When checking chain tension, should the bike be on a center stand or the kick stand? Should the rider be sitting on the bike?

I have your 25/51 kit what was the chain total link length? The website states 130 we cut to 118 and snapped the chain in multiple places. It’s a stock motor with a 475 cam and the chain was a EK Chain 530Z3D-150KG 530 Z 3D Premium Chain
