I was 25 years old when this song came out. I loved it back then and I still love it today. It was an iconic band because their sound was so unique for the era and it blew us all away. Great vocals, instumentation, message, beat. Enjoyed your reaction. Billy Boy
Tom Scholz wrote, recorded and produced Peace of Mind in his basement studio. All guitars and bass are played by Tom. Brad Delp does ALL lead and harmony vocals. Sib Hasian on drums.
The first album was recorded almost entirely by founder/guitarist Tom Scholz in his own basement studio. Brad Delp(RIP) was brought in as the original vocalist. He was an MIT-trained engineer and he invented a lot of his own equipment. The guy is a genius. He assembled the band so he could tour in support of the album.
Great reaction Alex. You started a very cool journey with Boston. My favorite songs are: "More Than A Feeling", "Smokin", "Rock and Roll Band" and "Foreplay/Long Time".
Boston's debut album (Boston, released in 1976) had every track on it made airplay on all 3 Rock Station in Detroit. Sib Hashian is the drummer, sadly he passed away of a heart attack while playing drums in the middle of a set on a cruise ship on March 22, 2017. Brad Delp is the lead singer and he suffered from depression which sadly led him to take his life on March 9, 2007. R.I.P. Sib & Brad...
"A Man I'll Never Be" off their 2nd album "Don't Look Back" is my favorite song of theirs, but every song on their debut album was a hit including "Hitch A Ride" and "Foreplay/Long Time". I must have listened to it over a thousand times. Tom Scholz (MIT graduate with also an MBA) is the guitar player; and bass, organ, acoustic, etc. except the drums. He also built his basement recording studio and created electronics to produce all the effects that are PLAYED on a guitar (check out a concert where he uses tools and his effects to play the sound effects you here). Brad Delp performed ALL the vocal parts on the songs. Before hitting it big, Tom worked for Polaroid NOT climbing the company ladder.
EVERY song on this album was a huge hit, back in the day. Did you notice the album cover art is an upside down guitar?? Little feedback for you-- the music volume was a bit low, I had to strain to hear it. Your own vocals could be a bit louder, too. Great reaction, aside from the technical issues.
Loved your reaction!! Foreplay/Longtime or More Than A Feeling are both amazing songs but really any song off their first 2 albums are 🔥
It is they whole album is fire
Brilliant. “More than a feeling” is one of the greatest vocals ever.
Nice review - you pointed out all of the right riffs and sounds....good job. This is a perfect song.
The WHOLE ALBUM ROCKS!! And it’s their debut 🤯
Best band of sll tome my vote
More than a feeling Is my favorite song from Boston

The band members were tech smart and used that knowledge to produce great balance in thier music. What a band !!!
"Rock and Roll Band" it tells the story of how they began as a band. Excellent song, you can't not like it.
Love me some Boston! I'm glad you have found them. You should react to just about any song from Van Halen's 5150 album.
