motion causes the Earth to spin through centrifrugal force and the spin naturally cushions the surface from inertial differences.
    The sum of gravitational action from all orbiting bodies in the solar system also keep the sun spinning not to mention the complicated interrelated gravitational effects on the perfect clock we call the solar system...Thanks for posting
