Ok, i have purchased one of ottocast play 2 video, but i am not able to connect in my car. What app you are using here in the video? Where you are able to run all of the other app's, like netflix, youtube...? Thanks in advance
I have no idea why this doesn't work on my 2016 Cadillac CTS with wired carplay but surprisingly works well on my dad's 2016 GMC Yukon.. Both cars share similar GM infotainment systems. I've also mentioned my car model on checkout.. 🙄
How does IPTV work for you. Mine freezes like crazy. TH-cam and Netflix streams well. I wish it would use mobile data instead of hotspot because I think that would be a little more efficient.
So, does the car need to have CarPlay or Android Auto built-in for these devices to work? I thought these devices actually added CarPlay or Android Auto to the car. If that’s not the case, are there any devices that can add CarPlay or Android Auto to the car?
So if i have a basic dually and I equipped it with a Phoenix automotive tesla screen I can't use any of the ottocast products via USB/hotspot??? Thanks for the help

I see Netflix and TH-cam on my screen but I try to use it but it says no internet connection!! What steps do I take to connect to the internet so I can watch Netflix and so on like you’re showing??
@davidreems6088 most phones have the capability. It depends on your phone service if you can do it. Or you can buy a mobile hotspot from your cell company.
Go to the settings on the screen where Netflix and TH-cam are, Go to networks then scroll through to find a wifi signal and make sure your phones Hotspot is on. If Im home my wifi will pop up, I put in my password and Im golden… as long as I can get the signal. My phone hotspot is sadly more miss than hit. This is the biggest problem for me.
I have a question? If you have the screen that ppl buy for older model cars can you have both going in your suv, especially if you have a lighter plug in the back of your suv, think you can have your regular screen playing Netflix etc. And the bought screen mounted in the back for your guest somewhere?
@@DIYReid nevermind, I figured it out. Lol. It's just rather clunky the way it all works. I'm sending it back and trying a different brand. One I can add apps to.

@@DIYReidthat was going to be my question. I have other apps I’d like to use from my CarPlay. Solar control apps, weather etc. any idea which device would allow that?
Please DON'T buy this item. Total waste of your money. The display resolution of your factory OEM CarPlay or Android Auto will be much less than the OEM. Also, the unit gets very high temperatures which is quite dangerous for having it in any glove box. Better stay away from the OTTOCAST company that does not follow their returns policy. They are just losers.
Why not just get a couple of cheap tablets like a Fire HD 10 Tablet and link them to your phone's Wi-Fi hotspot. That's safer, more versatile, can load up any app, and convenient. I keep a tablet in my glove box ready to be used at any time. Using a tablet is by far the better way to go.

The screen will go out on reverse right? But will it go back at the video screen on drive?
Yup
Does it have Waze in it? If yes, can it be used as a split screen with youtube? Thanks!
Curious about weather apps like Windy or local news for storms in area while driving. would be nice to see front line and maps at same time.
how did you add videos on the flash drive to add them on the ottocast? My video files come out but mine says "Invalid Path or Video File"

Does the screen need to be touch screen or does it work on round turner next to the gearstick
Can you connect it to your iPhone Hot Spot internet when you are using Apple Car Play on the road?
Technically your phone will use the phones internet for carplay.
Your Bluetooth will work with the CarPlay. You have to have CarPlay off to watch Netflix or TH-cam

It adds wireless carplay/android auto. The vehicle has to already have carplay or android auto for this to work.
