When I was in school we had a band of really good musicians. One day, I heard them sing this song.
The lead singer was a classmate of mine and he sang so well that day. That lazy afternoon, the whole band was like suspended sunshine, honey to the ears.
He had a beautiful, soaring voice, easily carrying the tune, the feel of the song. It was the first time I noticed his voice. Ever since I would happily wait for the songs at the end of programs, for the school musicians to perform. And every time, their music was the highlight of my day.
He was like the talented brother you root for. The only link that we shared was being in the same school for eleven years. But he's no more today. Lost the fight to a brain tumour.
I wasn't a close friend or anything, but I wished him well whenever I heard him sing, he truly had a gift.
Gone at the age of seventeen. Mortal remains to be viewed in the very church he sang in multiple times.
I wanted to pay my respects somehow, and it's not much but at least this one memory of him will live now through anyone who reads this.
One lesson I did learn was that people touch your lives with memory in the strangest of ways, leaving themselves behind long after they're gone.

everyone is telling about their love life ,how they gave upon the most beautiful thing that ever occurred to them or sharing about the hardship of life...and here I am a 14 year old girl totally over whelmed by the powerful waves of anxiety ,depression , uncountable painful traumas , teen problems , other age groups marking you out as "the brutal ones ", people hating you because of your looks , getting bullied by others , your insecurities being pointed out by the ones you had faith the most , left to deal with these totally alone but still forced to smile for the sake of your parents and not letting others know how deeply their words are affecting your life like a slow poison ,my parents don't know about any of these …but yeah they somehow always notice and points out why my music taste is so different from people of my age … I simply just smile and say …maybe they haven't found the true definition of music till now … I request every person to never point out someone's insecurities or anything that could possibly hurt them and who knows those might be the last words you ever said to them …
