My interpretation is that it was less because of the results of the case, and more because of Grossberg. He sold the info about the police turning to a medium to White, who then sold it to the press. The fact that the police not only used a medium but then lost the case made them a laughing stock to the public, and Misty ended up getting thrown under the bus and declared a fraud because the public didn't really care what the case was about.

honestly this is the funniest case i've seen so far spoilers: just like- cross examining a fucking parrot then using a metal detector on a man who has had a bullet in his shoulder for FIFTEEN YEARS (normally impossible by human terms but i guess von karma is built different)
I mean having a bullet inside your body for years isn't that farfetched. Long as it didn't fragment or hit any vital points, then it can stay inside the body. Of course it's incredibly stupid on his part keeping evidence lodged inside him: But there's some basis of reality to that. And a bird in life was actually used as a witness for a murder trial.
Shen is the first person I've seen play through Phoenix Wright that DOESN'T read the evidence. It's like watching a game of Marco Polo, but the tagger walks away from every other voice.
Until recently I thought this whole thing was extremely convoluted (which it is) but I just realized that the only way Phoenix could get Edgeworth innocent of the Hammond murder was by linking it to DL-6 causing Edgeworth to confess out of guilt.
It's so cute to see the Judge taking control of his courtroom. He'd been given quite the bullying by Karma, but he's always good about letting Phoenix get his chance, even if he takes a while to come around.
The part in the evidence room got me so angry when I first played the game. I kept trying to figure out what the game wanted me to do (as I had talked to everyone and explored everything), and then I sort of went "wait...no way. There's no way it wants me to show a possible killer that we have evidence which can implicate him!" I messed around for about five minutes before I realized that in order to progress, I absolutely HAD to present the damning evidence to someone who was (in the very least) involved with conspiracy murder. I believe I then spent the next few minutes actually shouting at the game, and Phoenix, for being so stupid (and for Phoenix not learning his lesson on what happened the LAST time he tried to present evidence to the guilty party).
What makes that part even more infuriating, is the fact that Phoenix is so fucking braindead that he showed evidence implicating Redd White, got framed for a murder, and barely survived the trial only because he had a ghost friend. Then, the braindead attorney goes to Dee Vasquez with possible evidence that may implicate her in Jack Power's murder and almost gets KILLED if it wasn't for Gumshoe being right there. And then fucker goes again, Maya tells him to run, Maya gets tazed, and he still sits his ass down and gets tazed by Manfred von Karma. ( Phoenix also boasted in Turnabout Samurai I think, how you should never show your hand to the enemy party in court, making those three incidents even dumber than they already are )
Redd White, Dee Vasquez, and Von Karma. Phoenix confronted each of them with his evidence that they were involved with the murder, with no back up, without telling anyone else what he'd found, and with the evidence at hand rather then safely stored somewhere... It's like he just expects criminals to simply surrender and give up when confronted like this, and while Phoenix is depicted as being extremely optimistic/naive about things... you'd think he'd have learned by now...

It goes so far that Von Karma, not to look insane himself, said and suggested to Phoenix that he maybe needs to interrogate the parrot EXPECTING that Phoenix would try to do something like that, and fucker went to re-train Polly JUST SO SHE DOESN'T SPEAK about DL-6. What Von Karma didn't expected tho was the judge saying that Polly being Yoni's fiannce's name, and 12/28 matching the date of case expiration would is coincidental enough to be considered as a evidence. Moral of story, never prompt Spiky Hellnut that wants to protect his boyfriend with absurd methods. He will do them, and somehow bullshit his way through it
(2:24:20) I always thought this was the weirdest thing. Edgeworth was a CHILD at the time of the DL-6. How are you gonna call someone to trail and call them guilty for that? xD Especially with the way it happened.
well it would be a stain on his reputation and he is an adult NOW. Even if he wasnt imprisoned for it it would lead to social stigma (because japan), much like how Yanni Yogi was affected.

Historians say they were the best of friends
Omg I can't wait to see her reaction to Gant and his theme next stream
Shen comenting on the gay of this game is the best thing xD cannot wait to see her reaction to the next games, it's been a blast to watch these.
nothing about these games is gay, if you think so then smth is wrong with u
@@redfox-ss8pq You might've missed the part where the developers started indulging the fans with gay fanservice and the fact that the character designer (and a big influence on how the characters have turned out) is a BL-manga artist who also ships the main leads in AA

Hope your day is better now :(
2:00:34 People, we have gone so far as to ASK A PARROT FOR A F##### TESTIMONY!
Just wait until he cross-examines an orca. :)
And guess what? It's actually not that farfetched to reality: Because there was a parrot used as a witness in a murder trial
No, that isn't the best thing here.
"the murderer and Hammond" and "Edgeworth and Hammond" are pretty much the same thing from Von Karma's POV.
god, Shens reaction throughout this stream is everything to me
especially this one 1:00:45
The gun was fired 3 times, twice on the night, and once the next day for the ballistics test.
Nevermind. Evidently the ballistics test isn't included in the 3 times fired
Lana is mia’s edgeworth
Ooh, case 5, a long one. Added in this version of the game. They had fun with it, obviously.
"But why did you go to the boat shack mr grossberg! - Rt game
Sorry
Him getting hung on that for so long was so funny
I fucking hate how every time there is something suspicious and criminal done by karma and the producer, it’s always just brushed off.

Leaving this for myself. No heterosexual explanation is right, Shen.
Most of this stream is just shenpai going crazy over to guys that might have a thing for each other and I am here for all of it.
Honestly if you did end up making a dating sim id probably love it, you have such an infectious personality and unique art & writing style!
The final case in Ace Attorney is prob my favorite! Ema is my favorite of the assistants in the original trilogy
insanity take but whatever
32:18 They should care because sequence of events is important to figure out what happened and where. If the time of the gunshots align with what Larry heard on the radio, then his testimony will be accepted as truth. That's what matters most

for some reason i thought you being all meta saying there is no fifth episode *of this playthrough* and got very confused lmfao

To hopefully stem the spread of misinformation, the chat message that said the USA is banning the gays is referring to a bill/law in Florida specifically. As far as I know, no similar bill/law is being put into effect in other states.
That clears up a lot of stuff! Why does Florida hate gays tho?
@@anonymousnlonely3315 I have no idea. I live in California, and or laws and political climate are different from that of other states, so I don't really have any more information than that. It could be that a majority of those in power in Florida are homophobic, but since I don't live there, I can't say.
*sigh* always florida...
Didnt one of the supreme court guys say he wanted to review gay marriage and contraceptives after roe v wade?
@@guillermostreiger2307 Yes, he did. Noticeably, not interracial marriage, despite that ruling being made on the same grounds as the ones he wants to repeal. I’m assuming because he is in fact in an interracial marriage.

Just what I Needed!
I love how they just gloss over Karma committing murder without a guilty verdict, even with evidence.
Even if Edgeworth was found guilty in the DL-6 incident, what were they gonna do? Jail him?? For accidentally killing his father back when he was like 9??? I don't know how the legal system works but I doubt he would've gotten a harsh punishment if he was found guilty back then? Like just give him a therapist oh my god... I doubt they would've been allowed to give him a bigger punishment than they would've given to a 9 year old child who just lost his father. Then again this is Ace Attorney and the legal system here is a joke so it's entirely possible he would've gotten like, 15 years in prison for this "crime" lmao
OBGIETCTION THE TESTIMONY IS BLACK
17:43 Even if Nick can't show proof, I don't think Von Karma can either. So, unless someone can show solid proof, the caretaker's word is meaningless
Me: "look, there is nothing gay about wanting to reunite with an old bestfriend you knew all the way back from gradeschool. there is absolutely no evidence to support these clai-"
Shen: "OBJECTION!"
