Gosh darn. When you mentioned the one guy is associated with biologos my heart sank. Significant compromise within that organization, pitting supposed science above the Biblical text. Be warned.
One of the positive things about this series is that it presents different evangelical perspectives on controversial topics. A balanced presentation should have people with various views. You can be sure that all the presenters have a high view of scripture and believe it is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. Rather than putting science above the biblical text, the presenters all believe that God's special revelation in his word and general revelation in nature should present a consistent and truthful message.
If it were true that "God's special revelation in his word and general revelation in nature should present a consistent and truthful message" that were good. I've found, over and over, that fitting old ages into the Biblical text doesn't really allow that. So Zondervan is promoting an old earth “reconciliation” of faith and science? Not exactly shocking. They’re the ones pushing books by Lennox, Turek and other famous Old Earthers. Yes, they have some good resources as well, but they do not promote only Young Earth Creation materials and authors. What I have seen is that anything coming from them needs to be cautiously examined before buying or promoting. I have an OLD VHS tape of a show produced by PBS called "Faith and Reason", that right in the title showed the premise - the two were not the same. If your episodes do show how they coincide and can't contradict, I'm all for that.
Actually the more I studied the biblical text, the more I found that old ages fit the text better and was more consistent with the entire scriptural revelation. Showing all of the reasons would take too long to write about in this forum, but I invite you to read some of the entries on my blog. For instance www.michaelgstrauss.com/2017/06/the-six-days-of-creation.html and www.michaelgstrauss.com/2017/06/genealogies-and-creation-of-heaven-and.html would be a good place to start.
