Thank you so very much for posting. I made many trips to Jamaica in the 80's simply to buy rock steady, ska, and reggae records. If it came out after 1985 I want no parts of it. However, I was mislead in that I was told the Paragons never issued an Lp but only singles, which I thought I had them all. I am delighted to hear some "new" Paragons songs for the first time tonight. Three cheers to the one who posted. I am grateful, am enjoying rocking out to the consternation of the others sitting next to me in the library (but that is their problem and also their loss). I love John Holt, but his solo career can't compare to the work he did with the Paragons. I am always willing to trade tapes of my extensive vinyl collection.
So sad, Holt was one of the greats. Those of us who lived in the UK really appreciated his Jamaican music. We also have this one on the computer and on a CD.
He's saying "One more box of apps." In the old days, before they had iPhones, you had to get apps in a box, you couldn't download them. Imagine that - you had to go to the store to get your apps. Kids today can't even imagine doing a thing like that. Everything's right in the palm of your hand. This album reminds of Saturday mornings when me and Bigs had to run down to the store to get apps for Dottie. Sometimes the store owner would give us a free pop or an egg cream. We were just kids.
music of wonderful memories growing up in Jamaica, missing my country.
Magical. The vocal harmonies are quite exceptional.
One of my all time favourite reggae albums.
An absolute classic....and it still is.

For the record: John Holt sang " One more box of HOPS" referring to a major ingredient in beer. He could have said "One more box of BEER"
💗
I always thought Sir Holt sang "one more box of Apps" as in Appleton's Rum
Gary Crook Could well be. Promotion style on records wasn't unheard of back then.

BIG CHUNE !
Shouldn't the picture rotate at 33 1/3 rpm?
+Kev Hancock Errr and in a clockwise direction, unless the uploader is making a subversive comment about 'the devil's music'!!
