I mean, is it even a question? Survival maps are very easy to make and increase the amount of content for players tenfold. Imagine if we had survival maps for every BO2 map, Cell Block, Golden Gate Bridge, WW2 Trenches, Crazy Place, Buddha Room, Rooftops, The Maze, Buried Town. That alone is SO many new maps added into a game with very little effort and the same could be done for practically all zombies map since BO2. They help streamline the gameplay and offer a simple "Plug and play" experience for people who just want to jump into a game and play, rather than going through a setup while also keeping the bigger maps as the main, real experience for players to truly sink their teeth into.
These are the only maps I care about tbh. I hate having to watch a guide then go on a scavenger hunt just get setup. The most complicated I want a map to get is power and linking teleporters for pap.
Survival maps are crucial for ensuring anyone can enjoy zombies. Not everyone (including me) likes having to do half the “easter egg” (are they even easter eggs anymore?) to get set up.
I agree, and I’m really glad that they made basic setup more simple again in Cold War. Bo3 had a nice mix of easier setup and harder setup, but most of bo4 is just too much for most people.
Well I think they could have done the same in BO3 but decided against it so people had even more interest in purchasing Zombies Chronicles which had more World at War maps. Even The Giant was exclusive.
It’s honestly not too bad. The worst part is just the lack of storage space to export the videos. Smaller videos like this one are fine for the most part, but there’s just no way that I’d be able to make some of the bigger videos that I have planned on this thing.
@@Tactic_Zombies storage was definitely the part I was curious about. With no SD Card support, I know voice overs can take up a bunch of space, let alone gameplay.
Yeah, I pretty much will have enough space on my phone to make one (maybe 2 videos) at any given time. Once I get a video uploaded, I back it up to a little usb / lightning flash drive and then delete it off of my phone to make space for the next one.
It is absolutely insane that you make these videos on an iPhone. You're a beast, your videos rock, I can't wait to see what you pull off with a tech upgrade!
I would rather play any of the more basic maps like Kino, Ascension, Shi No Numa, Der Riese, Moon etc. than some of the newer maps from BO3-Vanguard. I wish they made more of them, even if they’re just re-used assets from Multiplayer or COD, just as extra content.
You can’t play survival on diner, since you can only play turned on it. You can’t play survival on buried either, since that’s exclusively turned and Grief, which I don’t think counts since you can’t play buried’s map solo. Same goes for Mob of the Dead’s grief map.
Nuketown Zombies is the proof that the survival map concept works. It remains one of my favourite maps to this day, I love Moon as well and the broken earth storyline was underutilised and I wish it got more maps in zombies
The survival maps are some of my favourites. Especially Nuketown Zombies, I truly believe that if you were to play that map over and over and over again, that is the best way to improve skill due to the RNG of the perks and pack a punch
@@Tactic_Zombies No need, it was a pleasure! As a Yakuza fan I enjoyed some of your other content as well. But I'll click your future BO1 vids as soon as I see them appear! Cheers for putting the time and care you have into these.
I personally would love at least 1 srvival map, as for me i only ever played transit/town on blops 2 and still to this day i do love just tryna get a high round on town. also hope they make zombies slightly harder than Cold War bcos for me half of the fun in zombies is the whole overall challenge of trying to either reach a high round/build a wonder weapon or complete an Easter egg/storyline. just my thoughts tho, great video bro and like everyone else was shocked that u made this on an iPhone, rly impressive, u got my sub, cant wait for the next video
It was honestly a let down that the DLC maps didn’t have survival modes that trimmed down the map and completely eliminated any DLC requirements. The issue is it’s reliant on a very specific design: separate areas that hold up on their own. This was nearly abandoned as BO2 went on. Increasingly claustrophobic areas that force walking through entire areas of the map instead of a couple of rooms. With the change in Zombie mechanics going into BO3 on top of movement changes, I’m really not surprised it was abandoned. Repurposing multiplayer maps in Cold War was the equivalent to this in terms of padding content, but it’s certainly not the same as playing a purpose made map.
I really hope that we see a return of survival maps and we kind of saw them return with onslaught (i think it was called?). Sometimes you just want a simple experience instead of having to deal with a lot of quests, some of my most played maps are the giant, shi no numa and town and that's for a reason Btw, it's great that you dedicated some time to non-Treyarch zombies modes, i feel like most creators and hardcore fans don't like them just because they're not made by Treyarch
Yeah, I feel like all of the non-Treyarch zombies gets slept on by the community, which is unfortunate. I think that WW2 and IW are both really fun, the only non-Treyarch zombies mode that I think is downright bad is exo-zombies. I completely forgot about onslaught though, so maybe I’ll have to do a separate video on that, since there are couple of versions of the game mode in Cold War.
@@Tactic_Zombies I had a lot of fun with exo zombies, i remember playing 1h+ long matches with randoms (mainly on outbreak) seeing how long we could survive, of course back when then i was younger and not really invested into the game but it's some of the most fun i've had with zombies as a whole
Yeah, outbreak and descent are the only two maps on exo zombies that I actually like. I know a lot of people like carrier but I really don’t enjoy playing it or infection. My biggest problem is that every map past outbreak has objective rounds every couple of rounds, and the punishment for ignoring them is so severe that you pretty much have to get interrupted and go do them. At least on descent there’s only the two boss fights and other than that the map plays normally.
Survival maps as long as they are just smaller parts of an already existing map have literally no reason not be added imo. They take such little time relative to actual maps because all the assets already exist. It just needs to have the tweaks to make it work as a map on its own.
That’s sort of what onslaught was in Cold War, right? I’m not too familiar with the mode myself, though, I’ve barely played it since it was PlayStation exclusive back when Cold War was the new game
I'd actually be interested to know what your creative process is making these on an iphone, like, do you do any scripting? How do you capture and transfer the footage? What do you use to edit? And is the Files app terrible? (the answer is yes)
1. Yes, I do full scripts in the notes app for every video that I do (except gameplay videos with my friends but I haven’t made one of those in quite a while). 2. For short clips I use the built in clip recorder on the Xbox, and then can download the clips onto my phone through the Xbox app. For b roll footage I use the Xbox’s built in streaming to stream to twitch for like 20 minutes or so of gameplay, and then I save the streams to my phone through the twitch app. 3. For editing, I just use CapCut. It isn’t perfect, but I find that it has the best blend of ease-of-use and actual ability to make good videos out of all of the video editing apps I’ve tried on iOS. 4. The files app is actually great! (No it isn’t)
Are you sure the M27 only appears in nuketown zombies? I swear I had it in other zombie maps lol but it's been probably 10 years since I played BO2 so I'm probably just crazy lol.
Well when the developers implement complex objectives that are composed of multiple steps outside of killing zombies then the survival aspect of that map is pushed to the side meanwhile survival maps focus on just that; surviving. No Easter egg or greater purpose to the map. Just run and gun. So therefore the term survival map make sense
