Very clear, partly because the explanation does not skip any steps of reasoning. That is particularly helpful when it comes to the explanation of Kepler's third law. Excellent!
Watched this to better understand Kepler's 3 laws of planetary motion. I was happy to see that I generally understood them without the visuals (yay!), but the visual and explanations made it all the more clear (especially the math calculations.) Thanks for a great video!
Wow great job! this video helped me SOOOOOOO much in writing my paper on Kepler's three laws! Very clear and understandable! Thank you really appreciate it
Absolutely amazing for the sake of simplicity itself. Thank you so much for the video. This really helped my understanding of Keplers Law and the good thing is, you just summarize a 1 hour confusing lecture to a 12 minute of clear and understandable video. Thank you once again sir.
Thank you for the clarity. I have a discussion on Kepler's laws and I find it a lot more understandable with the illustrations. thanks for the help again.
Due to unfortunate 3 fractures in my leg I'm not being abe to go to school and our teacher was teaching kepler's laws..I had the notes but didn't quite understand them and coudln't ask my teacher as i couldn't go to school..This video is excellent! Thank You! Liked👍
Like most people in the comments I'm also studying for a test I have tomorrow, though for me it's an aerospace engineering test rather than a physics one. This video explained the three laws really well, my professor tends to jump into the maths before making sure we have a good grasps of the basics of what's going on!
very well explained...i could'nt understand while i was reading from my text book...but now after watching this video i totaly understand...thank u soo much.
Thank you very much dcaulf.Your video expaination helped me alot to properly understand Kepler's 3 laws of Motion.i have one of my National Astronomy Olympiads coming and i needed to understand the topic serioulsy & if I would win I would get a trip to NASA for 10 days.if it would happen so I would credit you for helping me.Thanks again :D
A wonderfully clear and concise explanation. Thank you so much. I am awed by patterns and fractals and stuff like that, so the beauty of the equal areas created by the variable orbit speed has me really humming.
this video was really helpful because it described everything really well and you can understand everything. compared to other videos the are to complicated
Hi dcaulf, When discussing Kepler's 3rd law, I believe you have the orbital radii for the Earth and Jupiter in units of meters when it should be in kilometers. Although this doesn't change your answer because the units will cancel, but I figured I should let you know. Thanks for the video!
Hi! Thx for the video. I have a question about Kepler's first law: isn't it possible that the initial speed of the planets was to high (instead of to low like you illustrate) to make a perfect circle. In that case the orbit is also elliptical.
Excellent video,It just struck me at 6:40 that the reason we don't feel the acceleration in earth's version of this orbit is,as the earth draws nearer to the sun the Earth's spin is both a product of this acceleration and a counter to it,,,That is to say the extra gravity and motion causes the Earth to spin through centrifrugal force and the spin naturally cushions the surface from inertial differences. The sum of gravitational action from all orbiting bodies in the solar system also keep the sun spinning not to mention the complicated interrelated gravitational effects on the perfect clock we call the solar system...Thanks for posting Would like to hear your views, and corrections on this statement.
Studying for a physics test I have tomorrow, thanks for explaining this better than my professor did in half the time.
Agreed
@@danielmuzza5125 I passed that test 5 years ago btw...
Good luck!
P.S: I work full time as a software engineer now at AMD.
@Isac Casas This was 5 years ago, so it was first year University.
@@haloshadowsnipe3014 this makes me kinda depressed

OMG, this was an absolute LIFE SAVER. thank you for your help with the second law. that one literally kept me up at night.
You , Sir , are awesome !!
On the plus side, it is a very helpful video and I have recommended it to all my Astro students. Nice job!
Earl
Wow! Best video on youtube that explains these laws! You really helped me study for my physics test tomorrow!! Thanks! :)
Absolutely brilliant. This video is worth more than a thousand words.
I should have watched this before class, would have saved me a lot of frustration...thanks!!
Thank you for the clarity. I have a discussion on Kepler's laws and I find it a lot more understandable with the illustrations. thanks for the help again.
the best explanation ever!!
Better than my teacher!!
Thanks man, the class I'm in wouldn't shut up so we have to take notes on these laws at home.
very well done explaining, but I did keep getting distracted by the hilarious subscript.:))
Great video, I finally understood Kepler's laws after watching this video. Thx!
Thanks for posting. You broke it down real simple.
The best explanation so far ! Thanks
Just wanted to say thank you for this video.. great info, nice explaination and pacing of the info. Thanks!
1:09 we are looking at an ellipse, most likely Baymax lol!
exactly what I thought!!
hahahaha
WOW! For something that I found difficult to understand this video has made everything simple.
Thanks =D
Fantastic explanation. Studying up for a final, and this made it crystal clear. Really appreciate the work you put in.
You explained this very well. I watched a few others and just didn't get that third one, but you make it so clear. Thanks so much.
This is seriously an amazing video and held me understand Kepler's Laws so much better. Thank you so so so much! :)

very professional. what software did you use to create this?
he stated it in the video. Listen carefully
very good explanation!!! you made it simple to understand!!
Great explanation. Thanks for sharing your vid.
GREAT JOB!! Very clear video! I really appreciate it!
Thanks for this video, we are learning about this in Astronomy;my teacher didn't articulate this very well.
Like most people in the comments I'm also studying for a test I have tomorrow, though for me it's an aerospace engineering test rather than a physics one. Thank you so much for making this video. I learned more in twelve minutes that I have through hours and hours of textbook reading. Bless you! :)
Um, hey, I love your videos! I just thought you should know that... Also, I think this is the best Kepler's Laws video on TH-cam.
Very Simple and Simply Great video
Thx for making this, it was very helpful. (especially the 3rd law)
I understood the first two but the third was kind of confusing. Thanks for the informative video. It's appreciated!

Thank you for a very instructive video. Your animated graphic helps so much. May I ask what software you used?
great explanation! I read it on textbook, wasn't able to understand. But yours is super clear to understand👍
is the semi major axis the same thing as orbital radius?
yes
falconsatl11 Falcons blew a 28-3 lead
Thank you this was extremely helpful and I now understand his 3 laws c:
