    I just installed an x-pipe and happy about it. I wanna be happier and install the cutouts in the future. I'm thinking about using the S button on the transmission to open the valves. I think the cutouts are not being maximized in C mode. Looking to get this done in about 2 weeks.

    Marius, do you remember where you got your cut outs from for your Benz ? What type and how much was it ?

    Hi Marius Dornean ,I want to do the electric cut out but how do you solve the electric wiring problem? How do you go the wire?

    This sounds awesome!!! I want to add the x pipe to my 13 c300 but don't want to loud at the same time so this would prolly be the best solution? Also how much was ur labor to add the x pipe and straight pipe alone? And then the labor for adding the switch n cutout ect? I know it differs from place to place but trying to get a rough figure of what I'm looking at for labor and total cost after I buy all the part? Thanks man sounds awesome!!

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Devin Rock Thanks, I love it too!
      Tthe x-pipe will only make it louder under acceleration, so your best bet to make it a bit louder but quiet most of the time. Keep the resonator in case you ever want to go back to stock and sell the car.
      X-pipe install was $50. I did the switch myself, cutouts were $120 installed

    Did you buy the y pipes and the cut outs. If so where?

  • @Rodpwnzz
    @Rodpwnzz 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you mind me asking which Ebay vendor you bought the cutouts from? I've found a seller with good rating that sells a kit that has the y pipe, the motor, switch and pipe tip for $100.

    I bet the x pipe frees up horsepower that factory resonator is huge

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Overall the car is a snail. It did help a bit, but it wont make a 220hp car a 600hp car :p

      Marius Dornean how much horsepower and torque did you gain? and how much was it if you don't mind me asking

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      eigdf $300 tune. HP/tq - dunno exact numbers. these engines are just slow as hell and I'd be surprised if I got 20 hp more. the biggest difference is the transmission reacts faster. the stock tune drove me nuts with the delay in downshifting

    That is a great video! Love it ! Just want to ask where did you go to do these installations? What kind of shop? If I just change the exhaust tip and and add the electronic exhaust cutout, will that makes the sound louder when I open the cutout?

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any muffler shop. You don't need to change the exhaust tip, just the cutouts, for more sound.

    Hey, sounds great, do you happen to know if that x pipe size will fit in a 2013 c300 sport? I know they changed my year motor to a factory de-tuned c-350 motor... Wasn't sure that same size x pipe will fit or if you happen to know offhand? Also if I was to do the x pipe and muffler delete what other pieces would I need in order to do that? I am planning on getting either the renntech or kleeman ecu flash and from talking to them because of being a de-tuned c350 motor for the 1100$ it will bring the 13 model c300 up to 315hp

  • @quiltedsquire1271
    @quiltedsquire1271 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had a thought, why wouldn't you just eliminate the resonator and instead of using the X pipe run 2 straight pipes in place so you have true duals, what are your thoughts on that?

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The x-pipe reverberates the two engine banks causing a nicer tone, straight pipes, h-pipes, and x-pipes all have distinct tones.

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** X pipes provide more higher RPM HP at the cost of lower torque while h pipe does the inverse, both relative to straight pipes.

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** the 'nicer' tone is my opinion only, some people prefer the 'pulse' of a true dual, other love the 'thunder' of an H, I just like the 'roar' of an X pipe more.

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** You can hear the 'pulse' I was talking about here: th-cam.com/video/BblQFQtNWJs/w-d-xo.html while you can hear the 'roar' of mine with x-pipe here: th-cam.com/video/6TCdvN5-eso/w-d-xo.htmlm48s
      I know it's hard to tell in both vids, but trust me it's something you can notice.

    Nice ride man, love the sound. Have you found any performance items other than exhaust mods? I have an '09 C300 in white and would like to do the exhaust plus some other mods, but it's pretty hard to find stuff for these cars, outside of total custom one offs.... or maybe I'm just not looking in the right spots...lol.

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thxs, Very few aftermarket performance mods exist for these cars because the consumers who buy them just don't care (and the C63 is available for those who do). The only performance mods I've made are K&N air filters, and an ECU tune. The car is dead slow and the mods didn't make much of a difference in power but the tune did remove a lot of the throttle lag, so I definitely recommend it. They also have Kleemann headers (on Ebay you can find the cheap Chinese knockoffs by OBX for under $400) but I don't recommend spending too much on this model as most people agree it can't even reach C350 levels at best.

    • @robertcopeland962
      @robertcopeland962 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Where did you find your ECU tune? The ones I found are gas saver tunes and honestly, they didn't seem too legit. I'm real interested in getting rid of that throttle lag.

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ECU tune added about 5 -10hp (I can tell since now I can chirp tires whereas before I couldn't), and about 65% of the lag is gone. Car responds more quickly, downshifts faster, and keeps the gear longer when playing around. I got mine from oetuning.com/ I live in SoCal and they are located in HB, close to where I work. Their tune is legit and I can vouch for it. The next best option is going with Kleemann as it's a better tune from what I hear, but you go for $400 to $1700 for a tune, not worth it for a few more HP, at least for me.

    • @robertcopeland962
      @robertcopeland962 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That makes perfect sense... no point in spending that kind of money for the little gains. Thanks for the info sir, I appreciate it.

    Hey, bro please respond! i was thinking of doing cutouts on my c250, however i was wondering if you smell gas when you open the cutouts and your windows are open, as opposed to cutouts closed, especially at red lights. please let me know as this is the only thing holding me back from making the move!

    • @LoudFiat

      The shop said putting them up front was not recommended due to clearance and heat.

  • @markminish
    @markminish 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was wondering if I should put my cutouts before the cats? Or after the cats and before the resonator? Or should I take out my cats and put the cutouts before the resonator? How much louder would it be if the cutouts are before the cats? or after the cats if I remove them?

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Before the forward cats would be problematic due to limited space and potential heat issue (exhaust coming right up under the tranny). I think it would definitely make it louder, but moving the oxygen sensor and cats may not be worth the extra work.

    • @markminish
      @markminish 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Marius Dornean Thanks I think I will put my cutouts after the o2 sensors witch are after the cats. It should not throw codes if the cut outs are after the cats. I hope it sounds good! Thanks for the advice!

  • @roubyroubz8916
    @roubyroubz8916 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    did doing this cause your dashboard lights to come on, i noticed in the video you had an airbag / temperature and low beam lights on, or was that caused by something else. I am hesitant to let some mom and pop shop weld on my car

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  9 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @bryanttrahan1852
    @bryanttrahan1852 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    hey man you think there is difference if put xpipe closer to cats instead?

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, you'll have a hell of a time figuring out how to get the pipes to reach the side skirts given lack of clearance. The closer you are to the engine, the hotter the exhaust. You would not want just downpipes right under the cabin if you are close to the cats - you'd probably start a fire!
      I explored the option with my techs as well; given the clearance it just wasn't practical. Let me know if you go that route and figure it out.

    • @bryanttrahan1852
      @bryanttrahan1852 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      what you mean? i meant im removing my resonator like you but ive seen some xpipes after cats rather than back by mufflers like you. im not doing cutouts just resonator delete with xpipes and most told me to put it after cats for performance but towards mufflers for loudness

    • @LoudFiat
      @LoudFiat  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought you meant the cutouts; either way the cats are in the front of the car. This car is slow as shit, even with a tune and the x-pipe, I doubt you'll feel a difference. All of this is really for better sound, if you want performance get a car made for power, not a dog like the C class (unless you're talking the C63).

    • @bryanttrahan1852
      @bryanttrahan1852 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      so you think there is a sound difference if i put xpipe where you put yours compared to putting it behind cats? or no difference

    • @LoudFiat
