i get it now. at first when you found out you’re given a chance to escape, to make of the person YOU want to become, you keep dreaming about it. you’ll convince yourself that you can go as far away as possible, you’d pack up your things, move on with life, bringing all your hopes and dreams and principles. Maybe because you hated the place, or you just wanted a new scenery. In any case, you wanted to get out. But somehow, you don’t. “Ain’t it funny how we went nowhere” was repeatedly asked because even you’re suprised to see you’re still there considering you’ve always wanted to escape. It’s as if something’s holding you back, or you know that’s where you should be. That you should stay. Then the singer comes to question when, in life, if we’re given the chance to be a different person, or to break free, would we do it? Would we leave the place that has watched us grew, the place the universe has set place for us to begin our lives? Who are we really? The person we were or the person we aspire to be? At least this is how I interpreted it. Someone recommended this and i’ve been in love ever since :) definitely looking forward to his future works!!!

Listening to this years after it has been published and I still feel the exact same roller coaster of emotions. The rustic feel I get coming from the banjo like instrument, the sense of hope, and almost triumph as the angelic backing vocals crescendo alongside that smooth acoustic guitar ostinato. Whenever i listen to this song, i imagine being taken on the journey of a farmer. The upbeat vocals representing the growth of the farmer, both in terms of experience and success. seasons of wondeful harvest, plentiful supplies of staple foods and crops. In a cycle. As the vocals progress, the farmer ages. The vocals become quieter.. and slower towards the brief break. We hear one last sequence evoking these rustic sounds, as the farmer and his land passes. A reminder of what used to be. And the angelic vocals portray a new life, above the earth.The feelings provoked contrast in such a perfect way and this song is an absolute masterpiece. I’ve fallen in love with novo amors music over the last few months. As an 18 year old surround with the mainstream generic music of my generation it fills me with extreme happiness to know music like this exists. Music where words mean everything and are crafted with care all the while being compliment by the beauty and essence of the instruments

I found serenity with your voice
Listening to this years after it has been published and I still feel the exact same roller coaster of emotions. The rustic feel I get coming from the banjo like instrument, the sense of hope, and almost triumph as the angelic backing vocals crescendo alongside that smooth acoustic guitar ostinato. Whenever i listen to this song, i imagine being taken on the journey of a farmer. The upbeat vocals representing the growth of the farmer, both in terms of experience and success. seasons of wondeful harvest, plentiful supplies of staple foods and crops. In a cycle. As the vocals progress, the farmer ages. The vocals become quieter.. and slower towards the brief break. We hear one last sequence evoking these rustic sounds, as the farmer and his land passes. A reminder of what used to be. And the angelic vocals portray a new life, above the earth.The feelings provoked contrast in such a perfect way and this song is an absolute masterpiece. I will forever love this song as long as I walk this earth. Thank you Novo Amor. ❤️
