I grew up in Wickenburg, late 70s and thru the 80s, My family still reside in the Surprise area, have many friends that live there and many that moved away, Wickenburg is not exactly the bastion of careers and jobs, I recall when I was High School there many talked how after Graduation they where leaving this one horse town, there was not really a lot for young folk to do , specially back then, No local swimming hole or anything like that, Desert Parties plenty of those, if you where lucky enough to own some kid of recreation vehicle you where good to go, but with all that said I still loved my time there, and once or twice year I do make it back there, to see how things have changed, in many ways it has not specially during the summer times place is dead, as it always was, and it has also become very expensive to live there as well, and the town really does not offer anything to justify such high cost's, so that is why I now live in Tennessee, and to put into perspective, of growth, the town's population now is about seven thousand, when I lived there 40 years ago the POP, was about 2.000 so in 40 some years it's only grown about 5000, and that number is because of all the snowbirds, during the summer it drops a couple thou, that it is why during summer time all your good restaurants are all closed up, among other venues. I was there a couple of July Ago's and same "OLE" same "OLE" and Hot as a Mother, yea, yea, I know it's a dry heat,
