Don't feel too bad - like every one of my backpacking trips, there was SOMETHING that went wrong; it's a learning opportunity. 😉 You DID have bear spray and a book! 😊 Note: there's a Brown's Outdoor store in Port Angeles, WA, where you might find some cheap gear. Even a Walmart Ozark Trails tent would be better than nothing. Good luck to you! (Beautiful landscape, BTW)
One of your most exciting videos ever! I felt like I was going too! Lol. Fantastic and so inspiring. Thank you for sharing again Emma. You're the best!
Good morning Emma, consider this a learning experience and not a fail ... at or near the end of the summer tents should be on sale and try this experience again 😊
One of the best videos seen in a long time, young Lady! We commend you for your courage, every adventure starts with the first step. Remember adversity makes you stronger, more mentally and physically prepared for the rest of your life.
twilight! thriftstar in port angeles also has some random camping gear if your still around the area and more affordable. i'm on the quimper peninsula (east of pa) if you'd like a backpacking stove for next time. glad you tried and had a bit of fun. love the music. stay safe.
My first overnight trip I used a duffel bag to carry my sleeping bag, 2 space blankets, bag of oranges and a canteen. Thanks for the great video. I saw no failure, you gained experience for next time.
I can’t believe you left Bus Bus alone and scared all night! 😱 It could have been worse, the ocean might have visited you in the wee hours before dawn. Don’t give up. One of our best tents was a painters tarp A-framed over a fallen tree, we were in college. Families mocked our dirt bagging it until 8 inches of snow unexpectedly passed through, Mountains, you gotta love them! The next morning we were high and dry and the “Expensive” gear all collapsed and those that mocked us were cold, wet, and miserable. We offered to hike out with them as a group due to the new snowfall, but they missed our departure time and who knows whatever happened to them. Don’t give up, sleep above the high tide line, and maybe invest in a rain-fly.
You are such a Brave Human! Thanks for taking us on this ocean front over night journey. Id call it a win. Really felt like being there!! Great filming and audio
You did it! Don’t sell yourself short just because you packed up early. The day light was present when you left so it’s safe to say this was a win! I admire the fact you cowboy camped, I would be a bit nervous to camp like that. I’ve heard good things about the Naturehike cloud up 2 person tent. You could probably go with the one person as it’s just yourself though! My dog would smother me if I went with the one person lol. The tent is only $109 so cost wise not too bad in the realm of tents. From the video reviews I’ve watched, it’s a great balance between quality and affordability. It’s not too heavy either! It’s the tent I plan to go with once I’ve built up the grit to backpack. My heart wants to so bad, but my brain is getting caught up on the risks. As a child I used to run away and go live in the forest for days, with minimal supplies. So I know that I can do it and nothing tried to eat me when I camped then 😂 This video motivates me to push myself outside of my comfort range like you did. If you can camp out on the beach alone in bear country, my dog and I can do it in big kitty country lol
What I enjoy about your channel is that you show real life which is not always perfect. You are souch braver than me. I am scared of a bear in my minivan when I camp on a forest road. Let alone sleeping without a tent!
I was in Seattle a couple years ago, but I did not get to enjoy the scenery nor camping or hiking. Enjoy your videos keep going rocking and rolling and winning.
It was an adventure! Last time I went camping, I had a cheapo tent and a way too big blow up double decker mattress.. the last night it got down to 28 degrees and I rolled off the mattress and was kinda stuck between the tent wall and side of the mattress... I still look back and laugh about it.. it was an adventure... You are right about the high end good backpacking equipment, but depending on how far you plan on hiking you can get away with cheaper Walmart stuff at least at first to make sure you like it.
You embarked on this new adventure 'Scentless' not 'Senseless'...lol 😄 that's a pass....that was enough water in the sand to think the Tide pushed in...but it pushed up near the Log....it was good thinking to use the logs. Try again. ❤
Bravo Emma! You tried something and you did it! There is no rule how long you must stay asleep- just ask any USMC basic training graduate! If you want to try it again, I'm sure you have learned what equipment you still need to enjoy it more! Can you access your donations while you are on the road? I don't know squat about how the finance thing works, so let us know.
the first time I slept in my car it was in my driveway and it was 18 degrees and I had a panic attack before promptly giving up to sleep in my nice warm bed lol
✌🏼,Oh Emma this video must have been one of the hardest video to make. Especially with the wet sand and carrying everything and going back to get your camera after recording. Wish you better days. You captured the beauty of the sky⛅️and the🌊seashore with the mountains ⛰️ in the water or whatever you call them 😁:) ❤✌🏼🙏🏼
Forget about bears! Just watch out for the Vampires and Wolves. You’re in Twilight country out there. I’m sure you’ve moved on to new locations, so you can relax! 😎
Hey, at least you can try and fail. I'm forced to live in a crappy apartment. I cant even travel to go on hikes. I have one trail near me and its boring bc I've done it 100 times
Nothing to be sorry about, maybe you could have put the tarp over the logs like a lean to. I camped on the side of a hill in the Alaska and put plastic underneath me and on top of me to keep my sleeping bag dry and when I woke up, I was about 10 yards down the hill because there was a heavy fog in the grass was wet, nothing ventured nothing gained.
Another experience, another day. Sleep conquers all. At least you gave it a good try. Next time you will do it when you can afford the proper equipment. It was a win as far as experience goes!
You kept referring to yourself and your plan as "stupid". Well m'darlin, I disagree....Your 26th president wrote a speech called "In The Arena". In it he refers to daring greatly. I think stupid is NOT daring greatly! Finding your "gal balls" and daring to live wholeheartedly in lifes arena, the fear be damned does not a stupid woman make! Nuff respect coming at ya from from another solo vanner who found her own lady balls albeit in her mid 50's...hell, if not now, when?! ❤
you probly been told this many times already. But you are a very pretty and very cute young lady. And you have amazing personality. And you are very smart .
Sometimes it just about the experience...I do not see this as a fail...you stayed until dawn (I think) or very close to it...just didn't think about how it might rain...and that's ok. I'm glad you ended it safely.
I wouldn’t call your beach camping a fail at all. As you packed, paused to take in the sight and walked, IEEE’s could see the ski getting lighter. making it to dawn is a win.
Emma, you did do what you set out to do. You did spend the night ON the beach. You just didn't sleep ON the beach. Ask yourself, which exactly was the thing you always wanted to do ON the beach? You said you failed on this long-awaited wish of yours. My dear, you just failed to sleep in it is all. You accomplished everything else, in spite of bears, and not enough gear, and a long night of mist. And because you padded your beach dream by having your bus bus a short walking distance away was using some good intuition. Nothing wrong with that👌.
Been there, one time camping with my friend near the coast, we set up the tent on the beach and didnt know it was drizzling while asleep and i (my bad) didnt set up a corner of our tent up right and woke up soaked and with a puddle of water in the the corner of the tent. happens.
Dont fall into all that gear hype. Youll be more than capable buying some stuff at Walmart or off amazon. I backpack alot and i dont think i have any "backpacking" gear. Use what you have available. You didnt fare so bad. Your first few trips will always be bad because you dont know what you need and what you dont need. As you do it more youll learn the essentials and what you can leave behind. Happy trails!
Very lovely your TH-cam videos channel is beautiful places you pick great job 👏 lovely your TH-cam channel so much I keep watching. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️❤❤❤
Just 3 minutes in , but I like ur plan ... Gods speed ...* 9 minutes in , builds giant bear feeding bowl ... * oh boy... * not , eatin by bears / total success and fun ... ( for us ) Thanks Emma
The only failure we experience is in our own minds. Don't let your subconscious mind tell you that you need expensive stuff to do anything. Homeless people live out there amongst the wild with WAY less than what you have. You're doing great. Continue to live your life and have fun just the way you've been doing it. 😃
Well.. at least you learned how nice and dry car camping is. I'd call it a win. Knowledge is everything !
👍 Rock on 🙂.
No failure!!!! You experienced it. YOU DID IT! And you took us along..thanks for the ride! Really enjoying your videos!
Very brave to try!
Don't feel too bad - like every one of my backpacking trips, there was SOMETHING that went wrong; it's a learning opportunity. 😉 You DID have bear spray and a book! 😊

thank you for the advice! ❤️
You're so brave Emma!! You did not fail!! That was awesome! Those views were amazing!! And your music❤ such a peaceful video!
Don't knock yourself too hard Emma. You may not have succeeded but true failure is when you never step outside your comfort zone.
No matter what you were there to try i believe you succeeded epic views thanks till the next one ✌👍👍
One of your most exciting videos ever!
I felt like I was going too! Lol.
Fantastic and so inspiring. Thank you for sharing again Emma.
You're the best!
You made it as far as I’m concerned glad you had fun. You tried it. Thank you for sharing. Stay blessed.
Love when you post! Ems you be safe out there.
Good morning Emma, consider this a learning experience and not a fail ... at or near the end of the summer tents should be on sale and try this experience again 😊
Good to see you again safe nd sound ❤ don't say u failed only u just learning 😉
I always love hearing your music... take care & stay safe Emma.❤

You're a complete success in my book! What a great adventure! Most people would never even have the courage to begin!
You did it! Don’t sell yourself short just because you packed up early. The day light was present when you left so it’s safe to say this was a win! I admire the fact you cowboy camped, I would be a bit nervous to camp like that.

By the way, the Nature hike one person is a tad cheaper at $89.99 compared to their two person.
Nice music!
" come with me for scrappy backpacking!" 😊 you're hilarious .
I would have been freaked out walking in those dark woods knowing what you knew about bears and HEAVEN knows what else. You're brave.
bears are usually chill hehe ❤️🐻 thank you for your kind words!
Fail??? Are you kidding me? You rock Girl! Thanks for another grand adventure!
What I enjoy about your channel is that you show real life which is not always perfect. You are souch braver than me. I am scared of a bear in my minivan when I camp on a forest road. Let alone sleeping without a tent!
No need to apologize, you tried.. I give you an A+
I was in Seattle a couple years ago, but I did not get to enjoy the scenery nor camping or hiking. Enjoy your videos keep going rocking and rolling and winning.
Haa the thumbnail says it all!! :) honestly, takes guts to do what you do! PROPS Emma!!
you did good, nice scenery 👏👏👏👏
hello emma.. any video of yours i watch.
Gosh.
I miss you so much. Every part, every single part, of this is beautiful, perfect and right and that IS the way of it.
Fly little bird, fly.
I miss you too 🐦🐦❤️❤️

Outrageously courageous ! "Questions life choices" 😂 ❤ I'm just glad you weren't a bear snack...love that tenacity 😎👋🇳🇿 NZ
I'm glad she's safe too:) ✌🏼👋🏻🇺🇸
You made it work with what you have, Emma. Thanks for Sharing... p.s. say Hi to Bella and Edward, & Jacob
TEAM EDWARD 😂😂
That's right, TEAM EDWARD 🥰
She didn't wanna see
The stars were out of reach
She's caught between the ocean
And the bear upon the beach
BEAR UPON DA BEACH 🐻 🐻 🌊
Tip get a heavy plastic sheet to cover yourself with, it will keep the damp off you, since you have sleeping bag for warmth
10:46 oooohhh I love it
👍 That was great idea but I wouldn't have planned on sleeping but take in every minute
You embarked on this new adventure 'Scentless' not 'Senseless'...lol 😄 that's a pass....that was enough water in the sand to think the Tide pushed in...but it pushed up near the Log....it was good thinking to use the logs. Try again. ❤

Thank you for your kindness!
I can access my youtube thanks donations when I get checks from youtube, so once a month.
Semper Fi, 72-76
I'd still consider this a win! You went and tried a spontaneous adventure that was completely new for you.
this reminds me of when i tried car camping and didn't sleep at all because it was too cold and all i had to cover me was a thin blanket 😂
the first time I slept in my car it was in my driveway and it was 18 degrees and I had a panic attack before promptly giving up to sleep in my nice warm bed lol
Emma, I love that book 😍😍😍Twilight :)
Cool
Dude this is sick I wanna do this now
You have! In the cave at thacher

I live in Cuba New Mexico. If I were anywhere near you, you could have your pick of any of my camping gear in my garage. Only 1,400 miles.
Emma, you did do what you set out to do. You did spend the night ON the beach. You just didn't sleep ON the beach. Ask yourself, which exactly was the thing you always wanted to do ON the beach? Very nice cassieclark ✌🏼:)thanks for helping Emma and BusBus:)

Oh yea ps...get a hammock and a flyweight tarp. You can get both super cheap and much lighter than carrying a tent
Very lovely your TH-cam videos channel is beautiful places you pick great job 👏 lovely your TH-cam channel so much I keep watching. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️❤❤❤
You are beautiful Emma.
It's ok to fail. Failing is proof that you are trying something new. No one has ever won powerball with the first ticket they ever bought.
I would never bring a tent camping. They are barely waterproof. Tarps are thicker and warmer.
The Woods In The State Of Washington Are very very very Cool 😎, My Brothers And Sisters, And My Friend Emma.
🎉🎉🎉💪💪
Hi Emma, I am sorry it was not a good experience for you.
A second tarp and you are in business.
Don't beat yourself up. You did it and I don't believe that I could have ever did what you just did... just saying! LoblB
What's LoblB ?:)
@@melav1407 Frist name Bryan last name Lobl
I thought you were going to use the tarp as shelter and tie it to the logs.
Thought about that, but I wanted to protect my sleeping bag from the sand since I use that to sleep every night
This is what happens when people who live out of their car, just live in it.
IF YOUR NOT TRYING TO BE ULTRALIGHT BACKPACKING CAN BE VERY AFFORDABLE.
THIS IS TRUE BUT HEAVY STUFF SUCKSSSSSSSS
Just 3 minutes in , but I like ur plan ... Gods speed ...* 9 minutes in , builds giant bear feeding bowl ... * oh boy... * not , eatin by bears / total success and fun ... ( for us ) Thanks Emma
Camping doesn't mean living like a hobo cmon😂
You are my kind. Ultra lite camping is cheap. Plus you should buy used shit. Join REI
