Didn't they said in some patch notes that QDs were going to be reset to a base value for all, so they can work on balancing for 4.0? Or am I confusing this with another component?
They said it's about balancing for once pyro is in. Smaller ships wouldn't be able to make long hauls but their qt over short distances would be faster with faster cooldowns. The large ships would be capable of long hauling and over longer distances in general they would be faster than smaller ships with faster cooldowns. From what I gather, smaller ships will need to be docked with larger ships to make the super long distances possible. The old way with the stats the way they had them gave smaller ships a bit too much freedom to jump from planet to planet and didn't make Stanton and especially pyro seem big enough. They want pyro to seem HUGE and for the majority of us to stick around our home worlds more. This could all be because of the vision they have for the realism of the game or it could be an effective way of keeping large amounts of players spread out, maybe the meshing tech works but doesn't have much bandwidth to support thousands of people jumping from shard to shard? Just my guesses their.
Good to know, but that creates an issue maybe down the line, if larger ships can’t be run from solo player and smaller ones can’t travel too far, that would create an issue for solo players being stuck in one area. They would defo have to team up or use the kindness of the people unless they bring in travel from area to area on the star ships advertised in some of the space station, the cruise liner thing
@@NoobsGamingSCYou can fly multicrew ships solo. Engineering won't FORCE you to multicrew. It'll just make multicrew that much more powerful. You don't HAVE to do repairs yourself. You can still use repaur services just like now - if you have access to them.
This is a POV that I agree with. There was NO reason to change QD spec's. If they wanted to rebalance the drives then they should create new QD drives to match the new system requirements THEY made. I bought components to achieve certain goals: take my Aurora from one side of the Stanton system to the other on one tank of quantum fuel. I made the compromise of fuel efficiency for distance vs. speed. CIG made a drive that met my specifications, and I bought it, based on those spec's. Now, just with an edict, CIG says now the distance you can travel is artificially limited, where it wasn't before. This breaks immersion. They could've done a rebalance with making new drives for Pyro, or increasing the price of quantum fuel. That makes sense.
No, they did not kill quantum drives. They've made it clear on multiple occasions that the system is not fully operational yet, because it needs engineering to work Fully.
That is exactly what they're doing, because they have already stated that once it's fully operational, quantum drives will heavily be balanced off of distance travel. Smaller quantum drives will be four planet to moon traveling.. Where larger quantum drives will have different fuel rates and times because they're more designed for cross system and system to system traveling.
It’s probably a temporary thing for some sort of testing. Just like how all the ship guns had the same stats for the longest time. Maybe they’re planning N a big rebalance of them for Pyro?
"Destroyed" and "Killed Off" lol... rather dramatic, isn't it? We all know these minor changes between patches are temptory and the most obvious and likely reason for doing so is to work on them. We've seen this before and will continue to see it again until everything is settled and finalised. Yes, it would be nice to know exactly why from CIG for transparency, but I think we can be sure that this isn't a permenant decision, lol.
Crafting is meant to impact these stats depending on the quality of the raw materials used. i.e. copper might change the quality of x and iron quality y. there were then meant to be tiers kinda like the common, rare, legendary levels. perhaps the short term makes no sense to tweak when this will change for 1.0?
Yeah, this makes no sense. The stats were already unique, why would they change back to all the same, like we had for the last few years. I thought we were finally back to pre 2020 days when we had unique component stats.
If you remember the Basel ne reset from back then, how doesn't this make sense to you now? It's literally just the same thing but for QT, and it makes PERFECT sense because they're now adding a second, larger star system - and introducing Resource Management. Of course they'd need to rebalance now. 🤷🏿♂️
Basel ne reset? I am sure that must be a autocorrect issue? They had all same stats for many years and used the pyro testing to rebalance everything to accommodate pyro stats. Are you saying that all that time when all stats were equalized they did not actually work on rebalancing like they had stated?
They changed it in 3.23.2, and if I’m not mistaken they said that this is a place holder has they work out the new QT drives and how they will work with the new system. I also think they will remove Jump Drives from the smaller ships.
It's just that you missed the official information before, friend. That said, they just published information about this again today on the website. Tbf tho, some meta announcements should eventually be available in the game for folks who AREN'T following every bit if dev comms online.
My thought was the same, I don’t often go in spectrum or forums, I generally jump in game and play, I presume there are many others too that do the same
@@NoobsGamingSC Yeah, even as an Evo, I spend more time following the development than actually playing, but I remind folks all the time that the majority of players are just playing or taking a break. People get the wrong impression that EVERYONE is yapping on Spectrum and Reddit.
Coolers are for redundancy. ATM you only alway run stealth setup atm. you can lower down yout signature of the starlancer to under 7k if you face an enemy. I always turn off one cooler manually. regarding the speed of the QTs - they normalized them oneor two patches ago, to test and balance the fuel prices. That will change again. But: The bigger the drive the faster the travel.
Taking the Starlancer as an example is so wildly out of tune when it comes stock with a near perfect kit. It'll get a stock component nerf for sure. Most ships don't come with any A rated components, much less two of the best.
Didn't they said in some patch notes that QDs were going to be reset to a base value for all, so they can work on balancing for 4.0? Or am I confusing this with another component?
Im not sure, its been a while since i took a lot of interest in components
Yes, they did. That's exactly what they said. Currently, everything is streamlined until 4.0

I agree, One of the reasons I championed the C1 was its stock drive

they could reduce the fuel tanks of ships not made for long trips rather than doing what they did now.
I agree
Is this drawing a level playing field before they start the balancing for 4.0?
Could be, but I don’t think it was a cha fe that was needed, one of the best things about some ships was the stock q-drive like the C1 and the cat

All these stats need to be reworked for the new system. I doubt they will stay like this forever.
Hopefully
Maybe its preparation to make us search for valuable components with good values which you only will obtain from special places ;-D

Some ships like the cat and the C1 were great because of that stock drive

Nah, small ships are intended to have jump drives. It's SNUB ships that aren't.
@ that’s crazy. A small fighter can’t QT across Stanton but they can Jump between systems? COG should really rethink this.
There doing the same as they did with shields there reworking them for pyro this is click bait

Yeah, I don't need both coolers powered simultaneously.

I think they were grad c or b, I don’t think it had any A’s
In the voice of Nancy Karigen
" Whyyyy!!!!"
Probably not killed, just being worked on.
Because of balancing, i personely dont belive the new Quantum works like the old one. So they need to rebalance them.
Erkul stats are wildly out of date
ERKUL stats come directly from the game files.
It’s been a while since I was on but they have updated them to show the power usage in points
Surely this isn’t the case? Horrible if so. Hopefully it’s temporary, this would be an appalling change.
It's not a very informative video. You could have jumped on Spectrum and had the answer in seconds.
It wasn’t meant to be informative, it was a discussion point about what people thought.
