So, does the car need to have CarPlay or Android Auto built-in for these devices to work? I thought these devices actually added CarPlay or Android Auto to the car. If that’s not the case, are there any devices that can add CarPlay or Android Auto to the car?
I see Netflix and TH-cam on my screen but I try to use it but it says no internet connection!! What steps do I take to connect to the internet so I can watch Netflix and so on like you’re showing??
@davidreems6088 most phones have the capability. It depends on your phone service if you can do it. Or you can buy a mobile hotspot from your cell company.
Why not just get a couple of cheap tablets like a Fire HD 10 Tablet and link them to your phone's Wi-Fi hotspot. That's safer, more versatile, can load up any app, and convenient. I keep a tablet in my glove box ready to be used at any time. Using a tablet is by far the better way to go.
@@DIYReid nevermind, I figured it out. Lol. It's just rather clunky the way it all works. I'm sending it back and trying a different brand. One I can add apps to.
I have a question? If you have the screen that ppl buy for older model cars can you have both going in your suv, especially if you have a lighter plug in the back of your suv, think you can have your regular screen playing Netflix etc. And the bought screen mounted in the back for your guest somewhere?
Ι just go it and it is very good. Any idea why the subtitles are not appeared in my Movies? I have plugged in a memory stick with movies, including the srt files but the system doesn't recognize them. I would be glad if you could help me with this.
@@DIYReidthat was going to be my question. I have other apps I’d like to use from my CarPlay. Solar control apps, weather etc. any idea which device would allow that?
Please DON'T buy this item. Total waste of your money. The display resolution of your factory OEM CarPlay or Android Auto will be much less than the OEM. Also, the unit gets very high temperatures which is quite dangerous for having it in any glove box. Better stay away from the OTTOCAST company that does not follow their returns policy. They are just losers.
Thank you so much

You need to connect it to the internet via a mobile hotspot.
When you say via mobile hotspot, is that something you do on your phone or the car?

Does it work for screen that is not touchscreen?
As long as you have carplay or android auto already. I'm assuming you use a joystick to control a curser?
Cool review. You are really good in this.
Thanks for the kind words.
I can't get android auto working inside of the device. It will switch me to regular android auto.

@manvanross so you’re wanting apps on your phone that don’t work with CarPlay to work? I dont think it’ll work unless it mirrors your phone.
@@DIYReid ok thanks for the reply

Yes. Once the video plays it does. TH-cam once you play full screen it does.
