You bring a welcomed perspective on a crowded platform that is of a good quality to a community that is always hungry for new content. So long as you continue to bring quality content to the table it will not matter if you have a box on your head or use some other shtick.
Thanks for covering this. We have V&V MoM and really enjoyed is whimsical simplicity, a little long to play, but a great deal of fun. Really looking forward to the Co Op and Solo mode on with V&V LL. Believe the interchangeable hero's and villain's will provide some replay ability to the campaign and breath new life into V&V MoM.
The box on the head is unappealing. SU&SD does silly costumes and skits, but they are thematic to the games. Tom on Dice Tower wears a hat but I think that is so people recognize him at conventions. You don’t need a wacky hook. Your hook is quality content, frequent updates, interesting topics, and hard work. Everything else (yes, everything) just detracts from that. What is BoardGameCo’s hook? What is Shelfclutter’s hook? Box on the head doesn’t get you to 10,000. Busting your hump and consistency will. The first things I look for when I launch TH-cam are updates from the Board Game content creators. There is no shortcut to popularity. Hard work. Quality content. Frequent updates. Interesting topics. That’s it.
lol! thanks! I completely understand. I think I’ll maybe just take it off the thumbs at least for now. but it’s still kinda fun to do in the videos themselves!
@ if you have fun doing it, who cares? This advice is also coming from someone with a profile picture of an orange mouth smile ala The Godfather so...take it with a zest of citrus...ehm, grain of salt...
well I certainly find this game interesting and fortunately I would "only" be interested in the retail version. Therefore I have the luxury to wait after the release and the reviews then to make a better informed decission - especially since we often play only a two player game. Still I would be missing a "one-off" dungeon crawler kind of game
@ I play solo or coop with my wife. I am worried that Deliverance may be too simple. I like challenging, complex puzzle like games

@@kruupy3813 fair enough, it may be then. If that's what you're looking for they're both tough but I think LL is more puzzling in nature and might be better suited for your needs

Some notes: Resale value isnt that great for these games (skybound games) and they tend to end up in sales bins often. Balance is meh in first and I expect the same in second. Skybound makes super pretty games with so so gameplay.
Our games aren't for everyone! What people like in mechanics is highly subjective. We are very proud of our productions and the ratings we get on the gameplay and the production.

I wouldn’t say this was so so by any means. clearly not for everyone but much better than other stuff I’ve played. to each their own
@ Absolutely. Mostly just giving a different take based on my experience and how difficult it was for me to resell their games without taking a pretty big hit.
