11,304 artistes perform Bihu dance to create Guinness World Record

- Assam created history by recording the “largest Bihu dance performed in a single venue” on April 13. A total of 11,304 artistes, including Bihu dancers (Nasoni) and Dhol players (Dhuliya), performed at the event that took place at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium in Guwahati at about 6 pm.
The record attempt was inspected by the official adjudicator of Guinness World Records Rishi Nath. The previous record was set in 2019 at the Sonaram High School Ground with 500 Nasonis and 100 Dhuliyas.

Bihu beats are 90% similar to himachali traditional beats .. I don't know the connection...when both states are distant apart
let me tell you why. The kalita community migrated from Uttarakhand,Himachal(kullu district) Odisa to Assam during the rule of Dharmapal (10 th century)
Kalita’s are the first Aryan community who entered northeast.
That’s why there are so many similarities in himachal and Assam's culture..

They brought kamrupi prakrit which in turn evolved into Assamese language
@@Anonymous4150 Bihu has no connections with Kalitas. Bihu was invented by the tribes. It mainly belongs to the Ahoms, Chutias, etc tribes. And Bihu dress was literally made from the Tai Ahom dress. And Bihu was First only celebrated in Upper Assam by the tribal peoples later it got spread to lower Assam and they started celebrating it. And don't spread misinformations. Ya'll should've worn saree if ya'll didn't come to Assam and adapted our culture. For example look at the male dress of Bihu dance. Its the same as Chaolung Sukapha's dress and looks Chinese for a reason. The female dress is the same too, it is a two-piece dress for a reason.
